Work Text:

“Senaaa! Do you know where my watch is?”

“On top of the TV. You left it there last night.”

“Gotcha!”

“Sena! Did you see my pen?”

“It’s in our room,” Izumi sighs. “See, Leo-kun? This is why I told you—“

Leo cuts him short with a quick kiss on the lips. “Save it for later, I’m running late!”

His boyfriend blushes. Leo thought to himself of how beautifully admirable his Sena is, and how he’d write a song about their morning, but the clock told him to do otherwise.

“Uwah! I’m late, really late!”

“This is why I told you to wake up early,” Izumi mumbles, his gaze following Leo’s hurried steps towards the door. “Ah, Leo-kun! You forgot something!”

“Right!” Hastily, Leo lands a sloppy kiss on Izumi’s cheek. “See ya, Sena! I love you! I’ll pick you up later!”

The model doesn’t say a word. He stands in place, flabbergasted as his hand rubs his cheek. “No, I love you too, but your lunch—whatever. He’s gone.”

It was a ten minutes wait before Izumi showed up.

Leo did a lot while waiting patiently like his boyfriend asked him to. He counted the people walking by, listed the things he loves about Izumi, and wrote a song based on them.

But the things he loves about him are endless, and by the time Izumi opens the door, Leo is still fiddling with his notebook and pen.

“… What are you doing?” Izumi asks, his lips twist to a frown. He puts his bag on the back seat before occupying the one beside Leo.

“Writing a song about you!”

Izumi’s gaze softens. It’s not a rare occasion, but he feels himself melt whenever Leo does so. “You are? What is it about this time?”

“It’s a list of what I love about you!” Leo says, grinning brightly. His eyes sparkle with adore. “It isn’t finished yet, though. I love everything about Sena that I got confused in the middle.”

An amused giggle escapes Izumi’s lips. He leans in, resting a soft peck on his cheek. “That’s cute, but we need to go grocery shopping now, Leo-kun, or we won’t make it for dinner.”

“Ah, right! That’s why I picked you up today,” Leo laughs. He turns the key, one hand on the steering wheel while the other grips the gearstick. “Your seatbelt, Sena.”

“All done,” Izumi raises his hands up. “Hurry up, we don’t want to miss the sale.”

“Well then, coming right up!”

Izumi stares at him with horror. No, no, no. “Wait, don’t—”

“Hold on tight!” He shouts over the engine. “We’re not gonna miss anything!”

“Leo-kun!”

“My hair…”

“Sorry,” Leo mutters, ignoring the hostile glare Izumi gives him. “At least we made it in time!”

“You’re so annoying.” Izumi takes his wallet out of his bag, brushing his disheveled hair with his fingers. “Ugh. They look really messy.”

“I said I’m sorry, Senaaaa,” Leo whines as he takes his lover’s fingers in his, entwining them together. “You told me to hurry up!”

“Whatever.” Leo pouts at his words. “I’ll forgive you if you push the trolley today.”

“But I always do that!”

“So?”

“Fineee!” In a sing-song tone, he responds. “Okay, anything for my dear!”

“Stop that.”

“Is my wittle baby embarrassed? Aww, my darling is the cutest!”

“Leo-kun!”

“Aah, don’t hit me!” Leo untangles their hold, shifting away from the sulking Izumi. He guffaws, his laughter echoing in the empty space. How lovely! His Sena is always so lovely!

“The trolley,” Izumi reminds him, hands crossed against his chest. “I’m going in first, okay? Find me in the vegetable aisle.”

“Wait! Not veggies! Sena!”

Too late, his boyfriend is already behind the door. Leo huffs, both hands grabbing the trolley’s armrest. He pushes it deftly, following Izumi’s steps.

“Ooh! Cereal!” He stops for a second, taking one.

“The candies are on sale too!”

“What is this…? Well, I’ll just take it!” He throws one into the trolley.

Leo halts when he finds Izumi in front of the counter, carefully walking past the people crowding. “Senaaa!”

“Leo-kun, where have you—why is the trolley full?”

“There was a lot of food I wanted to buy.”

Izumi scans the pile. He scowls, picking them up one by one. “Nope, no. We already have these at home. You haven’t eaten them, remember?”

