Chapter Text
The ticking of the clock was the only thing that could be heard in the silence of his house. The tiles under him felt cool to the touch. Almost as cold as the sweat running down his back.
In front of Takemichi Hanagaki were three positive pregnancy tests.
There were so many things wrong with this situation that he didn't even know where to start. First, there was the fact that beyond the time-travel thing, he was still a fourteen-year-old adolescent omega. Second, the fact that the possible father of his children was the same mob boss he was supposed to stop.
One would assume that Takemichi Hanagaki, who was actually a twenty-six-year-old man, would know the consequences of his actions. One would suppose that, with all his years of experience as an omega, he was capable of preventing these kinds of situations.
Curled up in the small bathroom of his home - the home he shared with his mother and grandmother, because he was a fucking teenager - Takemichi's thoughts spilled over like a waterfall.
He thought about what the hell he would do now that there was a little life slowly growing inside him. He thought about how the hell he would explain to Naoto the fact that, not only was he incapable of taking care of his older sister, but now he was even pregnant with her murderer.
His eyes were burning and swollen from crying, when he finally got up to finish off any evidence of his crime. He couldn't let his mother or grandmother find out what he had done. If they did, perhaps he’d have to flee his home once again ... And if that happened, then...
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck, fuck. How the hell had it gotten to this point?
═══════════════════
Like any other teenager, the root of his problems began with one (or several) bottles of alcohol. To say that Takemichi was an idiot is an understatement.
Recalling it now, maybe he should have seen it coming. From the moment Pah-chin and Peh-yan sneaked those sake bottles away at their welcome party for Draken, he should have guessed it wasn't going to end well.
But how was he supposed to know? Time traveler or not, Takemichi Hanagaki still had the mentality of a typical hormonal teenager. That, or he was simply too stupid as an adult to consider the possible consequences of his actions.
So he got drunk.
Drunk not only by the glasses of sake that his friends had prompted him to drink but also by the happiness of finally having managed to rewrite the future. Not caring much more than happiness of the moment, the young Omega had no problem letting himself be carried away by the whims of his cheerful leader who, anchoring one of his arms around his shoulders, moved him from here to there. Glass after glass after glass went down his throat, to the point where he couldn't even make out his name.
Takemichi supposes that, at some point in the night, something in his mind screamed at him that what he was doing wasn’t a good thing. Even when his captain's touch made him a bit uncomfortable, Takemichi ignored his instincts. Not only because the lightness of having achieved his goal was something that had him stunned dumb, but because seeing Mikey cry a little less than a week ago had awakened certain feelings within him that he didn’t know if he was willing to face.
The next thing he knew, very predictably, was waking up in a bed foreign to his own. That itself wasn't a bad thing, or at least it wasn't as bad as the throbbing headache that kept him from thinking straight. However, once he composed himself enough to be able to discern his surroundings and remember who the hell he was, Takemichi found himself wishing his head was the only thing that was hurting ...
To his horror, the headache was going to be one of his most minor worries. More than that, the well-known burning of a healing wound, right on his neck, in the area where his scent glands were… That, well. That was very much worrisome. That and the fact that his… ahem, his lower back was hurting too.
The shock was even greater when he realized who his bedmate was.
“M… Mikey-kun ?!”. Oh god, how he wished the only thing that was hurting were his head.
Mikey didn't even bother to open his eyes, sprawled in the sheets as he was, and just whispered to him, “Shh… It's too early for you to start yelling, 'Mitchy. Come with me and keep sleeping a little more, ‘kay?
He then proceeded to snuggle against him as if he were his personal blanket, forcing Takemichi to lie down next to the alpha. Meanwhile, Takemichi was panicking more and more. What the hell had he done? What the hell had he done!?
He had spent the night with Mikey, who was not only the current leader of Toman but also the head of one of the most prolific criminal networks of all Japan.
