When your cart reaches the top, you eye the twinkling city lights out the window with wonder. Ren does the same, though his attention was directed towards you, mesmerized by the way the gleam of the reflective surface highlighted your features. To him, you looked brilliant.
His heart swells when you softly smile to yourself without realizing, gaze shining with merriment. Everything about your date today was amazing, you and Ren had a grand time together. And it would just be one of many you’d have in future.
Feeling your lover’s stare, you turn to meet familiar and intense gray eyes behind those fake glasses. You almost pause when seeing the warmth in Ren’s look, the adoration that he continued to deliver. A smile of his own soon comes out.
Butterflies invade your stomach, and you can’t help but carry a sense of shyness. “Thank you for today, Ren. I loved it.”
He slowly moves his arm to wrap over your shoulders, pulling you to lean on his. Not that it made a difference, you sat side by side together with barely a gap between you. Both of your hearts thudded from the embrace.
“No need to thank me, Treasure. I loved this, too.” Ren rested his lips to your forehead. “Should we come here again next time?”
“Yeah,” your cheeks tint a pink shade as you relaxed against him. “let’s.”
