Ah yes, it had been more than a few encounters since he had been blamed for the mess of their lives. He doesn't have the energy to get angry about it now. "Yes, I did. And it wasn't enough for me, so I lived to do more terrible things to more Wens and none of it made anything better."
Lan Wangji takes his hand away and the cool stream into his body fades away. "You once said that you think about it too, and if not for your nephew, you would have."
He doesn't have an answer to that, so he stays silent. Lan Wangji carries on after a lengthy pause. "Do you still think about it?"
It's been thirteen years since the last of his family died; some days it feels like a long time, others like no time at all. But the answer is the same and he doesn't want to give it.
