Work Text:
Here, nine months after their wedding their baby girl was born. Nine months after her wedding her daughter was born.
She still remembers the feeling of her husband carrying her back to their honeymoon suite and carrying her through the door all the way to the bed. Twirling her around before gently laying her on the bed. His nimble fingers caressing her cheek and guiding her into a deep, passionate kiss. Him shedding his formal robe and dress pants. Helping her out of her wedding gown. Undergarments stripped and forgotten on the floor. Gently laying her down onto their bed, kissing her, worshipping her. His scratchy beard against her face and neck. Taking her apart with such care. Leaving his mark, nothing of ownership or possession but love. Entering her with such care and kindness, it makes her forget the others, both those she welcomed and those she didn't. She worships her like she's a rare gem from and unknown world. The love they have for another is loud in the Force and room around them. When they finish he stains her womb with his seed, and she imagines the children they could make together, the child they made together.
Despite their honeymoon phase being short, their love-making is everything but harsh. Every time they bed together he worships her like she's a precious treasure. Something no matter how many times they've coupled, has never changed. His kind nature has never faltered. His love forever grows , his love for her, his lover for his padawan, his love for Anakin, his lover for their child.
She remembers the pink plus sign on the test, her worry and guilt. Her reaction, his reaction, his joy. She remembers the shakiness of her voice as she tells, handing over the positive test. In moment of frost before rays of happiness break through his smile. Him picking her up and spinning her around. Quickly putting her down and fussing over her, worried his actions are unsafe for the unborn child. She laughs at him and kisses him to shut up his babbling.
She remembers her pregnancy, far different that when she carried Anakin. He's a worrywart. Constantly fussing over her and their child. Worried about her at every second. Cherishing her body. Admiring the bump protecting their child.
Many times before she's been giving examples and reasons he would be a good father. But over the time her pregnancy takes she's only proven right. She watches as Qui-Gon teaches Anakin in the Force and cares for Obi-Wan even though the man is no longer his padawan. She watches as Qui-Gon explains to Anakin about his new sibling and what it means for their family. Patiently answering his questions and giving careful and thorough answers. Caring for her son as if he was his own flesh and blood.
His love never fades. Not when Anakin has his outbursts. Not when her mood swings are in full force. Not when Obi-Wan clings to him after a nightmare. Not Padmé calls him fifteen times a day. Not when he struggles. Not when life beats them down. Even when she's grumpy from not being able to see her own feet. Not when his grandson cries all night when Obi-Wan and Satine are too exhausted to wake, instead his calms the boy's cries and rocks him back and forth. Not when the young Togruta girl that attached herself to Anakin the moment her met him sneaks away from her mother and comes into their room in the middle of the night to play.
He's kind, calm, loving, supportive. When she fights to bring their child into this world. He sits at her side, holding her up even as she curses him to Hel and crushes his hand, breaking a few fingers. He's nothing but her husband. When their daughter is place at her chest and he cuts the cord, he never takes his eyes off her. Loving the baby to no containable amount.
He brings Anakin in to meet is baby sister. Obi-Wan brings his son Korkie. The babies stare at another as the parents rejoice. Finally, once everyone else has gone the small family curls together in bed. She remembers that day as the day Little Alice Grace Skywalker-Jinn was born.
The next morning the send out the announcement with a photo Satine took of them all together sleeping in the bed, with reads
"Alice Grace Skywalker-Jinn was born at a heathly 13 inches and 7 pounds even, to a very happy mom, dad, and brother. May the Force be with her."
