Work Text:
What the hell is love? Taehyung couldn’t seem to describe what it is. He has no first-hand experience on what the hell it is. For someone who is a literature major, he should just be able to make things up—to add flowery and glittery words to describe what it is. But it is so hard for him to write about it. Their professor had given them the most simple question as a writing prompt: WHAT IS LOVE?. It would’ve been so easy then, but right now, he can’t seem to write a single word about it.
“It may be simple but your write-ups must not only contain words but also feelings,” that is what their professor had said when she gave out the prompt.
So here he is, sitting on the balcony of their vacation house in Jeju, think about love. Earlier today, he had asked his older brother Namjoon on his view of what love is. That brother of his never disappoints, he had given the most logical and most philosophical answer that he had ever heard. He didn’t understand a word he said that is why all those words had entered one ear and exited the other. He feels sorry for his brother who had wasted energy in answering his question. Taehyung might recall whatever his hyung had said when he starts writing—if he ever starts writing.
Taehyung groaned. “This won’t do! I need inspiration!” he stood up from where he was and walked to where t he TV was. He is going to binge watch romantic and rom com movies on Netflix. Maybe by then he’ll have a vague idea on what to write.
Taehyung abruptly rose up when he realized that he fell asleep. He freakin’ fell asleep while doing “research”. He can’t believe himself. He hit himself because of his stupidity. Taehyung can’t do anything for those wasted and lost time. He’ll just seriously do it. He walked back to his spot on the balcony.
He looked out and breathed in the salty air. There he saw his brother, Seokjin, and his brother’s long-time partner, Yoongi. Two chairs were propped out by the beach and fishing lines were cast. He just laughed at the sight he saw. Taehyung knows that Yoongi had been dragged out by Jin out onto the beach to fish. And Yoongi let him. BUT THERE ARE NO FISHES ON THE BEACH THEY ARE IN!
EUREKA! Well, Taehyung didn’t actually say it out loud. But he had just a eureka moment. The had found his answer on the question “What is love?” Love is YOONJIN. Well, not really YOONJIN themselves but they embody what love should be like. Love is letting the love of your life drag you out of bed to fish in a fishless body of water. YOONJIN embodies the meaning of love. That is Taehyung’s opinion.
Taehyung hurriedly grabbed his laptop out to the balcony and started typing all his ideas into words before they dissolve like bubbles. He knows they wont because he had seen their love a couple million times and he couldn’t forget. How could he?
By the time Taehyung was done writing, it was already dinner time. And his brother had already called him to the table several times. He hurriedly went down to the kitchen before Seokjin would drag his ass down.
He was confused to see only three bowls of rice. “Where’s Namjoon-hyung?”
“He went back to the city for an urgent meeting,” Seokjin had said as he placed the last of the side dishes he had prepared on the table. Since it was already the last day of their weekend getaway, Seokjin had prepared a feast for them. Too bad Namjoon-hyung missed it. He would have loved Seokjin-hyung’s cooking. That was what was going inside Taehyung’s mind as he started digging in his food.
The table conversation had been fun but Taehyung can’t help but notice the couple being too sweet with each other. He noticed that Seokjin had been putting food on Yoongi’s bowl when he wasn’t looking and it was also same for Yoongi. Taehyung was right on choosing them as his inspiration for his paper. This is love.
Taehyung had finished writing his short essay and he was proud. Before he would turn in this, he would like his brother and his boyfriend to read it first. Maybe they won’t approve of sharing this.
He printed out a copy of his writing to show his brother.
“HYUNG! HYUNG! HYUNG!” He shouted as he was running around the house until his brother would answer.
“Out here Taehyung!” he heard his brother answer from the beach front.
He handed Seokjin the paper. His older brother looked confused af. “Read it first and tell me if you approve of me turning it in,”
Yoongi had peeked over the paper. “Can I have a read in this too?” he had asked Taehyung.
Taehyung nodded. “Of course you can. I want you both to read it.”
“Hyung read it out loud.” Yoongi had told Seokjin.
WHAT IS LOVE?
Kim Taehyung
What is love? I have been stuck pondering on this question for hours and hours. It also went to a point where I turned to my good old friend, Netflix. My friend didn’t help at all! I was on the balcony of our Jeju house when I realized something! I realized that the answer was right in front of me.
