Work Text:
You were on a case with Sam and Dean, just like any other. You were a vampire, the sparkly kind. Dean always made fun of you for that, but he meant it in the big brother sort of way. You had been separated from your family years before and were picked up by the Winchesters. You had found a new family within them. Dean was like a new older brother, and Sam was the best boyfriend you had ever had.
You were sitting in the back of the impala as they interviewed some kids outside of a high school in Forks, Washington. You were too anxious to step out in the sun even when it was cloudy out of fear of being discovered. There had been a few mysterious deaths in this area, so you and the boys were suspicious of possible vampire involvement. The deaths were being marked as animal attacks, but you knew better. You were brooding in your thoughts in the back seat when someone appeared next to you. You originally thought it was Castiel, as that was usually who appeared next to you, but you soon realize vampire. You whipped your head to the side to see your brother Edward, who you hadn’t seen since you were accidentally separated from the rest of the Cullens. “Oh my god, Ed.”
“Hey y/n,” he said happily as he pulled you into a hug. You hugged him back tightly. “I thought you were dead.”
You sighed. “Not dead, just lost. I couldn’t find you guys and I eventually just hoped that one day we would cross paths.”
Edward pulled away from the hug. “It’s the end of the school day. You should come home. Carlisle and Esme and the others will be so happy to see you.”
“But what about Sam and Dean?”
Edward rolled his eyes. “The feds will be fine without you for a couple of hours. This is your family we’re talking about.”
~
Edward quickly moved you from the impala to Bella’s truck. He drove Bella and you up to the Cullen house. You thought Bella seemed a little boring, but nice enough. When you arrived at the house, you suddenly became a little more nervous. Edward rushed to the door and threw it open. The whole family was near the entrance because they had all recently gotten home as well. “You will never believe who came to town with the FBI.”
You were still near the car with your back to the door. “What’s wrong?” Bella asked.
You shrugged your shoulders. “Just a bit nervous, is all.”
She gently patted your shoulder, “I’m sure it will be okay. I know they have all missed you.”
“y/n!” Carlisle called.
You smiled happily at him. Even though he was not your biological father, he felt like your dad, and you had always treated him as such. “Dad!” You ran over to him, and he pulled you into a tight hug. “I’m so sorry. I spent so much time looking for you all, but the country’s so big I never knew where to look and-”
“Shhh,” Carlisle held your head gently. “It’s alright. We are just happy to see you again. We were all so worried about you. After all these years, we weren’t sure if you were even still out there.”
“I stopped being able to see you in my visions,” Alice explained. “I was tracking you for a while, hoping I’d be able to figure out your location, but one day I couldn’t see you anymore.”
You moved from Carlisle to her and hugged her just as tight. “An angel used an incantation to protect me from being found by the other angels. It must have blocked you from seeing me as well. I’m so sorry, Alice.”
“Don’t fret about it, y/n. Let’s just get inside and catch up.”
~
You have been with your family for a few hours now. Everything seemed perfect. You felt like, even though she was human that Bella was a great addition to your family. You had turned off your phone while in the car with her and Edward. You decided it was probably a good idea to check in with the boys.
17 missed calls. 32 unread messages. 1 voice mail.
Most of the calls were from Sam, but even Dean had called and texted you. You must have had them really worried. A pool of guilt started forming in your stomach.
Sam: Hey, where did you go?
Sam: y/n, are you okay.
Sam: please answer if you are okay
Dean: where did you go, kid?
Dean: Sam and I are worried about you
You thumbed over the voicemail button. “Whatcha looking at there?”
Emmett grabbed your phone from your hand. “Emmett, give it back!”
“Let’s see what you got first!” He pressed play before you could protest.
Hey y/n, it’s Sam. I’m worried about you. You just disappeared. Did you find some kind of lead? Did something happen? Call me back when you get this. I want to know you’re okay.
“It sounds like those feds really care about you,” Edward said.
Emmett handed your phone back to you. “Sorry, y/n.”
“They aren’t feds. They’re hunters,” you said quietly.
“What? Why are you associating yourself with hunters? They could kill you!” Carlisle scolded.
“They won’t. They only kill monsters that hurt humans, like the vampires that have been traveling through this town.” You stood up and started to gather your stuff. “I’m sorry I have to get back. I feel horrible for making them worry.”
“Don’t leave yet. Have them come here,” Alice suggested, “It’ll be okay. I’ve seen it.”
You set your jacket back down and nodded. You called Sam and held the phone to your ear. “Hey, Sammy.”
“Y/n? Oh my god. Are you okay?”
You could hear the worry in his voice. “Yes, I’m fine. Um… while you were interviewing those kids, one of my brothers found me.”
“Your brothers? Like your family from before?”
“Yes. If you want to meet them, I can give you the address. Though you’ll have to leave your weapons in the car.”
“Alright, we’re coming to get you.”
~
Sam and Dean arrived not long after the phone call ended. The situation was tense from the minute they pulled into the driveway. Edward pulled open the front door, and Sam could see you standing just behind them. You met Sam halfway and hugged him tightly in the middle of the driveway. “Hey.”
“I’m so glad you’re safe.”
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay. Next time, just tell me.”
“I will. Do you want to meet my parents?”
“If they promise not to kill me.”
“I can make that promise. The whole family is just like me.”