No matter how drunk he was, Takemichi was still a -somewhat- responsible adult. But still, how the hell could he have allowed an alpha to bite him so easily? Had they even used protection? Also, even if it was another Omega, he had a girlfriend who loved him and whom he loved very much. And whom he had sworn to protect. Now that he was marked by an alpha, what would happen to Hina? What's more, what would happen to himself? An Omega marked by an alpha couldn't live long without said alpha, and even if Takemichi managed to fix things with Mikey, no one would ever want an used Omega. Not to mention that the bond dissolution operations were too expensive for a mere middle school student to afford. And even so, what about Mikey? With his childish demeanor, the alpha most likely didn't even know what he was doing. It was his own recklessness as the responsible adult that put them in this awkward situation, where Takemichi had unknowingly marked not only his own life but also that of one of his closest friends.
Unable to control the panic that had taken hold of his mind, he frantically escaped of the arms that surrounded him. Mikey lazily got up, rubbing his eyes. As he could, he found his clothes scattered around the room and dressed to run away as quickly as possible from that room, that felt more suffocating with every passing second.
He began to move from side to side, desperate. He decided to wake Mikey up. Perhaps there was still time to end this unwanted bond, and if so, he would need his help.
"Mikey-kun, Mikey-kun! Wake up, damn it!" he yelled as he shook him violently.
"Takemitchy ~~ it's way too early for you to go this crazy", replied the alpha as he stretched and, of course, made no effort to wake up.
Takemichi was desperate. "Mikey, shit! Do you have any fucking idea about what we did last night? Something bad happened. Something very bad happened."
When he said that, the alpha deigned himself to finally wake up. As he yawned and scratched his mess of hair, he said," Of course I know what we did last night. "
"We made love, "he smirked.
Takemichi had to take a moment to process the image before his eyes. On one hand, he had to remind himself that Mikey was still a fifteen-year-old boy who had probably not yet experienced something like sex. On the other hand, he now had the challenge of having to explain to said inexperienced child how babies are made. But there was no time to explain the relationships between bees and flowers.
So,Takemichi took a moment to breathe in and calm down.
"Mikey-kun, last night you--- Ah, I let you mark me."
" Yeah, and?" asked the disinterested alpha.
"Do you have any idea what that means?"
Mikey thought it over for a moment."Isn't it a common thing that omegas and alphas do when they really love each other? We love each other, so that's why I did it."
"We love each other…? Arrh, damn it." What the hell was going through this boy's head?
Damn. Damn. Damn. Then it was official. Mikey really had bitten him. However, they still had time to break the bond. Then he would have enough time to fix any other misunderstandings.
"Okay. It's okay. There's still time to figure this out," he told to himself.
First, find a private clinic specializing in breaking ties, and then ...
Though, before Takemichi could even walk through the doorway, a strong tug surprised him. It was Mikey, who had also gotten up and was holding his arm firmly.
"Why are you leaving me, Takemitchy? I wanted us to stay together", the strength of his grip increased, his knuckles were white and the pressure was almost unbearable. "I thought we had a good time last night ... You had a good time, I know you did because you kept screaming my name when I thrusted inside you."
Takemichi's cheeks lit up like they were on fire.
"I don't understand, I bit you. And what about it?”
Takemichi snapped. “Do you have any idea what that means, Mikey-kun? You bit me and if we don't do something soon, we'll have to spend the rest of our lives together!"
Mikey looked at him intensely, frowning. He still hadn’t lessen the grip on his arm and his pheromones had started to spread throughout the room, making Takemichi feel ill. But even more than fear, he also felt the need to comfort his alpha.
Damn it, Takemichi thought. If we don't do something soon it will be too late to reverse this mess.
He was about to say something, when he heard Mikey whispered, "What's wrong with that?"
Takemichi was enraged. "What's wrong with it? I love Hina! We're in a relationship! "
After hearing those words, Mikey didn't reply. He just stared blankly at him. His dark orbs were like black holes, drilling into Takemichi's head. In contrast to his cold face, the alpha pheromones turned even more heated, increasing the omega's fear.