Love is running out the door from my last class just to see you at the crosswalk. Love is sitting beside you in class just waiting and praying that you notice my new haircut and hair color. Love is waiting for you at the hallway so we could go have lunch together. Love is asking you to be mine. Love is saying yes. Love is holding hands in the dim-lit movie theater. Love is fighting and kissing in the rain. Love is getting Holly and the twin gliders. Love is annoying you while you are playing your League of Legend game. Love is cooking for you and feeding you. Love is letting you drag me out of bed just to fish with you. And most of all, love is Jungkook.
I have no experience in love so instead of writing empty words, I looked for inspiration. The best example of love that I could find is the love emitted by my brother and his boyfriend. Their love is not perfect but their love is true. It may not be conventional but it is special. I may not say those words in public more often, everyone can see and feel the way they do for each other.
So when I was asked what love is, I know now that I have an answer. Love is YOONJIN. It may not be the same for everyone because love is shapeless. Love is genderless. Love is everywhere. Love is a feeling that no one understands—no one can comprehend. And there is no amount of philosophical and logical explanation could even express what love is. Love is love. That is what love is.
“Oh its about us,” Seokjin said as if he had just realized it after he had read it.
Yoongi looked at him with a frown on his face. “No shit? You just realized it now?”
Seokjin slowly nodded. “I mean I was just reading it not really processing the words until I gave it a quick scan and saw ‘Love is Jungkook’”
Jungkook is Seokjin and Yoongi’s adopted son. The couple had adopted him a few months back because they fell in love with him the moment they saw him. Jungkook probably loves them back too.
“I based it off on you guys. Will that be okay?” Taehyung had asked them but the couple didn’t seem to hear them because they have been in their own bubble.
Taehyung had just been listening to them talking. The couple are trying to piece together the which part of the writing was their point of view.
***
Seokjin’s class had just ended. He shoved his book and notebook inside his bag not finding if they all get folded or the papers get crumpled. He doesn’t care because he was going to miss it. He is going to miss the cute grumpy guy on the crosswalk. At first, Seokjin had just met him by chance while crossing. Then he saw him again the week after that and the week after that. So he concluded that this cute grumpy guy had a class at 3pm because Seokjin sees him at the crosswalk at 2:45.
Seokjin rushed out the building and out the campus. When he was nearing the crosswalk, he had to pace himself to look as calm as possible. He had caught a glimpse of the cute grumpy guy standing at the other end of the crosswalk, waiting for the walk sign to turn green.
Seokjin was happy, He doesn’t know why but at 2:45 pm on a Wednesday afternoon, he was happy. Seokjin was trying to hold his expression but for whatever reason, he was radiating happiness and his face just showed it. Seokjin might not know the name of the cute grumpy guy but he sure makes him smile.
Yoongi had gone blonde. He wanted to make a drastic change as he now shares a class with Seokjin. Seokjin who he has the biggest crush on. Fortunately, on the first day of the semester, he wasn’t late and he got to pick the seat next to Seokjin!
In the middle of class, Yoongi had felt Seokjin staring at him. The older wasn’t even trying to be subtle with his stares. He turned to Seokjin, who his head on the desk and was staring up at him.
“What are you doing?” he had asked Seokjin. Seokjin needs to listen to the lecture. It will be a part of their midterm exam, as what the professor had said before he started his lecture.
“Something is different about you today. I’m trying to figure it out,” Seokjin said before he turned his attention back to the lecture.
Yoongi smiled, in his mind that is. Seokjin had noticed the change. Yoongi doesn’t know if Seokjin couldn’t pin point the hair change because he was wearing a beanie or something. But Yoongi had intentionally left an inch or half an inch of fringe to be exposed. Instead of his fringe covering his eyes, he had to cut it shorter. To be honest, Yoongi had been annoyed to have his hair poking his eyes but he was too lazy to go to a barber to have it cut.
Yoongi bade his farewell to Seokjin who was still putting his things back in his bag. He walked out the door to go to his next class.
“It suits you. Don’t hide it,” Seokjin had whispered into his ear as he pulled Yoongi’s beanie off of his head. Yoongi had turned around too late because he saw Seokjin already walking far opposite of the direction he was taking.
Yoongi had been in the best mood the whole day. He was happy that Seokjin had noticed and approved of whatever he had going on.