“But they’re different, see. The one we have at home is banana-flavored, but this one is strawberry. And this candy….”

His voice is drowned by the people’s chatter, but Izumi shifts closer to listen. He waits quietly for Leo to finish and heaves a small sigh when he’s done.

“Take two.” He points up two fingers. “And leave the rest.”

“Three?”

“Two, Leo-kun.”

“Pleaase?” His eyes perk up. Leo knows how to exploit his look, and more importantly, he knows Izumi won’t be able to resist his puppy eyes.

“Three.” Izumi turns away. “Put the rest back to their place.”

“Aye, aye!” Leo sneaks a kiss on Izumi’s lips. “I love you, Sena!”

“Stupid!” Although so, his tone was gentle and kind. Izumi glances at Leo with warmth in his gaze. “I love you too. Now go, don’t disturb me.”

“What? You’re gonna focus on the veggies?”

Leo was joking. Yet when he comes back, his boyfriend is already arguing with himself.

Just like he spurted out, the topic is which vegetable to choose for dinner.

A smile appears on Leo’s face. He wonders who he should be thankful to; Izumi’s parents, or God, for giving him the opportunity to adore the view that is his boyfriend, his Sena, forehead wrinkled and lips curled with red peppers on his hands.

He doesn’t learn much about the world, but what Leo has mastered is a million ways to love Izumi, and that includes staring at his back in awe.

“Sena! I just added another reason to the list!”

“Save it for later, Leo-kun. I’m trying to weigh these.”

“No, listen to me, okay! So, another thing I love about you…”

“Leo-kun,” Izumi cuts him off softly. “I’d love to hear it, but can we postpone it?”

“But….”

“We have all the time in the world.” Leo feels the sincerity and joy in Izumi’s words. “Okay?”

“Okay.”

“Can you run a little errand for me, then?” He gives him a ripped paper, on it listed a few things he’s familiar with. “Thank you, Leo-kun.”

“I’m off!”

“Yeah,” Izumi chuckles. “Be careful.”

Leo nods, his cheeks heating up to the words. God, he thought. I’ve never been so in love.

Because who expected with just two words, he’d have fireworks popping in his stomach and blithe melodies in his head?

“We’re home!”

Once he takes off his shoes, Leo jumps right to the sofa. Their cats meow at him, climbing up to his back as Leo laughs at the sensation.

“Val, Merry, let him be.”

“Aww, they probably missed me!” He lets the cats rub their fur on his face, patting them one by one as he sinks in the cushion. “There, there. I left too early today, didn’t I? Were you two good while I was gone?”

“It seems so.” Izumi looks around the room as he makes his way to the kitchen. “Val is eating his meal. He won’t eat it before, but he ended up loving it.”

“Val is a good boy!” Leo showers him with kisses. “Good, good cat! I’m gonna give you a treat later, okay?”

“Help me out before that, Leo-kun. Can you heat up the soup?”

“On it!” He gets up, and their pets slide off his body. Leo languidly walks to Izumi’s side. “Where is it?”

“In the fridge. Heat it up for ten minutes. Don’t touch it with bare hands.”

“I’m not a child, Sena!”

“You act like one,” Izumi jokes, giggling when Leo frowns. “See?”

“Would a child do this?”

Without any warning, Leo hugs his boyfriend from behind, nuzzling his nose to Izumi’s nape. He leaves a few kisses on his skin, stepping away as he hears Izumi grumble at him.

“You…”

“I love you,” Leo pecks his nose. “Wahaha! Sena, you’re red all over! Just like a tomato!”

“Shut up!” He throws a pinch of salt at him. “You’re so annoying, Leo-kun!”

“Annoyingly yours.” And when Izumi glowers at him, Leo chooses to focus on the soup he should be heating.

After turning on the stove and stirring the food for a bit, he decides to let them rest. Leo spins around playfully, viridian oculus fixed on Izumi while the said person is busy with his preparations. Again, the same fireworks set off inside him.

On their first meeting, Leo’s feelings grew. It was his voice at first, passion second. And then Leo found himself enticed by Izumi’s cerulean eyes, slowly loving him as a whole; as Sena Izumi, the only person he’d die for to spend his life with.

