Work Text:
Tony was pinching the bridge of his nose and wishing he’d explode and get out of this conversation. This is not what he signed up for when he became Iron Man, not at all.
“You’re telling me that you and Johnny Storm, the human torch, got blasted through time and that’s why you’ve been ignoring me for the past week,” Tony asked skeptically.
Peter sighed, “Yes, because it’s what happened!”
“Sure it was kiddo,” Tony replied.
A scowl fell across Peter’s face. “The Four have been working on a machine that can make dimensional travel easier and safer,” he started to explain flatly, clearly annoyed that his mentor didn’t believe him. “Reed had to go to a meeting or something, I really don’t remember at this point, so he asked me to keep an eye on the machine and see if I could make some adjustments to a couple of things. Some of the specifications were off so it was traveling through time instead of dimensions. Johnny had been keeping me company so-“
“Did that company include him trying to make out with you instead of letting you do what you were supposed to?”
“No…”
Tony raised his eyebrow skeptically.
“We did that later”.
Tony groaned. Was this punishment from the universe for everything he’d gotten up to with Rhodey in his teenage years?
“Wait wait wait,” Tony said, coming to a realization, “By your account, that means that you got blasted back in time, and then instead of trying to fix the problem you made out with your boyfriend?” He could not believe he was having this conversation.
“What! Johnny looks good in period clothes. I may be a STEM major but I appreciate art,” he replied matter of factly.
Tony groaned and buried his head in his palms. “Nope! I’ve had enough! That’s enough for me”. He headed towards the door, shaking his head. “I get the memo universe! I get it!” he shouted on his way out.
