It was another long day of filming on the Dark Moon set. Kyoko was done with her scenes but had to stick around in case they decided they needed a retake. She was dozing off on one of the couches when Ren walked up to her, having just finished all of his scenes as well.
“Is this seat taken?” Ren startled her awake when he approached her. He still had his killer smile on, so she could do little but glance away and nod. As he sat down, he looked at her and noticed how tired she was. “You can take a nap if you need, they probably won’t be done with filming for a couple more hours.”
“No, I couldn’t possibly do that on set! Besides, you’re here now.” And Kyoko was determined to always be her best around Ren. So that meant, unfortunately, no napping while working.
“It’s quite alright, I’ve even done it on occasion on long work days. That’s what these couches are basically for.” Ren tried to assure her, but she still refused. If she fell asleep and drooled, how could she look Ren in the eye again??
“Are you all done with your scenes too, Ren-san?”
“Yes, I just finished my last one for the day. It’s too bad we have to sit around for so long just in case of a retake, right?” Ren sighed, tired from the long day on set. Hopefully they could go home soon. He was afraid Mogami-san would collapse otherwise. Maybe he shouldn’t have come over and disturbed her potential nap…
“It’s not like I have acting class or anything else to do today, so it’s fine for me. I feel bad for you though Ren-san, you’re always so busy you barely have time to eat!” Besides, Kyoko was always more than happy to get the opportunity to act and show off her portrayal of Mio.
“I’ve had so many late nights on set that I’m used to it by now. Have you eaten yet? It’s important to eat when you’re young.” Ren smiles at her, not realizing the contradiction of his words.
“But Ren-san, you’re only 4 years older than me.”
“Yes, and..?”
Kyoko giggles before she replies. “So you’re young too! Yet your eating habits are so bad!” Kyoko bursts out laughing at the embarrassed expression on Ren's face. She’s seen his meals, even when he does eat it’s not much. How he can survive with so little, she’ll never know.
Her laughing turns into a yawn, and she’s reminded of how tired she really is. It’d be nice if filming could wrap up already.
“You know, you really should just get some rest if you’re tired. Don’t mind me, I’ll protect you in case some evil man comes by and tries to devour you,” Ren says while looking in Kijimas direction, knowing his playboy attitude. “And don’t worry about getting home. Yashiro and I will drop you off tonight. Walking alone in the dark is dangerous.”
She failed and yawned again, while Ren just smiled softly at her. “At least get some sleep then. We can’t have you falling asleep while biking home. You’d be out of work if you got into an accident.”
All Kyoko could do was nod in response as she closed her heavy eyes and leaned back. She was asleep within 5 seconds.
Ren just smiled at how cute she looked when she was napping. He pulled out his phone to check his email and go over his schedule for tomorrow. He had only made it through a few emails when he felt a weight on his shoulder. He glanced over and saw Kyoko had fallen over and now had her head resting on him. Not wanting to disturb her, he put his phone away and relaxed, trying to get some rest himself.

When Ren next awoke, Yashiro was in front of him, gently shaking him while trying not to disturb Kyoko.
“We’re all set here. Filming is done for the day and we can all go home. Luckily there were no retakes for either of your scenes.”
Ren can see the smile in Yashiro's eyes, and knows why when he realizes the position he’s in. Kyoko had snuggled into his side and he had wrapped an arm around her and rested his head on top of hers in his sleep. He slowly sits up and tries not to disturb Kyoko too much.
“I already fit her bike in the car, I assume we’ll be driving her home?” Yashiro questions, even while knowing the answer.
“Of course. Now try not to wake her.” Ren gently gets up from the couch, supporting Kyoko's head with his arm, before picking her up in a bridal carry so they can walk to the car.
“Ooooh, looks like things are finally starting to heat up between you two~” Yashiro teases while Ren silently stares him down.
They make it to the car without waking up Kyoko, and Ren softly lays her down in the backseat. He gets in the driver's seat and Yashiro into the passenger seat before they pull out of their parking spot and head to Darumaya to drop off Kyoko.
When they get there, both of them get out; Yashiro to put away the bike and Ren to get Kyoko to bed. Ren carries her past the owners, nodding at them and apologizing about the late night on set, before carrying her up the stairs and to her room. He lays her in bed, taking off her shoes and tucking her in before staring at her one more time. She really looked so peaceful while asleep. Ren glanced at the door before leaning in and kissing her forehead, whispering goodnight before making his way back downstairs.
Omake:
Yashiro smirks at him when he gets back in the car. “You sure were in there for a while. Did she wake up? Blush and fawn over your thoughtfulness? Finally get a kiss from her?” Ren kicked him out and drove off, blushing slightly at how close he was to the truth...
