Chapter Text
Beomgyu was just not feeling well. The moment he woke up, his head started aching just as if someone threw a brick at his head. The urge to just stay at the dorm and miss practice was so enticing, but then he didn't want his team to be disappointed. Only if he had listened to himself and stayed in the dorm.
“Beomgyu! What are you doing? You could've crashed into Yeonjun!” The instructor scolded.
‘Ah...practice is already ruined, all because of me’
“sorry..wasn't paying attention,” His headache was splitting through his head and he did not have energy to continue the conversation, much less listen to what the instructor said and ruin his day even more.
Beomgyu could feel glares at his back, probably because he could not do well and meet their expectations. After all, the stage was only a few days away.
“Let's just continue, don't make these kinds of mistakes. Who knows, one day you might actually hurt someone,” The instructor rolled her eyes, whispering the last few words not so quietly, before telling Soobin, closest to the speaker, to turn the music on.
He really thought he could just ignore her words and his teammates glares. His nose was burning from the inside, eyes glistening with a sad glow. Beomgyu pushed his tongue against the roof of his mouth, to prevent himself from crying. Crying in front of the team was embarrassing.
They continued practicing, all with annoyed and stressed looks.
Each move was a struggle for Beomgyu, The weight of his shoulders pulling him down. His head rolled around whenever he took a step and his hands felt detached from his body. Everything was heavy, from his head to his feet, his eyelids that wanted to close shut. The music was like a drum next to his ear, and he could feel every beat of the song punching his brain.
Finally, the song stopped. The war happening in his own body ended, making him all tired mentally and physically.
“haa..i guess that's it for now, i hope you all brush up on your dancing, it's way too sloppy to even work with,” the instructor said, packing up her stuff before whispering to Beomgyu, “especially you, stop pulling your team down,”
Beomgyu knew that it was his fault that practice was hell, but the instructor could not just blame it on him.
‘what about Kai? didn't he make mistakes too? And Taehyun, correcting what's already right! Yeonjun and Soobin was just there doing nothing, they did not even try’ Beomgyu thought, feeling the burning sensation in his nose and eyes.
“They too were wrong..” Beomgyu murmured, not realising he spoke at a volume that his members could hear.
“Us?! Look at you, you were not even listening to the music!” Yeonjun shouted, glaring at Beomgyu.
“Even if we made mistakes, we were at least dancing and not just lazing around,” Taehyun added, making things even worse.
“You all settle this alone, make sure to get it together before our next session with each other,” The instructor said before leaving.
“Let's just go back to the dorms yeah?” Soobin suggested, hoping to calm them down.
His plan worked, but not the calming down part.
“I'll stay here for a moment,” Beomgyu said, straining his voice so that it doesn't come out as stutters. The rest ignored him, going out of the room, leaving him in the cold emptiness, filled with traces of anger.
tik...tik…
The sound of his tears hitting the wooden floor broke it's silent spell, as his sobs and sniffles joined in.
“Stupid fucking headache..” He complained to himself, falling to his knees, slouching as all remaining energy seeped out. His head fell to the floor with a ‘thump’. All curled up in a ball, inside the room. ‘how pathetic’ he thought.
He fell to his side, feeling his eyes shut, chasing out all forms of light. His only form of rest, sleep, came to him immediately, forcing his body to relax.
Maybe tomorrow will be better.
