It was a rather peaceful Saturday night, best friends Io and Ryuu were at Io's house having a sleepover. The time was 2am, both were asleep.
Ryuu however, was not having an easy time sleeping. He was constantly moving around in his sleep. He was having a nightmare!
~Ryuu's Nightmare~
It was pitch black, but one thing stood out. Io was standing there, look terrified. Ryuu hated seeing Io like that.
Just then, a monster appeared! Io was there, helpless, unable to transform into Battle Lover Sulfur. Ryuu was far away from Io, but he was able to see everything that was happening.
This monster was some kind of shadow monster. It used it powerful claws to beat up Io as if he was an old rag doll. Ryuu, currently as Battle Lover Vesta, was unable to move or attack, not being able to save his best friend. He watched hopelessly as the monster swiped up the defenseless Io, taking him away, never to be seen again.
Everything was falling apart. It didn't matter if it was pitch black, Ryuu's world had just been destroyed. That monster took away the most important thing in his life. Just then, the ground vanished, leaving Ryuu to fall into nothingness.
~No longer in the nightmare~
Ryuu woke up screaming. He was drenched in sweat, his face covered with tears. The yell woke Io up.
"Huh, Ryuu, what's up? I heard a scream." Said the tired Io.
Ryuu looked up, hot tears rolling down his checks. He was relieved that Io was ok and that it was just a nightmare.
"Oh, I just had a nightmare. You were there and some weird monster took you away. I was unable to protect you. It was scarier than I'm making it sound." He replied out of breath.
Ryuu looked down, wiping the tears off his face. He knew that he must of sounded embarrassing. The nightmare was stupid and he knew it couldn't happen.
Io noticed that Ryuu still seemed panicked by the nightmare, he hated to see his best friend like that.
"Ryuu, come in my bed, it'll calm you down."
Without really thinking, Ryuu got up and moved into Io's bed. Io put his arms around him, letting Ryuu's head move towards his chest so his heartbeat could comfort him. Io's warmth made Ryuu feel at peace.
"There there, I'm not going anywhere. You're safe here with me." He said as he let one hand rub his back and the other go into his hair. Io also gave Ryuu small kisses on his forehead. "Fall asleep in my arms so you know everything is safe."
Ryuu felt the comfort he needed, and in a few minutes, he was back asleep.
