We should be dancing, romancing. What’s happening?

Summary:

Perhaps Robbe and Sander had a fight a few days ago. Something about Robbe not doing his part of the house chores (because yes, they’re living together at this point) and Sander being tired of having to remind him.

Notes:

This is just a snippet/imagine kind of thing about Sander and Robbe living together.

Work Text:

Perhaps Robbe and Sander had a fight a few days ago. Something about Robbe not doing his part of the house chores (because yes, they’re living together at this point) and Sander being tired of having to remind him. And ok, Robbe is not the tidiest. He sometimes forgets to rinse his breakfast bowl in the morning which leads to Sander coming home to a kitchen smelling of sour milk. He also forgets to take out the trash, to hang the laundry when it’s done and to wipe down the counters after making some strange dinner for himself when he’s home alone.

It’s not that Robbe’s forgetful or expects Sander to do it all. He moved out when he was 15 so he knows the basic stuff and the importance of doing your part of the work. But he’d been really nervous about starting college so maybe some stuff had slipped his mind recently.

Which Sander of course understands. But he likes their space to be clean. Not necessarily tidy because let’s face it, he’s the king of leaving stuff lying around and needing Robbe’s help finding his keys in the morning. But he takes pride in their home being clean, and it all became a bit too much one day when there were no clean cups for his morning coffee because Robbe forgot to turn on the dishwasher before going to bed the night before.

And so, Sander might have yelled, asking Robbe to do his fucking part. And Robbe might have looked at him like he’d grown a second head because Sander never raises his voice at him.

But the issue is that Sander is also fucking stressed. He’s taken on an internship this semester and even though it’s his fourth day already, he’s still nervous. And with him already being late because he snoozed once too many times, he just sighs before turning around to pour the coffee down the kitchen drain. Without saying anything else, he puts his jacket on and grabs his bag. He looks back at Robbe who hasn’t moved out of his spot in the hallway, still dumbfounded by the sudden outburst.

“See you later,” Sander murmurs before closing the door behind him.

He races to the art gallery he’s interning at and as he locks his bike, he hears a beep from his phone.

“I’m sorry. I know I’ve been shit at doing my part. I’ll do better! Let’s do a movie night tonight. You can choose the movie.

I love you. Have a good day ❤️“

Sander replies with a string of brown hearts. The one he always uses when the need to shower Robbe with love takes over his entire body, but he doesn’t have the time or words to say it all. He’ll reply with a longer text later. And apologize profusely for yelling when he gets back. And then he’ll kiss his boy silly as they cuddle on the couch.

Good thing the art gallery has an espresso machine though.
