Chapter Text
It was a rare moment of peace for Lord and Lady Bridgerton. Kate was now healed and had begun going out, she had a flurry of visitors most days but everyone had been and had left.
Anthony had hovered and spent his days in the house between his sessions in Parliament wanting to make sure Kate was alright.
But now, Anthony was perched in the well loved armchair in their front room, they had finished their tea and Kate had gotten up to close the door after Emily had been and taken away the tea.
As she made her way back, Anthony’s hand shot out and grabbed Kate’s hand, as he pulled her towards her. “Have I told you today just how beautiful you are” he said as he brought her hand to his lips, pressing a loving kiss to her palm.
Kate grinned and shook her head “I don’t think you have” she said, her cheeks flushing at his compliment
“And have I told you today, how much I love you?” He said turning her hand over pressing kisses the back of her hand, across her knuckles and on her wedding ring.
“Now that you have” she said
“Good,” he said, pulling her more forcefully towards him, causing her to topple into his lap “let me show you just how much I love you” he said as Kate settled on his lap.
Kate grinned at him, leaning in and pressing her lips to his. “And I shall never tire of you telling or showing me” she said.
Gentle kisses passed between husband and wife, lost in the tenderness of the moment.
Anthony’s hand started to wander, caressing his wife’s leg. Slowly lifting her dress as his lips lingered longer, his tongue tickling her lips, begging for entry, as she parted her lips and the kiss began to deepen the door to the sitting room opened and Benedict stormed in looking harried.
“Anthony you need to tell mother to leave me be! She’s starting to give me a list!! The season is over!” He huffed as he flopped into a seat.
Anthony’s hand moved from Kate’s leg and she moved slightly to a less compromising position, and in the way as she knew her husband would very much like to murder his brother for the untimely interruption. Though 5 minutes later and he would have wish had never burst in…
“So much for peace and quiet with my wife” he whispered into Kate’s ear as she giggled before they turned their attention to Benedict, waiting for him to leave before they’d retire to their chambers and continue from where they left off.