“I… You’re hurting me, Mikey-kun.” was all he could say. His legs were shaking, the pressure was too much. Tears were beginning to form in his eyes.
"I don't want this. You are my Omega now. We have a bond. Why should I let you go? "
Takemichi tried to free himself from the alpha's tight grip, but was unable."Mikey-kun, you’re hurting me, damn it. "
As if waking up from a trance, Mikey let him go, surprised. Takemichi took the opportunity to flee from there. Before leaving, he took one last look at Mikey, who seemed pained by his rejection: "Mikey-kun ..."
He left as fast as he could, ignoring the calls the rest of Toman made after him.
But it was in vain. No matter how much he ran, Takemichi should have known that he wasn’t capable of running away from the consequences of his actions.
═══════════════════
Two weeks had passed since The Incident. Since then, Takemichi had turned down any calls from Toman members and ignored their messages demanding explanations as well.
Mikey hadn't contacted him. He didn't know how to feel about it. (That’s a lie)
The bonding agency, however, had. But not exactly to give good news, but rather to tell him that there was nothing they could do in this kind of situation. Breaking a bond meant that the other party had to agree to it, and as long as they weren't, a procedure would be impossible. It was unfair, but that was the law for omegas.
Even if Mikey miraculously changed his mind, it was too late to do anything about it. The limit for a treatment was three days after bond formation.
At this point, Takemichi finally understood. Now that his body grew weaker and weaker with each day he was away from Mikey; now that the food seemed neither to satisfy him nor to want to stay in its place, Takemichi finally understood.
He had become Mikey's Omega.
He was now Manjiro Sano's omega.
On the first day of their third week apart, Takemichi gave up. He ended this imaginary fight that his mind had started with his alpha. That same morning, he decided to go back to the gang . Back along with what he considered his pack; even before his bond with Mikey. As he could, even with his weakened strength, he managed to reach the old temple used as a meeting place for the Toman.
There, predictably, he was greeted by a very angry pack, screaming loudly for explanations.
However, before anyone could begin to demand anything from him, a single silent figure made his way through the Toman members, who just let them pass. The moment was almost intimate.
It was Mikey, and at the same time, it wasn't. The Mikey he knew had changed. For a moment, Takemichi wondered if that was his fault.
He had cut his hair much shorter than usual, and under his dark black orbs resided two pronounced dark circles. He even seemed to have lost weight.
At the sight, something inside him moved frantically. The same something that told him that there was something wrong. An image of the past ... or the future? Something about that appearance made him uncomfortable, but nostalgic.
Takemichi had heard that separation syndrome changed Alphas, yet he didn't expect that much.
Mikey approached him with slow, deliberate steps. Like he had all the time in the world. As if he wasn't dying inside from the urge to run into the arms of his other half, as Takemichi knew he was doing.
The young Omega was impatient. Distressed. His inner Omega was restless, howling, begging him to lunge towards his alpha, to achieve once and for all surround himself in his scent as they should have done long ago.
But he didn't do any of that, instead he just waited for his alpha patiently. Still, inside him, a certain feeling of dread was rising. Takemichi had rejected their bond from the very beginning. And now, what if Mikey didn't want him back? What kind of alpha would accept an omega who rejected him so cruelly?
When he finally had Mikey in front of him, he no longer could control himself. Tears escaped out of his eyes, as if someone had started something inside him that couldn't be stopped. All the pain and loneliness of the past few weeks, all the suffering he had been through, even the frustration of having initiated an unwanted bond, spilled out in front of him uncontrollably. In front of Mikey. Facing his alpha .
The older blonde just hugged him, in a sweet way of comfort, patting his head every so often. Letting him know he was there. That it always would be. Always .
For the first time since all this time-travel disaster began, Takemichi found himself completely at peace. He didn’t think of anything or anyone; in this world there was only him and Mikey, forever. There was no place for Hinatas who should be saved, or Akkuns who were suffering. Just Mikey .
