Chapter Text
The first thing he noticed was the taste of last night’s alcohol and the headache that usually accompanied him when he had an excessive amount. It wasn’t his fault that an excessive amount was the perfect amount to drown out everything.
Bob opened his eyes slowly. The only light in his small bedroom was being emitted from the small digital alarm clock that sat on the nightstand next to his bed.
Though it wasn’t the clock that had woke him up. Though he’s sure the alarm clock would be more forgiving than what had.
The vines growing from the potted plants around the room that were gently touching him.
He groaned as he sat up the plant life beginning to stop their wake up call.
One of the vines picked up something that had been sitting down next to the alarm clock and held it in front of the man.
“Thank you.” The man said as he took the object from the vine, the object was a pair of glasses.
The man slipped them on, before getting out of bed. The vines quickly began to make the bed.
“H-Hey I could have done that.” The protest was ignored by the plants.
Even they knew he wasn’t going to.
He looked over at the clock, large red glowing numbers reading 5:47 started back at him.
Well… he might as well just get ready for the day. There was no way he could get back to bed, it was made now anyway.
He made his way to his closet and began to look through his clothes, nothing really caught his eye. He eventually just decided on a simple green button up and a pair of brown slacks, he wore the only pair of shoes he owned.
Why would anyone need more than one pair anyway?
He quickly finished getting ready for the day.
But now it was time for the hard part. Deciding which plant he was going to bring to the shop with him today.
“Hmm I wonder which one of you I should bring to work with me?”
All the plants seemed to perk up at this.
‘You should bring me!’ A small cactus said very excitedly.
‘Noooo you should bring me~’ An aloe vera plant said waving at Bob.
“Well… I brought you to the shop last week Benjamin.” Bob said to the cactus. “It would be only fair to bring Caderrick to the shop today, it’s been about a month since he’s been there.”
‘Fine…. but only because you think it’s fair.’ Benjamin the cactus said obviously upset, though Bob knew the plant would be over it quickly.
Bob picked up the aloe vera plant, who just seemed happy that they were going to the shop.
The man left the room with his plant and walked into the living room and kitchen area.
Unlike his room the living and kitchen didn’t have anywhere close to the number of plants. Though this was because it was a shared living space. Luckily for Bob his roommate was asleep so he wouldn’t have to deal with any social interaction yet.
The man made his way over to the balcony of the apartment and grabbed his bike. Luckily today it wasn’t covered in any vines. He sat Caderrick the aloe vera into the basket of the bike and then made his way back through the living room, making sure to have the bike lifted over the floor. He wouldn’t want to make a mess for his roommate to clean up.
Luckily for him his apartment led outside and he was on the first floor, so the second he was outside he mounted his bike and drove off.
Though he was still tired.. He could probably get a cheap coffee from the gas station before heading to the shop.
And there it was settled he would go to the gas station first.