He once thought it was fleeting, that it’d just be another phase because Leo had never been in love before. Not before Izumi. And he doubts he’d ever fall in love if it’s not for him.

Spring blooms for his heart when their eyes meet, and winter wrecks him when they part.

But now they are here, together. Cooking in the same room, wearing matching aprons, humming to the same song played by the radio. And Leo never thought it’s still Izumi he’d come home to.

More than anything, he’s glad it’s Izumi he comes home to.

“Why are you staring at me like that?”

“Just thinking that I’m glad we’re together,” Leo blurts out. “And basking in blithe that I’m here with you, Sena.”

He could see Izumi’s ears reddening, the blush slowly making its way to his cheeks. Leo’s lips twist in amusement. “You’re boiling like soup!”

“So annoying!” Leo loves that trademark of his. “Prepare the table once you’re done instead of teasing me. The soup is going to get cold.”

“Okay! I’ll feed Val and Merry after, then.”

“Japanese food!”

Izumi smiles at Leo’s enthusiasm. “It’s been long since we had one.”

“Smells like Japan,” Leo utters, placing himself on the chair across Izumi. “I wonder how the kids are doing?”

“Tomorrow is our day off, isn’t it?” Leo nods. “We should give them a call.”

“Sounds good!”

“I heard the newbies are doing a good job, so Kasa-kun isn’t feeling as stressed out as before.”

Leo munches on his food while Izumi tells him about Arashi’s reports. He watches as his boyfriend’s lips move, his fingers playing with the chopsticks. He swallows the food he chewed with a loud gulp, proceeding to drink before opening his mouth to speak.

“Sena.” Izumi gazes up at him. “Can I list the reasons now?”

“My time is yours,” his lover answers, smiling gently that Leo feels his heart melt at the sight. “Go on, Leo-kun.”

“Okay.” Why is he feeling nervous? “First of all, I love your eyes.”

“My eyes?”

He responds with a hum. “And I love your smile. And the way you focus on little details. I love how your lips curl and your eyes narrow when you’re concentrating.”

Izumi stays quiet. Leo continues. He notices the faint blush on the model’s cheeks, but ignores it anyway. He knows, despite having all the time in the world, he has to say this now.

He has to convey his love to Izumi and lists everything that lives in his head.

“I love how you tell me that I’m annoying, yet you love me for who I am. I adore the way you,” Leo breaths. “The way you say that you love me, and how you love me in your own way.”

“Leo-kun….”

“My list is endless, Sena.” Their eyes meet, Izumi’s sea with his forest, and Leo could feel the love in them. He feels Izumi’s love for him. “Because I will love you endlessly, even when we’re no longer young.”

“Will you?” Izumi’s voice comes out quiet.

“Have I said how natural it is to love you?”

“See, Sena.” Leo rises up, his steps drive him to his lover. “Loving you feels like writing a melody, it’s as natural as breathing.”

“Loving you,” he kneels down, intertwining Izumi’s fingers with his. “Loving you is the easiest thing I’ve ever done.”

“Is it?” There was a low gasp before the question, and Leo nodded calmly.

“I’m the luckiest man in the whole world for being able to love you.” Leo pulls Izumi’s hand closer to his lips, kissing the knuckles softly. “I’d give you the whole world if you ask me to, Sena.”

“I wouldn’t.” Tears swell up in his eyes, yet Izumi giggles delightfully at Leo’s words. “Having you here is enough, Leo-kun.”

Izumi beams and Leo has to hold himself from purchasing a ring right here and right now. He can’t storm off like that. Not in this situation.

Instead, he stands up; their hands still tangled together. Leo touches Izumi’s forehead with his, and their noses follow after. He leans in for a kiss. Izumi lets him.

“I love you,” Leo says in between, leaving a small space for them to breathe. “I love you, Sena.”

“I love you, Leo-kun.” Izumi tightens their hold. “I am in love with you.”

They both smile. Leo silently wishes that this day would never end, but he knows there is another tomorrow waiting for them.

And just like today, it will be another perfect day. Because whenever they are together, Leo feels complete.

As long as they are together, they would make even a bare land their home.
