Summary
Ordinal Shieda Kayn was expecting trouble the instant he picked up Rhaast on Ionan. He knew the scythe was dangerous and needed to be kept in check. He didn't expect the body theft, the disjointed reality, or the nasty words whispered in his ear that always ended with some poor soul needing to be killed. He certainly didn't expect an intergalactic chase across the Demaxian Empire that would see him join forces with the crew of the Morning Star, delve into the heart of an ancient empire, and be at the mercy of beings that lived and breathed for the hunt.
At least his friend, lover, and right-hand was there to have his back. He'd be lost without her. Now if only they could get Rhaast to behave for five minutes, life might not be so crazy.
