Today was going to be the start of one of those peaceful weeks thanks to Sonic trashing up Eggman the other day as it meant the doctor would run off and think of a plan somewhere in hiding and wouldn't show his face unless he had a plan to carry out.
Which Sonic would no doubt thwart again.
So the heroes took it easy and went about their lives outside of saving the day.
The blue blur went to go do laps in his favourite zone and Knuckles was once again guarding the Master Emerald whilst Tails was hard at work in his workshop, tinkering away with his latest doohickey with the occasional comment of a certain pink hedgehog who was waiting for him to finish, rather impatiently. Whilst Blaze watched the interaction go down since she was spending the day with Amy.

"Are you sure this mind-reader will read everything? You can't hide any thoughts from it can you? It will only tell the truth, right?" Amy asked excitedly as she hopped on the spot in excitement.
Tails nodded as he screwed a panel to the device that resembled his translator "of course! I've programmed it to use deep waves to infiltrate the mind and seek out every thought. Be they thoughts that you are thinking or ones in your subconscious. It's all thanks to these special waves called-"
Amy covered her ears "okay okay that's enough! I just wanted to know if it will tell me everything about Sonic! His likes, dislikes, and what his true opinion is of me."
Blaze watched Amy and remained silent. However her mind was raging with thoughts, with words she wished to say but could never speak out loud.
A few minutes passed until Tails's machine flashed on, "there we go!" The fox chirped as he pressed some buttons. "Now, all I've got to do is focus it on someone and test it out."
Amy squealed and clapped her hands excitedly, "Oh! Oh! Lets try it on Blaze!"
The Princess was disturbed from her thoughts and looked surprised, "you wish to try it on me?"
Amy skipped over to Blaze and took her hands in hers, "why not? I think you'll have some thoughts that are just as pretty as you are" she smiled cutely.
That beautiful, heartwarming, dazzling and oh so wonderful smile made Blaze feel all light headed and fluttery in her heart. She seemed to loose focus of her surroundings, only focusing on Amy.
Which meant Blaze didn't hear Tails say, "and we're on! Go on Blaze! Think of something!"
So infront of Tails and Amy, the Princess internally said, 'My dearest Amy, if you only knew how much I loved you. What I wouldn't give to be adored by you in the same way you adore Sonic. I would make you my queen.'
The pink hedgehog gasped with a squeak and clamped her hands over her mouth in shock.
Tails himself was shocked.
Blaze went red in the face and spoke quickly, "I think the device has a few glitches that require seeing to.'
"N-no not at all. This device is working perfectly. It's just relayed whatever it found in your mind."
Amy felt her heart race madly as she said to Blaze, "do you really truly mean all those things?"
Blaze spoke quickly and loudly "It's the machine, it's faulty-"
But her mind spoke from the machine 'Indeed it is, I love you and I wish I was the one you chased after. Sonic doesn't know how lucky he is.'
Tails gulped nervously and tapped on the pad, "there's no fault here. I've just checked it three times now."
Amy continued looking at Blaze with a look of awe on her face.
Blaze's thoughts spoke from the machine's speakers again.
'how cute you are, I hope our descendants will inherit those green eyes of yours.'
Tails saw how flustered the poor cat girl was becoming so turned the pad off. "Oh, would you look at that! The battery ran out."
Blaze saw him nod to her and she smiled at him in thanks.
There was an awkward silence in the room until Amy started giggling softly.
Tails and Blaze looked at her in confusion.
"I knew you had pretty thoughts."
The Princess felt all the nervousness leave her as she replied "Well... I can only think pretty thoughts about a pretty girl."
Amy squealed and barreled into Blaze, hugging her tightly.
"You're too cute! Way too cute! From now on I think I'm going to chase after you. What's a hero to a princess anyways?"
Blaze slowly wrapped her arms around her crush and held her tightly.
Tails sighed a sigh of relief.
