Since being bitten by the spider, Peter has noticed a lot of changes that have occurred, however there are still some he's discovering- some more unfortunate than others.
Peter was spending the weekend at The Tower with Tony as May was away, to say Peter was excited was an understatement, he couldn't wait to spend the whole weekend with his father figure, sorry mentor.
"I was thinking we could have a movie night tonight, and work in the lab tomorrow." Tony suggested, knowing Peter would probably want to relax after having exams that week.
"Sounds great, so long as we can watch Star Wars." Peter responded, giving Tony his best puppy-dog eyes that he knew Tony couldn't say no to.
"Okay fine, but I pick what we eat and we're getting pizza." Tony replied, Peter agreed quickly, before telling Tony what pizza he wanted as well as onion rings, cheesy fries, mozzarella sticks and garlic bread, which of course Tony ordered as well.
They were about half an hour through the first movie when the food arrived and Peter started eating straight away, his enhanced metabolism meaning he got hungrier faster. Peter had eaten half his pizza, a few fries and some onion rings when he took a bite of garlic bread. A few moment later he started choking- he couldn't breathe.
Tony rushed from where he sat over to Peter to help him, he managed to get Peter to throw up the garlic bread, but still Peter struggled to breathe. FRIDAY informed Tony that Peter appeared to be having an allergic reaction to the garlic bread, which was causing him to choke and have difficulty breathing as his throat was closing up. She added that this reaction is likely a change caused by the spider bite as many spiders are averse to garlic. Cho had been alerted to the situation and was on her way up.
It was an agonizing few moments waiting for Cho, who quickly saw to treating Peter (Idk the appropriate thing to do, so I didn't go into any description). When she was confident he was stable, she got Tony to bring him down to the Med bay in the Tower to properly monitor him and ensure he was okay.
Tony called May to tell her what had happened. Tony had expected her to be angry, he knows he blames himself, but she wasn't- she was too worried about Peter. And she also didn't know about his adverse reaction to garlic.
After a while, Peter stirred awake, much to the relief of Tony.
"Thank God you're awake Underoos." Tony said softly from where he sat besides Peter.
" 'm Spider-Man, I refuse to be taken down by garlic." Peter joked, his voice hoarse. Tony chuckled softly, because of course Peter would joke after almost dying from an allergic reaction.
"I swear you're going to turn me grey kid." Tony said with a soft laugh.
"You already are grey." Peter teased as he patted the bed next to him for Tony to sit beside him. Quickly, Peter got cuddled into Tony's side, his head rested on Tony's shoulder as Tony carded a hand softly through Peter's hair. Soon Peter fell asleep, as did Tony- who when he woke up banned all garlic from being anywhere in The Tower.
