They were walking down the street side by side, it was late enough that the streets of London were fairly empty. Peter felt more comfortable taking this stroll with his ex husband.
“Under the definition of gullible, Peter, the dictionary would have your picture,” Elias sighed.
“How was I supposed to know it was a scam, Elias? Not all of us have your powers,” Peter grumbled. “Besides I did get the money back.”
Elias shook his head. “Not soon enough for Nathaniel.”
“Well, nevermind him, “ Peter said. “I did and I taught them a lesson.”
A slow smile spread on Elias’s lips. “Yes, yes you did.”
Peter moved in closer to Elias almost too close. Elias just smiled up at him, his eyes glimmering. “I heard you have a wager with Fairchild, concerning me.”
Peter met his eyes and took one large cold hand and placed it one Elias’s shoulder. “I do. He said you were done with me, and nothing I could say or do would get you back.”
“He was wrong,” Elias purred, putting his hand in Peter’s.
Peter leaned in, dug in his pocket and pulled out a small box containing a tasteful diamond ring. “Elias Bouchard, you are a horrible man shaped thing, you irritate me but I can’t be without you. Will you marry me, again?”
Elias chuckled, looked deeper into Peter’s eyes and kissed him. “Yes, of course.”
Peter returned the kiss, then slipped the ring on Elias’s finger. “I won.”
Elias hummed and looked away. “Yes, how much was the bet for?”
“Twenty quid, why?” Peter asked.
Elias chuckled to himself. “Oh Peter…never change.”