After that one class they had together last semester, Seokjin and Yoongi had become close, but unfortunately after that, they had no classes together anymore. Seokjin and Yoongi arranged to get lunch together today. That is why Seokjin is outside, sitting on one of the benches, Yoongi’s department building. He was pretending to read a book in order to distract himself of the stares of the students passing by him. He knows he is handsome but people staring at him is a different story.
Seokjin checked his watch and it was still 20 minutes until Yoongi gets out. Seokjin closed his eyes and bathed in the mid-winter sun. It wasn’t too hot and it wasn’t too cold.
“Hyung! Let’s go?”
Seokjin had opened his eyes and saw the most beautiful man he had set his eyes on. He just smiled widely as he had looked at the beauty in front of him.
“Okay,” Seokjin said before he stood up and let Yoongi guided him to the where they were eating. Seokjin took out his phone to check for the time and saw that it was still 10 minutes before they were supposedly let out. “You’re out early, huh.”
Yoongi just nodded. “We were let out almost 30 minutes before time.”
Seokjin was confused. Seokjin was waiting for Yoongi for 20 minutes. He would’ve saw him outside his building if they were let out that early.
“I was out there. Staring at you while people were staring at you. You got cute reactions,” Yoongi had teased Seokjin.
“Yah! You could’ve saved me earlier!” Seokjin whined.
“I don’t want to! Look I got pretty pictures of you,” Yoongi said as he fumbled in his phone trying to show Seokjin the photo he took of him.
The photo was beautiful. Seokjin wanted it as his display picture on his social media account but Yoongi wasn’t sharing it. Selfish. Before he even turned his attention to wherever they were going, he saw Yoongi make the photo as his wallpaper.
“Do you want to eat ramyeon with me?” Seokjin couldn’t help ask.
Yoongi acted like he was thinking about it. He smiled. “It’s yes for both the literal definition and the colloquial definition.”
“Come on let’s go!” Seokjin was excited as he dragged Yoongi to a nearby restaurant. He was too excited for both the ramen he was getting!
That day wasn’t special. It wasn’t someone’s birthday nor their friendship anniversary. It wasn’t even a holiday. But for Yoongi, it just felt right. It was regular weekday at Seokjin’s place. They were watching a rerun of FRIENDS on his borderline worn out couch.
“Will you be my boyfriend?” Yoongi had blurted out. Seokjin snapped his head too fast that Yoongi had imagine it breaking.
There was silence between them. Yoongi could hear his erratic heart beating in its cage. He needed to be out of his head, so he focused his hearing on Ross’s ‘PIVOT!’ in the background.
“Yoongi are you still with me?” Seokjin had asked him while smiling at him. Was he just too focused on listening to the background that he hadn’t heard Jin. “Did you even hear what I said?”
“Did you reject me?” Worry was evident in his voice. If Jin rejected him, he will try and try again and again just to make him say yes.
“I said yes, Yoongichi. Do you want me to say no?”
“No, no, no, no.” Yoongi had placed a hand on Seokjin’s mouth so he wouldn’t say no. He is sure that Seokjin will tease him and say no instead. “Thank you for saying yes, hyung!” He removed his hand and hugged Seokjin.
Tonight, is movie night. Seokjin and Yoongi decided to watch the newly released Avengers movie. They both had binged watched the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Instead of watching the movies according to their release dates, they had watched it according to their timelines in the Marvel Universe.
Seokjin had paid for the tickets and Yoongi paid for the snacks. They entered the theater and looked for their seats. They were lucky enough to still get the seats in the middle of the room and the middle of the row. It was the best spot according to Seokjin.
As if it was their second nature, Seokjin and Yoongi’s hand found each other in the middle of their seats. Yoongi could feel the tightness of Seokjin’s grip depending on the scene. It gets tighter during the thrilling scenes and gets lighter as it gets to ‘chill’ scenes. Yoongi likes it because he can be with Seokjin in all this experience.
Seokjin had only let go of Yoongi’s hand when Tony Stark had died. He had to cover his mouth to muffle the sobs. He had also wiped his tears. He is not trying to hide it anymore. Yoongi already knows that he easily cries. Yoongi had just put his arm around him and drew circles on his shoulder to soothe him. They were like that until the credits
“THAT’S IT!” Seokjin exclaimed as he threw his wash cloth on the sink. He can’t take it anymore. The atmosphere is heavy and he knows he hasn’t done anything wrong to offend Yoongi.
