    Perhaps for the best, if what was causing the quietness was dangerous. It was powerful, regardless of threat.

    When Nina caught sight of the other on the shore, she found herself stunned, inky eyes taking in the sight. The other was tall, so very tall, a paleness unlike Nina’s, they were almost pearlescent. They initially stood on two legs, but as they descended into the waters of the lake, a murkiness surrounded them. The transformation was enough for Nina to be urged forward, bare feet hardly feeling the pebbles of the lake’s shore.
    They were aware of each other, and everything was so quiet. Just the sounds of the soft lapping of the shifting water.

    Nina meets a new being in her forest, and is all too eager to assist her.
