Cha Young landed on the private island on a sunny Thursday morning. She greeted Vincenzo with a passionate kiss that made the Korean-born Italian flounder for a moment, before he returned it.
Han Seo, now Michel, was pulled into a hug which he was very quick to return, even as his hands hovered nervously over the woman’s back for a moment, before they actually connected.
Ah yes.... the last time Michel would have seen Cha Young, she’d been shot in the back, mere moments before he was shot himself.
Luca stepped forwards, happy to see that she was okay, and looking for something to tease Vincenzo about.
He stopped though when she glared at the sight of him.
“So....” Her smile was about as welcoming as a cobra about to strike, “... I heard you’re dating Han Seo now.”
Shit.
..........................................
She barely said another word to him that wasn’t necessary, much to Vincenzo’s amusement.
“She’s just a bit... protective.” Michel tried to reassure him on the fifth night of her stay, when it did start to get to him, “I think… we’re like a little family I think.” He flushed, “W-well I always thought we were family, and-and it’s actually nice to see that she thinks that as well.”
“Yeah, she’s definitely acting like a big sister right now.” Luca sighed, “And big sisters are way scarier than big brothers.”
From the look on Michel’s face, he didn’t believe him… but then again, Luca had to remember that he had a psycho for a biological older brother.
“Most of the time.” He amended his statement, “Most of the time, they’re worse.”
“Ah.” Michel leaned in a little closer, pressing a kiss to his cheek, “Don’t worry, I’m sure she’ll see that you’re perfect.”
Luca glanced over at his love, smiling gently at the light flush on Michel’s cheeks, prompting him to press his own kiss to them.
“Thank you.”
………………………………………..
Michel’s words had eased his concerns for a few hours, but when Luca was still awake five hours later, he knew he wasn’t getting any sleep any time soon. Gently, he pried himself free from Michel’s hold, pressing a kiss to the younger man’s forehead to soothe him, before leaving the room.
He needed a drink.
However, when he entered the private living room, it was to see Cha Young sitting by a slowly dying fire, eyes absently focusing on the flames.
“Miss Hong?”
There was a visible jolt as she was pulled from her thoughts, before after a quick glance at him, she turned her attention back to the flames.
“I thought you’d be in bed, won’t Han Seo miss you?” Her Italian had definitely improved in the months that her and Vincenzo had been apart….. The words were teasing, but the tone was not.
“I couldn’t sleep.” He admitted, opening his mouth to say more, before holding it back.
Telling her that he thought she was being a little harsh with him, wouldn’t help matters.
He couldn’t tell her how much her glares stung slightly.
“Oh, any reason why?”
“… No, it’s just one of those things.”
There was another moment of silence, before Luca plucked up the courage to break it.
“May I ask… why you’re so angry with me?”
Cha Young froze, eyes flickering over to Luca for a moment, before she groaned and shook her head. “I’m not angry at you, I just… don’t want to see Han Seo… Michel get hurt again.”
“I wouldn’t do that.”
“I want him to be happy.”
“That’s what I want as well.”
Cha Young looked up at him, holding his gaze for a few moments, before nodding. “I believe you.” Her voice was barely above a whisper, as she got to her feet, “I think… we better get back to bed.”
“Hmm, we don’t want Boss worrying about you.”
She gave him a sideways glance at the teasing tone, before smirking, “We don’t want Han Seo worrying either.”
“Never.”
“Truce?”
“Truce.”
…………………………………………………
It was three days later, when Luca felt sure that everything was okay between him and Miss Hong, as they all sat in the private sitting room together, eating some of the cooks’ baking as they discussed Vincenzo’s on-going case back in Korea.
“I have to be impressed at how brave you are.” Cha Young smirked at Luca, when Vincenzo nipped out to take a phone call, “Dating a known killer’s brother.”
“He gave me sufficient warning to not hurt Michel’s feelings.” Luca chuckled, “If the knife in my dick was anything to go by.”
The other two froze, both turning to stare at Luca.
“Vincenzo…threw a knife at your- “
“- It was a picture.” Luca rushed to explain, “I’m not going to ask why he had had a picture of me, but he did, and he threw a knife at it.”
Vincenzo re-entered the room at that point, only to flinch back when Cha Young got up in his face, moving at a speed Luca honestly did humans capable of.
“You threw a knife at Luca?!”
It was obvious that Vincenzo was not impressed with Luca snitching like that, sending him a quick glare. “It was at his picture.” He affirmed.
“Are you insane!”
“It was at a picture!”
That was right by his head, Luca thought, but he decided it probably wasn’t best to mention that.
“You are so over-protective!”
“I am just the right amount of protective!”
The pair didn’t look like they were going to stop anytime soon, as Luca wished he’d never brought this up at all.
“Do you want to go out for a bit, maybe along the beach?” He asked Michel, unable to stop the fond smile from appearing on his face as his lover nodded eagerly.
Good.
Because once that argument changed into passion, Luca was sure that the other couple wouldn’t check to see if they were alone before ‘forgiving’ one another.