Seokjin walked out of the kitchen and he also decided to get out of their apartment. He can’t take the suffocating feeling in their apartment anymore. He had asked Yoongi about it so many times and he would either shrug his question off or he would deliberately ignore him.
Seokjin was already on the sidewalk when Yoongi had caught up to him. “Hyung! Let’s go back inside! Its cold.” Yoongi pleaded. He saw that Yoongi had put on a scarf before chasing after Seokjin. Yoongi was also bringing a coat for him.
“Not until you tell me what’s going on with you!” Seokjin said then walked a little faster. He knows Yoongi will eventually get tired of chasing after his long strides.
“Nothing is going on with me. Come on!” Yoongi had slightly closed off the gap between them.
Seokjin stopped which made Yoongi immediately stop on his tracks. Seokjin scoffed. “Nothing? What do you mean by nothing? Something is definitely going on with you, Yoongi.” He can’t stop himself. He was word vomiting. Seokjin had really had enough of this. Yoongi not talking to him. “I have had it Yoongi! A week had passed by with the apartment feeling stuffy. And I know its not me who is making it be like that!”
Seokjin had just look at Yoongi. The younger was just staring at their foot—avoiding eye contact. He knows something is wrong and something is bothering Yoongi. He is normally a quiet person but this time, it is exceptionally quiet. Seokjin knows that there is no problem in their relationship. They hadn’t fought until today.
“You can tell me what’s bothering you, baby. Let me help you. Please,” Seokjin was desperate to get an answer from Yoongi. He just can’t be shut off like this.
Seokjin heard sobs coming from Yoongi which made him soft immediately. Yoongi rarely cries and this is one of those moments that he showed Jin his vulnerability. Seokjin closed the gap between them and hugged Yoongi.
Yoongi cried harder. He does not care of the stares that they were getting from passers-by. “I’m lost hyung,” he whispered. It was barely audible but Seokjin had caught it.
“We are almost graduating and I don’t know what to do. My parents expect me to continue my studies and be a doctor. Society expects me to get a desk job at god knows where. I don’t want that! I’m just so… lost,” Yoongi opened up to him. Seokjin was also crying because he hadn’t known that this pressure was weighing Yoongi down. He’s also hurt that he couldn’t share it with him.
Seokjin pulled out of their hug and wiped the tears that were still rolling down Yoongi’s cheeks. “Why are you keeping things to yourself? You could’ve told me, Yoongichi. I could’ve just been with you. I could’ve been lost with you.”
“I’m sorry hyung. I’m sorry,” Yoongi kept mumbling as Jin hugged him again. Seokjin doesn’t understand why Yoongi is being sorry. His feelings were valid. Seokjin admits that opening up isn’t an easy thing especially to someone like Yoongi who had always been the best support system he could ever have
This just means that even strong people can be weak sometimes. And its not a bad thing.
He held Yoongi closer to him—as if it were still possible to be closer than this. The universe might have listened to them because it also cried for them. It started raining. It started slowly and began to be a heavy shower.
“I think its time for us to kiss and make up now, Yoongi,”
Yoongi chuckled. “I also think so too.”
They indeed kissed under the street lamp and the rain. Seokjin didn’t think that this scene in romantic movies, they got to live in it. How nice was this?
Yoongi was smiling as he had laid down the tiny dog cage on their porch. He fished for his keys. Yoongi is sure that Seokjin will be surprised and happy to find a new member of their family.
Yoongi adopted a dog! Yoongi fell in love with him he passed by the adoption center! He knows that both of them hadn’t really talked about getting a dog but they had talked about imagining that there are pets in their house.
Yoongi was about to close the door when he saw Seokjin walking towards their house, also carrying a small cage. If Yoongi thought that his cage is small, Seokjin’s was smaller. He also brought a pet home without telling him. Yoongi is thinking that Seokjin had brought home a hamster.
Yoongi and Seokjin’s eyes had met. And both pair of eyes had looked at the content of each of their cages. Seokjin’s cage had two rodent-like creatures in them.
“They’re sugar gliders,” Seokjin beamed at Yoongi. “You brought a dog.”
“Cute, right?” Yoongi had lifted the cage a little so that Seokjin could easily bend down to coo at the dog.
Yoongi moved back so that Seokjin and the twin gliders can enter their house.
“Let’s name them!” Yoongi was excited on naming their pets. He placed the cage down and let the dog out to explore his new home.
The dog was hesitant at first but he started sniffing around the living room.
