To say you were excited was an understatement.Not only was your job not facing bankruptcy anymore but you finally could go out and live a little.You haven’t had a day to dress up and go out in way too long but that was going to change tonight.You were currently making your way through your closet,trying to find just the perfect thing to wear,you were going for something a bit more out there,you were so used to your boring work clothes and wanted to show some skin.
You finally landed on the perfect dress and luckily it didn’t even need ironing.Looking at yourself in the mirror after it was on was like a dream,you looked so damn good.After finishing a few more bits you were done and it was just in time because you heard the doorbell ring the second you finished putting on your shoes.When you opened the door Luis was stood on the other side.
You said your greetings and made your way towards the car that was parked outside your house.Luis was the designated driver for the night.When you got there you saw Dave was already occupying the front seat which left you to sit in the back,which really was the opposite of a problem.In the back sat your coworker,Kurt.You watched him as you entered the car.His hair was done as usual but what caught your attention was how he was dressed.He had on a black button up with the first few buttons undone,causing some of his chest hair to poke out,the sleeves on the shirt were rolled up exposing his forearms and he had put on more jewelry than usual,rings decorating his hands and a necklace dangling on his chest,he looked very very good.You noticed he also smelt good,cologne clouding around him.
You cleared your throat before greeting him and hoped it wasn’t noticeable how you stared,i mean how could you not?You’ve always thought he was cute but this was on another level,god you had a crush on your coworker.Lucky for you your attention was taken over by Luis who told everyone at what club you were going to.You’ve never heard of it so you hoped it was good,you trusted him to not take you to some place shitty.
The ride there was a fast one which you were glad about,being sat so close to Kurt had you feeling some sort of way you weren’t planning on feeling on this night.The two of you exchanged small talk but nothing too interesting,that was going to come after drinks get consumed.When you arrived you saw the place was crowded.The music was loud,colorful lights were all around you,the smell of alcohol lingered in the air,it looked promising.
Luis decided to order the first round of drinks for everyone,he was the boss after all.Drink after drink you were having a good time,what you haven’t noticed though was you weren’t the only one eyeing someone that night.Dave and Luis didn’t understand how oblivious you were to Kurt’s behaviour around you.They knew he had been into you for a while now but tonight it was crystal clear to everyone except you.You didn’t notice how his eyes always wandered to you,now with shots in his system he practically hardly tore them off.He wished he could just go talk to you but he didn’t want to make you uncomfortable if you didn’t return his feelings,continuing to work in the same place after something like that didn’t sound fun,so he just sat back and watched you from afar.
He watched as you excused yourself to the bathroom and after a few minutes you were coming back to the table only you weren’t alone anymore.Next to you stood a man he’s never seen before and by the looks of it you didn’t seem to know either,though you didn’t look like you wanted him gone.You were genuinely laughing along to whatever it was he was saying and looked like you were into him.In a bit the man was dragged away by what looked like his friends but not before he saw him hand you some sort of piece of paper,most likely his number.When you came back to the table you still had a smile on your face and Kurt had to swallow whatever rude remark he wanted to say about him.You looked happy,he didn’t want to ruin it.
“And who was that young lady?” Dave jokingly nudged you.You only laughed even more and took out your phone to write in the man’s number.
“First time meeting him,don’t know anything but his name which is Jake”
Dave then nudged you once again.”And would you like to know more about this Jake?” he questioned
“Hmm,why not” you grinned.He hadn’t made you uncomfortable which yes was the bare minimum but stupidly rare in clubs,he was funny and wasn’t too bad on the eyes either,you weren’t going to throw it all away.Kurt excused himself to go to the bathroom,the last thing he wanted was to hear you go on about some other guy,only now did he realize this crush on you was a lot stronger than he thought it was.Luis and Dave shared a knowing look,was he finally going to do something about his whole thing for you or was he going to let you be swept off your feet by someone else?
Kurt found himself standing above the bathroom sink.He splashed his face with cold water to help him cool down,he kept repeating to himself that you aren’t his,you’re allowed to go do whatever with whoever but god it didn’t feel good to watch it go down right in front of his eyes,it sucked even to think about you with someone else-he was down bad.
While he was away,Dave and Luis were thinking if they were going to insert themselves in this whole situation.On one side Kurt would kill them if he found out they’ve been telling on him but on the other they felt as if they didn’t say something he wasn’t either.With plenty of alcohol is his system Dave was feeling a bit more talkative than usual,he decided it was best to get the cat outta the bag.