He was so engrossed that he wasn't even embarrassed by the curious glances the rest of Toman gave them, all giggles and suggestive eyebrows. He also didn't bother to notice the brown-haired Omega who was staring at the scene with a look of sadness and disappointment.
By the time Takemichi recovered from his state, it was time to face a -very angry- pack.
The first one to approach was, of course, Chifuyu. The young beta wanted to give the Omega a “loving” reprimand for having been missing for almost a month, but the attentive gaze of his alpha stopped him. Chifuyu knew that he had to give up. He’d always been quick to notice those things, you see. Instead, he simply said,
"You fucking idiot, you make me get worried! What the hell were you thinking? You could have just answered one of my messages!"
Takemichi wanted to answer, but someone else did it for him.
"Marital problems. My idiot brother was also wailing for three long, long weeks." It was Emma, who was approaching from a safe distance, where she was hiding from the rest of the pack. The young Omega smiled at her brother and he reciprocated, albeit in a more restrained way.
"I'm serious, Takemitchy. Don't you just disappear so suddenly, I don’t want to deal with the mess you left behind," Draken announced, referring obviously to Mikey.
The captain simply limited himself to show a slight pout and whisper something similar to "Kenchin, you meanie~". Takemichi wondered, somewhat embarrassed now that he had recovered, how they had found out about his relationship with Mikey. Although the omega supposed you didn’t have to be a genius to realize how close they were, and the older's clear possessiveness. Oh, there was also the little fact that Takemichi carried a huge half-healed bite on his neck.
After Emma, Draken and Chifuyu, the rest of Toman showed up to remind him (not very kindly, Takemichi must say) that the next time he disappeared without showing any signs of life for more than two weeks, he’d get his ass kicked. Although after hearing the small growl that Mikey made as a threat, they most likely won't do anything.
Despite everything, it was a relatively emotional reunion. The entire time, Mikey seemed cheerful and Takemichi could feel his alpha's soft purr, at ease.
However, his happiness couldn't last forever.
When the rest of Toman left the place, Mikey signaled him to stay a while longer and chat on the temple steps. Feelings of insecurity came back to Takemichi.
"I'm glad you decided to finally come back."
"Mikey-kun, I ..."
"It’s okay," he interrupted. "I was in the wrong too. I didn't consider your perspective about things, and I didn't suppose it would be such a shock to you. I thought ... I thought you would be as happy as I was to be with you.”
Takemichi watched him, tears in his eyes. And a pang of guilt in his heart. It’s true that he was shocked… But he guesses that nothing justifies the way he acted toward Mikey.
"So don't apologize… Even though your reaction hurt me, I was wrong too. I hope you can forgive me, and maybe… we can start over."
Mikey extended his hand to him, in a clear proposal of reconciliation. Takemichi supposed he should have doubted it a bit more, but he decided to put any doubts behind him. Those problems should be solved with Naoto once he returns to the future. For now, he simply had to focus on the Mikey in front of him.
Takemichi smiled. "Yes. Let's do it."
"You love me now, right?" Mikey wrapped his arms around him, breathing deep in his scent. “Are you happy with me now, right? You'll never leave me again…Right? ”
Takemichi couldn't breathe much into his strong grip, so he just nodded. .
"It's okay. I knew it would be like this. I knew it."
After that, they just just enjoyed each other. They let their essences recognize each other, blend into one… It was the first time that Takemichi scented someone else who wasn't his mom or grandma, and he was embarrassed.
However, as soon as Mikey let his guard down, Takemichi tried to make a surprise attack and hit Mikey on the head. He was still mad about The Incident. But of course the alpha easily avoided his attack.
"But the next time you decide NOT to use a condom, I'll kill you, okay? We were lucky that I took birth pills. I definitely don't want to be a mother yet!"
Mikey just giggled.
