Chapter Text

“Poison Mushroom! Wait up!” licorice yelled while chasing the younger cookie.

Licorice mentally curses at himself,

‘God dammit! You look away for just one second, and they're already running away.’

He stopped to catch his breath. Licorice was good at many things, don't ask him what those things are because you're not going to get an answer, but something licorice was definitely not the best at… was chasing kids. He loved Poison Mushroom dearly, but he just wasn't meant for babysitting. Which sucks for him because he's the only one Poison Mushroom fully trusts.

After five minutes of lying down and staring at the sky, licorice remembered Poison Mushroom. In a panic he shot up and started running again. Luckily he didn't have to go too far because he saw the purple cookie looking at something from behind the bush they were at. As licorice was walking closer, he heard music playing.

‘Was this the reason they ran off?’

He was going to comment on how the hell they heard music from so far away, but he already knew the answer. Licorice has always been caught up in his own thoughts, he most likely drowned out any background noise by default. Well, now that he thinks about it, it is probably how Poison Mushroom was able to run off without him noticing. Licorice pulled the smaller cookie away from the bush gently, so they were now facing him.

“Hey, what did I tell you about running off like that?” licorice whispered

“I'm sorry… but the music's… really pretty!”

The young cookie turned back around to listen to the music once again. Licorice couldn't help his curiosity, so he gave in and decided to see what was so special. He stood next to the smaller cookie and peeked through the bush.

‘Holy shit’
