Fred Weasley
Even on your first day, you had noticed him. He and his brother ran through the train and really got on everyone's nerves.
You had watched the whole thing with amusement; at home, after all, there were few reasons to laugh or be light-hearted.
It was a pity that you didn't see them again until the ceremony, it was clear from the beginning that they would come to Gryffindor like her siblings before and that that was the end of the beginning.
Because you were also aware in which house you would end up, in the same house where your parents were, the only house that would come into question, because if you ended up in another house, then you could immediately pack your things and disappear forever.
The hat had a hard time, but you begged to come to Slytherin, even though you were mourning the friendship that could be waiting for you in Gryffindor.
Finally, the hat gave in and let you into Slytherin.
Relieved, but also sad, you took a seat and looked over at him.
Until the fourth year, you kept thinking about what would be different if you had come to Gryffindor. Would he have noticed you? Would you have been friends? Would you have been able to escape your parents? But as always, these questions led nowhere.
Nothing would change just because you thought about it.
But this year something changed. The ball was coming up and you could hardly believe your luck because he wanted to ask you, he wanted to go with you.
He had intercepted you after class and smiled at you in a friendly, carefree way.
"(Y/L/N)!" he called out to you to get your attention.
"Weasley?" even though the words sounded cold, there was a smile on your lips.
You kept having a few arguments, a discussion here and there, and the odd war of words.
"I know your taste leaves a lot to be desired, but maybe you can still show some taste and accompany me to the ball." Even though he sounded relaxed and at ease, you knew how nervous he was before your answer.
"Fortunately for you, I really do lack taste, which is why, and I don't believe this myself, I'm saying yes."
That night you had danced and danced and danced. Again and again, he made you laugh, telling you about his pranks and plans for the future. You felt comfortable and safe with him and you wished that night would never end.
His twin brother had also asked you for a dance and you felt safe with him too, not to such an extent as with Fred, but safe nonetheless.
After that evening you became friends and you could hardly believe your luck. There was a future for you and Fred, a future you had dreamed of since your first day at Hogwarts, but then Harry came out of the maze and with him the lifeless body of Cedric.
You knew what was going on, how could you not?
Fear and panic had overtaken you that day and when you got home you realized that you had to protect the twins at all costs.
If your parents knew you liked Fred and were friends with George, they would be dead before sunrise.
You kept your distance, got mean, and every time you had to turn them down, something inside you broke.
By sixth grade you were strangers again, no one took any notice of the other and although it hurt, it was the best thing for them.
You had thought about it for a long time, you wanted to tell him everything, but when the war came, could you really go against your parents? Was that possible?
Every night these thoughts robbed you of sleep, you were not a follower of Voldemort, but would you be able to kill your father? Could you?
The following year, the school was in chaos, Dumbledore was dead and you spent your time protecting the twins as best you could without anyone noticing.
The next day was your last day at Hogwarts.
They had found out that you were Voldemort's daughter and burned you as soon as possible, and you could understand it only too well. After all, you yourself didn't realize which side you would be on.
You had seen the sad and hurt look in his eyes and you would have loved to run up to him and tell him that you would fight for him, but who would believe you now?
So you went home and let the torture, instructions, and everything else wash over you. Inside you pray for Harry, you didn't want to see your father dead, but the alternative was too bad. Therefore, you fast a decision.
You sent a Patronus to Harry until today you didn't realize you could do such a thing, after all the Dark Mark was on your arm. But the memory of the evening with Fred made a Beautiful Patronus appear, which ran to Harry and his friends and told them the location of the remaining Horcruxes.
Although you felt guilty, the chance that Harry, his friends, and especially the twins survived was now much higher.
And then, then came the war.
You stood on the battlefield surrounded by the people you had grown up with and your schoolmates with whom you had found a family.
The entire castle was under fire, spells were flying back and forth everywhere, and only with great difficulty were you able to fight your way to the top.
"(Y/L/N), or would you rather be called Riddle?" asked Fred angrily as he pointed his wand at you.
"I'm not like him. I was trying to protect you." Tears ran down your face.
"Protect?" he echoed, but the next moment there was an explosion.
The wall behind Fred collapsed and without you knowing what you were doing, you ran at him and pushed him aside.
Before you could regain your bearings you heard footsteps.
Immediately you clung tighter to your staff and saw Macnair and Yaxley in front of you.
You had known them both forever, but still, you cast a spell and hurled them both full force against the nearest wall.
"Are you okay?" you immediately asked Fred after others took care of Macnair and Yaxley.
"You really wanted to protect us," he said in surprise.
"I'll kill my father if need be, even though I know that's Harry's job." you declared full of adrenaline before you both stood up and faced off against the other Death Eaters.
"Gred? Is she on our side?" Geroge asked surprised, who was dueling with Percy against two Death Eaters.
With a skillful spell, you supported them.
"I am," you declared and threw yourself into the battle.
When the news came that Harry Potter was dead, a wave of fear and panic spread through your body. Like the others, you ran downstairs and stared at your father.
He explained to you that it was not too late to change sides.
Anger spread through you as he called your name and pulled you to him.
"Don't go." Fred breathed softly.
"I have a plan," you replied quietly before walking towards him.
"My daughter," he said proudly.
"Your daughter, who knows the prophecy and is trying anyway."
You could see the confusion in his gaze, but you said nothing.
Instead, Neville spoke up, and then it all happened so fast, Nagini was killed, Harry jumped from Hagrid's arms and you, you pointed your wand at your father.
Furious, you hurled spell after spell at him.
Your eyes had filled with tears, your heart was on fire and your whole body was shaking with rage and then, then he dissolved before your eyes.
A feeling of happiness spread through you and with a smile you hurled more spells at the Death Eaters who began to flee.
"(Y/L/N)" you heard a voice behind you as the last Death Eater disappeared.
Overjoyed, you turned and ran into his arms.
"You're alive, it's over, and you're alive," you said joyfully as if you had yet to realize it yourself.
"Only thanks to you." Before you could say anything back, he kissed you.
Finally, he kissed you. For a moment all your worries were forgotten and you could be, as on the first day, for a moment, happy and unconcerned.
That was the first of many such days.
Harry testified for you after the war that you had helped him and that you had betrayed your father. The symbols on your arm faded and with the Weasleys, you had found a new family. When they heard how you had saved Fred, it was no longer a question for them and when you and Fred announced that you were together, there was no escape for you from the family, not that you would have wanted that.
Fred and George rebuilt the store and expanded their business. Angelina and you supported them by brewing the occasional potion for them or cleaning up the store.
You found a wonderful job in a small café where the twins were allowed to sell harmless items and every Sunday you were invited to the Weasley's for dinner.
You never thought your life could take such a turn.
