Chapter Text
Sunny has, for the longest time, liked Aubrey.
As a child, he was inspired by her bright aura of bravery. It was something that he admired - something he wish he could do for himself. She was pretty too, of course, but something about her drew him in like moths to a flame. Those feelings only intensified as they grew older, as he learned more about the person who was Aubrey. He was hopelessly in love with someone he felt he would never deserve - and for him that was enough. She was a shining star - brilliant, and so far out of reach. He would always be there for her if he could help it, because even if they couldn't be together, she was a great friend to have on his side.
Which was why he was so thrilled when she came to him first.
Aubrey, if she was being honest with herself, thought Sunny was pretty cool.
He had been there for her when she was...not at her best, she'll admit. But he never judged her - silent and accepting, as always. Sunny was like an anchor in the midst of her stormy seas. She would always be grateful for all the little acts of kindness he did, and all the nights she spent pouring her heart out. That was something she wished she had - that cool stillness in the face of trouble. At the end of the day, it was like he would always be by her side.
So why was she doing this...?
