Work Text:
The first person to wake up is always Kisame, bright and early at 4:30 in the morning.
The alarm barely gets the chance to go off before Kisame dismisses it. He'd gotten good at catching it before it rings so he doesn't disturb Kakuzu. The older man wouldn't be too angry, but it was something Kisame hoped to avoid. He rolled out of bed, moving quietly around the room as he got ready. He slips into his running clothes and heads out towards the front door.
Walking into the living room, Kisame finds Itachi passed out on the couch again. This happens a lot when Itachi is studying, to the extent that a pillow and blanket were left near the couch. Said items were currently going unused, likely because he just crashed if him being in his normal clothes was anything to go off of.
Kisame made his way to the door, attempting to be silent. However, like always he winds up waking up Itachi. A groan could be heard from the other man as he sat up, eyes blinking open to glare at him.
"God, you get up too damn early." Itachi said, slowly rising from the couch.
"You know what they say, the early bird catches the worm. You should come running with me now that you're up, we could watch the sunrise."
Itachi let out a laugh, looking at Kisame as though he'd just told the funniest joke in the world.
"Running? Watching the sunrise? You're funny. I'm going back to sleep, where it's safe and warm."
Itachi gave a small wave and he wandered off down the hall to his room. Kisame gave a fond smile and a wave back, watching him as he left. He hummed to himself as he made sure he had everything he needed: phone, earbuds, and his key. He slips on his shoes and takes a step out into the cold air, making sure to lock the door behind him. He takes a deep breath and begins his run.

Kakuzu is next to wake up, 6 am alarm beeping three times before he gets to it. Even after turning his alarm off, he lays in bed a few moments longer, debating on whether he should get up or just go back to sleep. As always though, he rolls himself out of bed and begins his day. He slides into his slippers, shaped like monster feet. They were a gift from his younger siblings, and he hated not putting things to good use. He wanders firefly into the bathroom, getting a good look at himself in the mirror. His hair is a mess, wild-looking from a night of rough sleep.
'I really should cut it.' He thought, grabbing his brush and getting to work.
It never takes long to get his hair in line, and after brushing his teeth, it's finally time to get dressed. His outfit is already laid out from the night before, waiting for him on his desk. He dresses quickly, trying to avoid the chill in the air as much as possible. Once he's ready he packs his school bag, his classes don't start for another hour and a half, but he knows that if he wants until the last minute he'll forget something. He makes his way towards the kitchen, dropping his bag off on the couch in the living room. He officially begins his day by making breakfast for everyone. They never asked him to do it, but if he doesn't, they'll resort to eating out instead of using the ingredients they have. He starts a pot of coffee and begins his labor of love. A small smile rests on his face as he cooks, humming some random song he'd heard recently.
While he's gathering plates and setting the table, Kisame returns home. He takes his shoes off at the door and makes his way into the kitchen.
"Good morning," Kisame says, wrapping his arms around Kakuzu and placing a kiss on his cheek.
"Go shower, you're all gross and sweaty." Kakuzu lightly pushes Kisame, making no real move to escape the other man's hold.
Kisame laughs give Kakuzu one more squeeze before letting go and making his way to the shower. Kakuzu finishes setting the table and shifts his attention back to finishing breakfast.

Itachi wakes up for the second time at 6:30. He'd been drifting in and out of sleep for the last two hours and finally decided to give up the fight and get up. He sits up in his bed, officially in his pajamas, and yawns. He combs his fingers through his hair and swings his legs over the side of the bed. He stretches as he stands, popping his back and then his knees. He fishes around in his closet for something to wear, deciding on something warm to fight the weather. He looks over at Hidan, laid out on his stomach and resting peacefully.
'God, I wish that was me.' He thought, quietly leaving the room.
The smell of food drew him into the kitchen, walking by the bathroom and hearing the shower running.
'Guess Kisame is home.' Itachi hummed as he made his way into the kitchen. He made a b-line for the coffee machine, grabbing his favorite mug from the cabinet.
"Morning." Itachi hummed, pouring himself a cup of coffee and spooning an obscene amount of sugar into it. He moves over to Kakuzu, taking a sip of his coffee.
"I don't know how you drink it like that. It's practically a sludge at this point" Kakuzu says, pressing a kiss to Itachi's temple.
"Let me enjoy my coffee sludge." Itachi joked, taking another sip as though to prove a point.
Itachi sets his mug down at his place on the table before going to help Kakuzu move trays of food. Around this time Kisame walks back into the room, freshly showered and in his clothes for the day. He walks up to Itachi, giving him a quick kiss on the lips before taking his place at the table.
"Is anyone going to get Hidan up?" Kisame asked, already knowing the answer.
"Last time I tried to wake him up this early he told me to eat shit and die, so that's gonna be a no from me," Itachi said, setting up his portion of the food.
"Honestly, I don't really care," Kakuzu said, pouring himself a cup of coffee before taking his seat at the table.
Breakfast passed rather uneventfully. Small talk is shared between the three of them, laughing at little jokes and generally just enjoying each other's company.

Hidan's third and final alarm goes off at 11:30. He groans as he dismisses it, telling himself that he'll just lay there for a few more minutes.
At noon, Hidan finally rises. He pulls together whatever outfit he can find that won’t make him look like a mess. He goes into the bathroom, looking in the mirror and smoothing back his bedhead. He takes time to wash his face and apply some face cream, inspecting his skin for any blemishes. Pleased with his appearance, he leaves and goes into the kitchen. Based on the dishes drying in the rack, he can guess that he missed breakfast. That’s normal for him though, and he pays it no mind. He goes over to the microwave, knowing his plate will be sitting in there for him. Three small post-it notes are placed on the plastic wrap. One a traditional yellow, one blue, and one red. Hidan can guess who’s who
On the red one, “Have a great day today! :]”
The blue one, “Don’t forget we’re grabbing lunch with the team!”
Finally the yellow one, “It’s your turn to cook dinner tonight, use the vegetables before they go bad.”
Hidan took his food out of the microwave, opting to eat it cold. He took bites of it while going through the vegetables they had in the fridge.
‘Maybe a stir-fry? That would be easy enough.’ He thought, making a mental list of the things he’ll need to pick up to make it happen.
He checks the time again and realizes he’s going to be late going to class again. He quickly crams the last of his breakfast into his mouth, before rushing to get out as quickly as he can. He throws the items he may need in his bag, knowing that he may be missing something. But that will be an issue for the him of the future, for now, he just needs to get out the door as quickly as possible. He quickly puts on his shoes, wobbling slightly as he stands on one foot then the other. He fumbles around for his keys, making sure to lock the door on his way out.