Seokjin scratched the back of his head. “About that – I already named the sugar gliders.”
“What did you name them?”
“Don’t be mad okay?” Seokjin told Yoongi. How bad would their names be if Jin had told him not to get mad. Yoongi nodded at his hyung for assurance. No matter what he won’t –
Yoongi hadn’t finished his train of thoughts when Seokjin suddenly blurted, “Odeng and Eomuk”
He laughed at the gliders’ names. So typical of Jin. He had named the sugar gliders as fish cakes.
“You must have been hungry when you named them,”
“I was thinking of their names on the way home when I became hungry and craved for fish cakes.”
“Because you named the gliders, I’ll name the dog.” Seokjin agreed to Yoongi’s proposal. It was just fair because Yoongi had no say in naming the sugar gliders. And Yoongi hadn’t judge their names and Yoongi is hoping that Seokjin won’t laugh at him naming the dog Holly.
“I’m naming him Holly,”
Seokjin raise his eyebrows at Yoongi. “You do realize that the dog is male right?”
Yoongi nodded. “But doesn’t he look like a Holly to you?”
“He does look like a holly. Let’s name him Holly then.”
Yoongi groaned for the nth time today. Yoongi needs to get some loving! He needs it right now! Yoongi is lying on the couch with his leg on the arm rest.
“Come on, hyung! When are you going to be done?” He whined. He cant take it anymore. He is bored.
“I just started my second game. Let me be,” Seokjin had dead panned answered him. Sounding not one bit annoyed at him. He is so patient with him. Kudos to Jin!
Yoongi went back scrolling on his phone. He needs to distract himself from distracting Seokjin. If he continues annoying him, Seokjin might flip the table.
Minutes had past and Yoongi is once again bored. “Hyung, what’s your standing?” he asked Seokjin.
“10-2-5”
“Why’d you die?”
Aggressive clicking can be heard all over the room as Seokjin had garnered another kill. “Got ambushed at the jungle area and got stunned.”
Yoongi nodded. He was about to ask another question when Seokjin was shouting “Attack!” multiple times on the screen. Probably urging his teammates to force the team fight. Then another set of aggressive clicking can be heard. Yoongi can’t see Jin’s face but he is sure that he is glaring at the screen. Concentration is at max power. And Yoongi is jealous that LoL is getting more attention than he is.
Yoongi can’t take it anymore. If Seokjin wont come to him, then he will come to Seokjin. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Yoongi stood up from his weird position on the couch and grabbed a chair and placed it beside Seokjin. The older having glanced at him made Yoongi kind of happy. Just a little because finally he was getting some attention. Even just for 2 seconds.
Yoongi is watching Seokjin play. Since Yoongi is beside Seokjin, he is lowering his voice on their team channel. He speaks less now that Yoongi is beside him. Yoongi is leaning is head on Jin’s shoulder and every few minutes, Jin would shake him off so he could do his aggressive clicking. Yoongi would also try to hold Jin’s hand but Jin wouldn’t budge. He just won’t let go of his mouse nor lets his fingers off his attack keys.
Yoongi doesn’t really like it that his hyung wouldn’t give a bit of attention and it is driving him crazy. So he could get what he wants, he annoyed Jin every way possible.
Seokjin died. “What, Yoongi? What? What could you possibly want that you are doing this to me while I’m playing?” Seokjin sounded so annoyed at him. Yoongi takes the blame. He wasn’t able to stop at the right moment when Seokjin was stuck at a tight spot in the jungle area. Seokjin wasn’t able to cast a skill because Yoongi had taken control of his hand.
“I just want your attention, hyung” Yoongi pouted. It’s a trick that will make Seokjin soft for him.
Seokjin just stared at him deadpan. “You got. Now what?” MISSION IS ABOUT TO FAIL! HE DID NOT GO SOFT FROM THE POUT!
Yoongi shrugged. “Cuddles?” He showed his gummy smile at Jin hoping that it will ease his annoyance.
It really did work because Seokjin’s annoyance started to disappear from his face. Seokjin turned his chair and opened his arms at Yoongi. This was an opening for Yoongi and he grabbed it. He hurriedly sat on Seokjin’s lap and hugged him. Seokjin gave him a tight hug.
“Hyung? You already respawned,” Yoongi whispered in Seokjin’s ear.
“Let’s leave them. I’m tired of carrying them anyway,” Seokjin said as he stood up from his chair and carried Yoongi with him.