“Y/N can we chat” he shouted through the loud music.You made your way toward him
“Yes of course,what’s up?” you questioned
“Look” he took a deep breath,”-this really isn’t my place but Kurt likes you” he slurred out
You looked at him and laughed.”Well i would hope so,we’ve worked together for too long for him not to”
Dave had a look of utter confusion on his face,he really had to spell it out for you?”No i mean he likes you,like he’s into you” he reiterated
You then thought for a little bit before looking back at him with an oh look on your face,you finally understood.Just then you saw Kurt coming back to your table.Only now you realized why he seemed so weird when you talked about Jake,his jaw was clenched and he had to excuse himself right way,was he jealous?You should’ve talked to him about it right away but you were feeling a bit too confident for your own good this night because you decided it was best to play around a little,act like you didn’t know,maybe even talk to Jake some more.You weren’t trying to purposely get on his nerves-okay yeah maybe you were,but you just wanted to see what it would take for he himself to do something about it.
“Kurt honey can you get me another drink?” you called out to him,making sure to add the pet name in there.He lifted his head up to meet your gaze and you smiled a sickly sweet smile at him,he couldn’t decline you.He said he was going to be back in a moment and went to get you one.Dave watched you giggle as Kurt turned his back to leave.
“I’ve created a monster” he whispered to Luis
“That you did” Luis replied and took a sip out of his own glass,this was going to be entertaining.
It took no time for Kurt to come back with your drink and you purposely made sure to linger your hand on his when he handed you the drink and god he had nice hands.The tattoos decorated them perfectly.You thanked him for your drink but didn’t let him go just yet.
“Also can you tell me if my lipstick’s good?I’m afraid i might’ve smudged it” you said,coming way too close to his face.You felt his breath fanning your face.He tore his eyes from yours to look down at your lips,his gaze lingered for a few seconds.
He swallowed,god you were going to be the death of him.“You’re good” he managed to respond.You watched as he fidgeted with his rings and hoped you hadn’t done the man too bad,yeah you wanted to fluster him but not to go too far.As if the universe decided to follow your plan to a T,Jake appeared again,this time right next to your table.
“And here i was scared i lost you” he grinned
You giggled a bit louder than you usually would.”Of course not”
You saw he had a drink in his hands and he put it down on your table,he was getting comfortable.Kurt watched as the two of you got lost in conversation,though the music didn’t allow him to hear what exactly was said,and he was glad for that-he really wasn’t in the mood to hear him speak.He felt himself grow angrier by the second.The final straw was when Jake put his hand around your waist and whispered something in your ear and you leaned into him,laughing loudly at whatever he was saying.Before he could stop himself he slammed the glass he had on the table.Luckily it didn’t break but the sound was enough to get everyone’s attention.Everyone stared at him wide eyed but you had to bite back a smile that was threatening to grow on your face,this was your doing.
“Sorry,need some fresh air” Kurt breathed out and before you knew it he was out of the front door.Shit maybe you did go a bit too far.Jake started questioning what was Kurt’s “that dude’s” problem while Luis and Dave looked at you with a knowing look.They really didn’t expect you to be the type to play games like these,and suddenly you felt guilty.Not only had you purposely screwed up Kurt’s night but you’ve also used Jake just as tool to make him jealous but at this moment you really didn’t care about Jake,i mean you saw plenty of other people flirting with him this night,it wasn’t like he was out of options,your real concern was Kurt.
“I’m gonna go talk to him” you said and excused yourself from the group.You practically ran outside.After looking around for a minute you finally stumbled on your target.You found Kurt standing with his back against a wall of a secluded part at the back of the building.
“Hey” you said,making your way to him.He snapped his head towards you,he wasn't expecting you to come looking after him
“Hey” he replied,”sorry about what i did”
You smiled and went to stand right next to him.”Don’t be,i’ve done worse at clubs believe me”
“But what i’m wondering is why?” you continued,of course you knew,or at least thought you knew the answer,but you wanted it out of his mouth.
He sighed and turned to look at you.Like this the two of you were mere centimeters apart,a neon light was illuminating your features perfectly,the music was muffled in the background,it felt like the perfect time to say something and god he couldn’t hold it in anymore.
“You’re the reason why” he said,his accent even thicker now that he had something to drink and damn you loved his accent.You suddenly were very aware of how fast your heart was beating,as much as you felt confident the whole night this still managed to bring your nerves out.
“What do you mean” you asked,shuffling even closer to him
He took a deep breath.“Because i like you” a confession finally rolled off his tongue and it was like music to your ears.You don’t know who made the next move but suddenly his lips were on yours.The kiss was light as a feather at first but you brought your hands up to his shirt and pulled him deeper.His lips were soft and they fit like a missing puzzle piece against yours.You couldn't help but run one hand across his hair and you didn’t expect it to be as soft as it was.This caused him to push himself even further against you and just like that you were pinned to the wall.You were glad he did that,the wall providing great support because the way he kissed you made you feel like your knees could give out at any moment.The two of you finally pulled away when the need for oxygen became known.Both of you were gasping,foreheads one against the other.
“We should do that more often” it was Kurt who first spoke
You were still gathering yourself,your heart still racing.”Yeah i’d like that
