Chapter Text

"Raps, I h-have something I need to tell you. Can we talk in private?"
"Oh, okay.”
Rapunzel didn't know what to expect, but she saw urgency in Faith's eyes. She was willing to listen to her. Raps missed Cass so much, so she was glad she was able to get closer to someone new.
As they were walking, Zhan Tiri used the opportunity to reveal Cass in front of everyone by taking her cloak away. There was panic. Everyone was in shock. Cassandra's plan to be inconspicuous was ruined and everyone was scared of her. She was freaking out too. Rapunzel seemed so afraid of her for a moment, that Cass thought that she wouldn't want her back anymore. That she wouldn't accept the apology she wanted to give.
The guards were on alert too: "We have to protect the princess!" They ran towards Cass with the intention to stop her.
Rapunzel saw terror in Cassandra's eyes. She wanted to reach her, talk to her, but guards were coming from all sides.
"Rapunzel, listen, I-I can explain," Cassandra said, quickly, before realizing she'd be attacked in no time. So, she got ready.
Suddenly, a weird noise was heard and rumbling was starting out of nowhere. Everybody looked at the sky. This wasn't Cass nor her powers, this came from above. Suddenly, all the Coronians witnessed something impossible. But it was real enough. A huge metal object floating above the kingdom. This was like nothing anyone had tried to imagine.
It was there, and it clearly had some intentions. The gleam of blue light shined on Cassandra and it formed a perfect circle on the ground.
Cass became even more scared.
What is going on? What is happening? Why is light shining on me?
But before any further thinking, she was taken off the ground. The light was pulling her up. She panicked.
Rapunzel was watching as her friend was flying away from her reach, she didn't know what to do or what to think. She froze for a second.
Cass on the other hand took action. She didn't want to be taken away with some strange vessel that had showed up out of nowhere. She created a long sharp rock from the ground and caught it with her hand. The pulling hadn't stopped yet. Her whole body was under pressure from the pulling. She was holding the rock, hard.
Rapunzel finally got to her senses. Ready to take action as well. She wanted to help Cass, she saw her struggling, she wanted to catch her and to pull her back on the ground. She had never seen Cass so scared before.
Even though the situation before seemed pretty scary, this all was a whole new level. What if that ship attacked, would they be able to stop it? It looked so advanced, so strong. All they had were swords and Varian's new weapon he created. And that wouldn't help, since the ship was so high up.
Cass was looking at Rapunzel desperately.
"R-Raps... h-help."
The pulling seemed stronger every second.
"Cass!" Rapunzel climbed on the highest stack of hay near her and let down her hair. She stretched and threw her hair as high as possible. Unfortunately, Cassandra's hand slipped a few moments before she could reach her friend. She wasn’t able to get to her anymore. She was too high.
Cass was panicking, she couldn't stop it or do anything with it. Terrified of what awaited her there. She just went up. Flying closer and closer until she reached the ship and disappeared from the sight.
All the Coronians were in awe and fear. Breathless of what might come next. Rapunzel felt so sad, so scared for Cass. She couldn't help her friend. How was she supposed to save her now? When she was out of reach? The guards were on alert, but they couldn't do much either. Protecting the kingdom from this weird and dangerous threat was something unthinkable. But after a few seconds of tension and fear, the thing flew away.
Rapunzel started to run into the direction where the ship flew and screamed desperately, “CASS NO!”
Her best friend was gone. The ship had just disappeared into the sky. How were they supposed to get Cass back? She has no idea where the ship went. Or how would they find her or reach her, if ever?
Raps fell on her knees, shaking.
Eugene rushed to her to comfort his sunshine, she was in shock. Rapunzel had always got emotional over Cass for the past few months, mostly when she lost her for the first time, but now it seemed almost impossible to get her back.
"Hey Sunshine, I'm here, I'm here," Eugene murmured, hugging Rapunzel. She needed some support, she was just so heartbroken.
"S-she's She's gone!” Raps cried, “They t-took her. I couldn't save her. Maybe if I-"
Eugene was so upset seeing her like this, but was also terrified of that thing. What if they came back and took Rapunzel, too? What would they do, then? He was also worried for Cass, he didn't want them to be enemies, he never had. But that could’ve been the last time he ever saw her.
"Blondie, you couldn't do anything. They were too strong and fast..."
Rapunzel, shaking, started to cry.
“I’m scared for her, Eugene... W-What will t-they do to her....or where are they taking her..? W-What if I never see her again?”
Eugene pulled Raps close to him and started stroking her back. He couldn't tell her everything would be alright, he didn't even know if they would be safe.
