This isn't love, she knew that much. The way she danced round and round with the ginger haired man both literally and physically made her dizzy. The circles of hell, perhaps even a spiral that could only lead to doom- yes, that was a good analogy for their relationship.
Passion had nothing to do with it, it was simply a ploy for both of them to get something from the other, to see who would crack under their pressure first. To see who could hold on the longest. He treated it like a game and thus earned his amusement, to her it was a means to an end.
But then why did it feel so earnest at times? Why is it that he made himself vulnerable in front of her?
The questions she had remained unanswered, even as the music stopped and the two of them bowed towards each other.
"I'll see you later tonight, princess."
And yet again, his sweet words of indecent intent, made her heart stir in ways she found very troubling.
This wasn't love, no. She would be damned if it was.
