The storm raged over the mountains. Sharp winds and blasts took over through the air. Blossom and Brick fought a large monster. The monster smashed Brick against a wall as Blossom kept shooting lasers and ice.
“Brick just go! Get the others! They’ll be able to help!”
Brick wobbled to his feet, “I can’t leave you here! You’ll get hurt!”
Blossom gritted her teeth and narrowly avoided another attack, “But if you don’t get the others, Townsville could get hurt!”
Brick opened his mouth to argue but looked back at the town. The monster hadn’t reached it yet. The only reason they were there… it didn’t matter now. They had a duty to protect the people. Brick flew off as another boom sounded from behind him. Why hadn’t he just asked everyone to go with them? Oh, right, Boomer.
Brick thought back to that conversation. Only a few days ago…
“Go on man! You deserve a vacation.”
“But-”
“Shh. How can you expect to protect the town if you can’t even take breaks?”
Brick rubbed his neck and mumbled, “I guess. But what about you guys?”
Boomer smiled, “It’ll be fine. There’s still four superheroes here.”
“Four? Don’t you mean-”
“Five? No. Why don’t you take Blossom with you? It’ll be fun!”
Brick blushed, “Yeah. Sure. Whatever. She won’t even want to go.”
She wanted to go.
“Why not? It’ll be fun!”
Brick blinked, dumbfounded. She really wanted to go on a camping trip with him? He snapped out of it after noticing Blossom’s confused look, “No, yeah it will be. I’ll set up a cabin or whatever.”
“Thanks Brick! This’ll be really fun!” She placed a hand on his shoulder, "I really needed this."
Now look at where that got them. Brick fleeing a fight to get his dumb siblings. Ugh he had to go faster! Blossom was still fighting for him the town! Come on… Where was his stupid house?! Finally there it was. He landed and slumped into the doorframe, roughly opening the door to fall to the ground. Luckily, or unluckily, Butch was in the room.
“Woah, what happened to you? Did you crawl out of hell?” Butch looked over at him.
Brick managed to stand up, “There’s a monster in the mountains. Blossom needs our help!”
Butch groaned and turned off the TV, “You mean you couldn’t stop it?”
“No! I wouldn’t get help if I didn’t need it.”
Boomer came out of his room and raised an eyebrow, “So, uh, camping trip is over?”
Brick just left to get the Powerpuff Girls and left Butch to fill in Boomer. He found their house and just as gracefully opened the door. Buttercup looked at him and snorted . Bubbles just walked over and gently helped him up. Brick managed to weakly fill them in and they started off to the mountains again. The storm was still going fierce. As they got closer they heard the distant booms of the fight.
Brick rushed headfirst into the fight, throwing flame left and right. Can’t believe he needed help. Blossom was still going, although noticeably slower. All the other puffs and ruffs rushed in to fight. Blossom was holding her side. Not sparing a second thought, the monster slammed her into the mountain and punched for good measure.
“Blossom!” Brick rushed over to grab her.
Blossom went limp in his arms. Brick gently placed her down. He checked her pulse. Good. Still alive. He held her in his arms and shook her. No response. He shook her again, frantically this time.
“Blossom this isn’t funny. You gotta wake up.”
Blossom’s head rolled to the side and Brick gritted his teeth. He held her tight and shook her.
“Blossom just let me know you’re okay. I’m going to get you to the hospital. I promise.” He looked over at the fight, His siblings and the puffs were winning. That meant he could bring Blossom to the hospital. He picked her up again and started flying as fast as he could. She had to live. He wouldn’t let her die because he wanted to go on a dumb camping trip. He reached Townsville Hospital and ran up to the desk.
“You gotta help! She’s not doing well,” Brick practically shouted, holding onto Blossom.
Nurses and doctors rushed out and took her. The doctors took her and Brick slumped to the ground. A nurse came up and tried to usher him to a room. He pulled away from them and stood up. His brothers and those puffs were still fighting. He had to help. The hospital door opened and they walked in.
“Thought we’d find you here,” grinned Butch. His face was cut up but he didn’t seem to mind. He always enjoyed fighting.
Brick limped over to them, “What about the monster? Did you get it? Tell me you got it!”
Bubbles held onto him and Boomer stepped over to help.
“Easy there bud,” Boomer started. “It’s taken care of. Let’s get us all into a room, yeah?”
Brick grunted and slumped down in a chair, “I’ll be fine. I just need to know Blossom is going to be okay.”
Boomer sighed. Brick kept sitting in the chair. There was no convincing him otherwise once he was acting like this. Buttercup stepped over and scoffed.
“Really? Blossom would smack you for acting like this,” Buttercup walked over to Brick and smacked him.
Brick looked over at her but just winced from moving too fast. Buttercup nodded, “See? Now let’s get you to a doctor”
Brick sighed and let a nurse take him back to a room. He just wanted Blossom to be okay. If only he hadn't gone on that stupid camping trip.
