Work Text:
Green eyes stared at pale unblemished skin, thin delicate fingers scratched lightly upon the smooth flesh. Ever so slightly Izuku would use his sharp nails to claw, leaving a red mark and an almost numbing pain. Had he gotten so used to burning pain Katsuki would leave behind with his quirk that even self-induced injuries couldn’t even phase him? Maybe he could try something a little more harming…
Cutting himself would surely feel different from the explosions Katsuki would use, it would be another type of pain that would hurt all the more. Carefully, the green haired boy stood from the tub full of water, his drenched clothes clinging to his small body. Small sock clad feet stepped up the restroom mirror and reached for an unused shaver, he broke it and removed the blade. Just a little bit wouldn’t hurt, right? His mom wasn’t home and wouldn’t be back until tomorrow morning since she took the late shift, and there wasn’t school tomorrow.
Izuku walked back to the tub and sank back into the water, leaning his head against the cold marbled wall. “I wish I could cry..” He whispered quietly, dull green eyes staring blankly at the ceiling. Pale freckled hands gripped the blade tightly, feeling a flicker of pain as a few drops of blood fell in the water. A broken laugh left parted chapped lips, sighing as he squeezed a little harder. “I kind of like this feeling. Maybe I can do it more often, no one has to know. Not like anyone would care..”
He flinched slightly as his phone rang loudly, echoing in the silent house. He left to ring as there was no point in even getting up again, not when he finally felt at ease with the blade squeezed tightly within his hands. Ever so slowly, Izuku unclenched his hand and gripped the blade between his fingers, bringing towards the pale flesh of his inner wrist. Pressing down only hard enough to feel a slight sting before pushing deeper and relishing in the blood droplets that appeared, watching numbly as they slid down his arms and dripped into the water. A small smile tugged at his chapped lips, green eyes brightening up at the uncomfortable pain. “Just as I thought, it was a different type of hurt then from what Katsuki does.”
With the relaxed feeling it brought him, Izuku continued to do more, ranging from deep to shallow, small to long. He continued until the bath water was a murky color and bloody wounds littered his skin, he switched to his right arm when the left was much too covered. He let the pleasant sting lure him to sleep and leaned his head against the wall again, maybe with his blood slowly draining out of him he’d never wake up again. It’s not like anyone would ever actually care, his mom was always too busy leaving her life to notice and he had no friends that would ever miss him if he were to die. Maybe just this once he could think of himself and just let go.
He blinked sluggishly at the sound of pounding at his front door, with a pained groan Izuku pushed himself up and reached for the hook to help himself up. A wave of dizziness hit him and he stumbled out of the tub, nearly falling on the cold floor. “Coming.” He shouted or at least he thinks he shouted, he couldn’t really be sure since as soon as he took a step out the door he collapsed on the ground. “I should…just go to…go to sleep.” Izuku whispered with a cloudy eyesight, his arms laying away from his body and blood falling on the floor.
“DEKU!” A faintly familiar voice shouted, sounding far away. “I KNOW YOU’RE IN THERE, YOU FUCKING SHITTY NERD! OPEN THE DAMN DOOR!”
‘Kacchan, what’s he doing here? I don’t want him here.’ Izuku attempted to get up so he could tell Bakugou Katsuki to go away, but he wasn't wanted by the Midoriya resident. Well, that wasn’t true. Midoriya Inko would always welcome the angry blonde into her home, because she didn’t know how much of a monster he was to her son and it wasn’t like Izuku never told her. (That was a lie, he tried telling her but she brushed his words aside and made him think he was making up stories because Kacchan was his friend and he’d never hurt Izuku purposely. But he had so why didn’t his mom believe him?)
“I’M KICKING YOUR DAMN DOOR DOWN SINCE YOU THINK YOU CAN IGNORE ME!” Izuku ignored him and closed his eyes, Katsuki wasn’t important anyways. Not when Izuku was finally going to go to sleep, hopefully forever. “What the fuck?! Deku!” Izuku closed his eyes and allowed himself to be embraced by the comforting arms of darkness. “Shit, shit, shit.” He could hear before everything went silent and he was finally free.