Now Yoongi is getting what he wants. He is going to get the cuddle of a lifetime. He should make it worth it. But before the door closed from their gaming room, Yoongi gave Seokjin’s computer the middle finger. He finally got chosen over his game! Yoongi smirked.
Seokjin loves cooking and so does Yoongi. So cooking is never an issue in their household. They don’t even have a schedule on who needs to cook. Sometimes it just happens that when Yoongi doesn’t want to cook, Seokjin is in the mood to do it. If they both doesn’t like to cook, take-outs are the options.
Tonight, Yoongi is being eaten alive in his lab and he hasn’t gone out for something to eat for hours. Jin is worried. Yoongi is doing what he loves but it doesn’t mean that he won’t eat.
Jin had rummaged through their cupboards and realized that they had not gone grocery shopping for this week. He only has a limited option for his ingredients. Luckily for him though, he still has some kimchi left over from when his mom had visited them a few days ago.
He grabbed the kimchi container and placed it on the table top together with all of the ingredients that he will be using.
Seokjin prepared tonkatsu so that he could add it as both toppings and side for the kimchi stew for Yoongi. It is the best he could do with their pantry items.
Seokjin is done! And he is quiet satisfied with the food. It looks good, smells great, and tastes best! Magnifique! He put the food on a tray and they are going to be served to Yoongi.
He is in front of Yoongi’s studio and slightly kicked the door open. They have no doors closed rule when they are apart. It slightly annoyed Jin that Yoongi isn’t even fazed by the sudden opening of the door nor he fazed by the amazing smell of the food that he is bringing.
Jin placed the food on the center tble in Yoongi’s studio. And without another thought, he had pulled Yoongi’s chair and made the younger face the center table. Only then Yoongi had realized that he wasn’t alone in the room anymore.
“So you notice me now, huh?”
Yoongi smiled at Seokjin. It was quite visible that he was tired but he isn’t going to stop working until he is finished nor satisfied of his progress.
“Hi hyung!”
Seokjin just nodded at Yoongi. He was placing and arranging the food in front of Yoongi.
“You need to eat too, okay? I don’t want you dying inside the studio. Work is life but food should be lifer,” Seokjin told Yoongi.
Seokjin can’t help to be relieved when he was watching Yoongi heartily eating the food that he made for him. He is happy that he is filling his stomach with food and not die from starvation.
“You know, I love you, right?” Yoongi had suddenly said to Seokjin while he too was enjoying the food he made. Seokjin melted at his words. He met Yoongi’s eyes and then he melted some more. WRONG MOVE SEOKJIN! WRONG MOVE! But he can’t take his eyes off him. Maybe by the time that he’ll look away, he’ll be a puddle in Yoongi’s office.
One uneventful day at his studio, has led him to fly about an hour to Jeju and a few minutes by car to whatever street the Kim’s vacation home is located. Time like this makes Yoongi remember just how rich the Kim’s are. The three brothers just live a really lifestyle but oh boy their clothes are worth more than Yoongi’s old college apartment.
He’s here now because Taehyung had dragged two of his brothers out here therefore Seokjin also dragging me with him. Its not so bad. He deserves a break too. He’ll soak in the Jeju sunlight that would last him months’ worth so he could coop up inside his studio again.
Seokjin’s younger brother had said to Seokjin over the phone that, “I need inspiration for this! I have writer’s block and I need to go to the ocean.” Yoongi was surprised that Seokjin wasn’t surprised. It’s llike a natural occurrence in their home to fly out of the city to seek inspiration. Man! I need to make Seokjin do this for me too!
Like any most vacations, Yoongi decided to sleep on most of the duration. He needs it. Seokjin, on the other hand, decides otherwise. Seokjin thinks its best to fish so early on the morning! On the BEACH! I let him drag me. I’ll just sleep on the chair while waiting for the fish to take the bait.
Seokjin told Yoongi that it was already set up so he just needs to bring himself.
Yoongi grabbed his coat and walked behind Seokjin. Seokjin has a pretty back. He’ll never get used to that view despite seeing it every day.
Both of them sat down in a comfortable silence until Jin broke it. “I’m sorry we haven’t spent more times together on this break,”
Yoongi turned to look at his hyung. Seokjin did promise to spend time together with him. Lately they haven’t had time for each other due to work. Despite living in the same house, they barely got to see each other due to conflicting schedules. In the mornings, Jin is out and about doing his thing while Yoongi is grabbing sleep. At night, Yoongi is inside the studio because Yoongi’s brain mostly gets inspired at night while Seokjin is sleeping. On lucky days, the can grab breakfast together before they go off to work.
