Chapter Text

Hajime Hinata. Born January 1st 1999. Born in Kyoto, Japan. Lives on the 11th floor of H - block, sky towers. Do i have the details right?

-Yes ma'am

So what is your complain? Asks a lilac haired officer in a soft yet stern voice. She wore a dark vest with a badge that read “Kyoko Kirigiri” Her uniform was different from the rest of the staff so Hajime assumed she held a higher rank than the others.

My girlfriend Chiaki Nanami has been missing for three days, I thought that she might be staying over at a friend's place... Or something on the first day but then she wouldn't answer my calls nor texts, wasn't active on any of her social media either.

Kirigiri types everything down on her computer and gets more details from Hajime about Chiaki and her last appearance, outfit, everything.

After typing in all the details she printed them out and made a new folder for this case

”Disappearance of Chiaki Nanami March 4th, 2021”

Hajime just observes as he taps his left foot on the cold marble tile while fidgeting with his keys

He felt a mix of emotions, as time passed reality struck him harder.

He realized that Chiaki could've possibly gone away from him.

forever

Before Chiaki's disappearance when she left the house Hajime never got to say an ‘I love you’ to her, he didn't get to bid her a proper goodbye, he hadn't hugged her for a final time, hadn't kissed her forehead.

There was so much they hadn't done yet. Hajime hadn't gotten to spend time with her in forever, he always had work. Guilt was starting to eat him up inside.

Hajime was snapped out of his thoughts by approaching footsteps on the cold marble floor accompanied by Kyoko's voice

Take these files and get solving this case Komaeda. This is Hinata Hajime your new client.

Hajime looked up to see a man with really light skin and even lighter hair. He had grey green eyes which gazed at him observably. He wore a beige coat with a white shirt. Red tie and matching khaki pants.

“Komaeda..Nagito Komaeda, I'll be your detective for this case”

He said in a monotone voice, he said with a hard to read look on his face. Well more like he had no look on his face, Hajime assumed Detectives had to stay professional and no friendly buddy-buddy bullshit

Umm...Nice to meet you, uh Mr. Komaeda. I'm glad you can help me on this case, Hajime said awkwardly.

Hajime thinks the guy looks younger than the other staff members. He feels skeptical that such a young detective would be experienced enough to help him on the case.

Kyoko somehow exactly knows what Hajime is thinking about

“He is probably the most skilled detective here, despite being young he's solved countless cases. He solved the murder case of his parents with no help from police officers or any detective at 18.”

Hajime was visibly in awe.

He lost his parents at 18!? and solved a murder case entirely by himself?! He thought to himself

Can we get solving the case already? Nagito muttered, while scrolling through his phone. He seemed like the epitome of bored.

I'll leave you both now, I've got work she said while walking out the door.
