Kaminari's suggestion was simple: he and Kirishima pretend to date so that Kirishima can make Bakugo jealous. But when Bakugo overhears the plan out of context, Kirishima ends up in a fake relationship--with the man of his dreams. Sure, he should explain the misunderstanding, but there's a chance Bakugo could fall for him while they fake-date...right?
Regardless of how he feels about his friend, Bakugo is going to get Kirishima and Dunce Face together, even if it kills him.