Looking at Seokjin, he is sad that he hadn’t been able to even do that while on break because Taehyung had dragged him to where ever Taehyung went. Seokjin, being the best brother, he came along. Seokjin is over reacting, probably. The days that they have been here, they have met more times than in Seoul.
“Don’t worry about it, hyung! You’re just being a good brother.” Yoongi placed a kiss on Seokjin’s lips to reassure him that it was indeed alright.
“But I promised you,” He was still pouting and Yoongi couldn’t help but smile.
“Technically you have not broken your promise. We slept together. Many times.” Yoongi’s words made Seokjin’s ear red.
“Yeah we did. A lot of times. You missed me, huh?”
Yoongi nodded. Then both of them just proceeded to just being at each other’s side—fishing in a fishless sea.
Yoomgi snuggled closer in Seokjin’s neck feeling his warmth.
“We should do it more often,” Seokjin said. Yoongi straightened out. Oh no! He wants to spend time with Jin more often but He doesn’t really like going out of bed so early in the morning.
“Not fishing very early but you know, nature trips and spending time together like this.” Seokjin calmed him don. He must have read whatever the hell went rushing in his mind.
Seokjin and Yoongi should definitely do that! Yoongi likes it as well.
Yoongi and Seokjin are happy in their marriage but they have decided that they wanted to be happier. They wanted to have a kid together. The only problem was that they have no womb to carry a child. So they thought of options, options, options. The best option that they chose is surrogacy. They talked about how they’ll do this and they have settled to have two kids. One surrogate mother for Seokjin’s sperm and another for Yoongi’s. They were pretty much so decided on that plan until they went with Hoseok and Namjoon.
The couple was on the height of their baby fever when they decided to tag along with Hoseok and Namjoon to the adoption center. Namjoon and Hoseok have already completed their requirements and is there to pick up their two-year old son. Namjoon and Hoseok have been rambling non-stop on about their son, who they will meet today.
Seokjin and Yoongi had been just walking around the garden when they saw a baby being carried, soaking up the sun. The baby piqued their interest and they decided to move closer so they could see the baby’s cuteness.
The baby had turned the direction of the couple and looked at them with those soft doe eye. The couple melted right there and then.
Seokjin was captivated at the pair of eyes looking at him. He wanted to touch the baby. He wanted it to be his. He wanted to be its dad. Unbeknownst to him, Yoongi was also thinking the same way. Each of them was thinking of a way to convince the other to just throw away their initial plan and just adopt the cute little baby in front of them.
Seokjin was the first one to be ready. He squeezed Yoongi’s hand making the younger look at him.
“He’s the one, Yoongi,” Seokjin had said with hopeful eyes and hopeful voice.
Yoongi nodded at Seokjin. “He’s the one hyung.”
Both of them relieved that the other was accepting of the sudden decision they made inside their head. Maybe it was the universe saying that they are a match made in heaven.
“Can we hold the baby?” Seokjin asked the caretaker holding the baby. The person gently passed the baby to him. They were told the story that the baby was just left in front of the center.
Yoongi was staring at Seokjin carrying the baby. He just fell in love once again. The view in front of him was just so perfect—so surreal.
“We’ll adopt him,” Both Yoongi and Seokjin said at the same time making the caretaker jump at the excitement that laced their voices.
Yoongi and Seokjin processed everything that they needed so they could be with the baby.
“What are you going to name him?” They were asked.
“Jungkook. We’ll name him Jungkook,” Seokjin said with a smile. They have been talking about what to name the baby the moment they stepped inside their car the day that they saw him.
***
“Now, I miss our kookie!” Seokjin blurted out after they had finished reminiscing. Taehyung had given it a thought. He also misses Jungkook now. He wants to pinch those cute little cheeks and he wants to look at those doe eyes.
Seokjin leaned closer to Yoongi. Yoongi just wrapped his arms around his brother and drew circles on the shoulder.
This what was Taehyung was thinking about while writing his essay. The love was just oozing everywhere. Even when they were not doing lovey-dovey stuff, you could still feel it.
This is perfect. YoonJin’s love is their own kind of perfect.
