Work Text:

In their three years at U.A., nobody in class A has seen Bakugou’s room.

So one night, after an evening of drinking cheap beer and eating greasy pizza and binging Brooklyn 99 , Mina proposed an idea.

A heist.

Everyone would pitch in six hundred yen, and whoever was the first to get into Bakugou’s room, won the whole pot of money.

There were just three rules:

  1. No talking about the heist.

  2. No quirks allowed.

  3. Evidence is required to qualify for the grand prize.

Half the class was immediately on board, coming up with ridiculous schemes. The other half were less than enthused, but were coerced by their friends or significant others to help.

When it came down to it, there were really only two rivals: Mina and Izuku. Both were confident enough that they could be the first one to see Bakugou’s room. The class was almost evenly split between the two competitors, which caused some unexpected friction. Sero, for instance, was helping Mina while his boyfriend was helping Midoriya.

“I’m petty enough to withhold sex,” Todoroki deadpanned as he glared at the tape hero. “Keep that in mind.”

Sero turned red and gaped, but didn’t back down from the challenge. “Guess it’s just you and your hand tonight, then,” he smirked.

Before things could escalate, Mina and Izuku called a temporary truce. They agreed they wouldn’t plan or execute the heist until October 31, when they were already going to have a party to celebrate Halloween.

And so it was when Mina was dressed as Faye Valentine and Izuku was dressed as Naruto Uzumaki that they glared into each other’s eyes and shook hands. The game was on.

For the most part, their class didn’t really give a shit. They were drinking spiked punch and half-watching scary movies while chatting and laughing with each other.

But there were some vaguely planned schemes on both sides.

Mina tried first. She pounded on Bakugou’s door.

“Oi! Shut the fuck up! I’m taking a nap.”

“Bakugou,” Mina whined. “I need your help. Can you let me in for a sec?”

“Tch,” Bakugou’s voice was muffled through the door. “Can’t you wait? I’ll be out there in like half an hour.”

“No,” Mina said, forcing tears. “I don’t think Kirishima likes me anymore.”

“Are you fuckin’ joking?” Bakugou spat. “He’s literally texting me every two minutes telling me how overwhelmed he feels whenever he’s around you. He’s a lovesick idiot when it comes to you. Always has been, at least as long as I’ve known him.”

Mina blinked, forgetting her goal. “Really?”

“Yes. Now fuck off so I can get some sleep.”

Mina felt too guilty-- and giddy --to continue bothering him.

Izuku watched the exchange and rolled his eyes. He took out his phone and sent a text.

Izuku: kacchan! why arent you at the party?

Katsuki: im trying to take a goddamn nap, nerd. fuck off

Izuku: so mean 🥺

Katsuki: srsly just let me sleep. ill see you later

Izuku: wait

Katsuki: fuck. what

Izuku: idk if i like my costume. can i show you real quick?

Katsuki: send a pic

Izuku: it looks better in person

Katsuki: jfc. then i’ll see you in 30 min. after my fuckin nap.

Katsuki: im turning off my phone so fuck off for real this time, nerd

Izuku sighed. Well, he hadn’t expected that to work, after all. He had many other plans he could try out...

Both he and Mina did. They became more unhinged as the night went on.

Mina blasted music outside of Bakugou’s room. The door opened a sliver, just wide enough to blast an explosion at the speakers before he retreated back inside.

Izuku crawled through the overhead vents, only to fall through the ceiling above the kitchen.

Then Mina convinced Kirishima to makeout with her, strategically positioned against the wall bordering Bakugou’s room. They both moaned loudly as they sucked each other’s lips and neck. Again, Bakugou just opened his door wide enough to launch an explosion at them.

Next, Izuku tried to hop from his dorm room balcony onto Katsuki’s. But it was extremely hard to do without using his quirk. He fell into the bushes and had to text a giggling Uraraka to help him back into the building again.

As the night went on, both Mina and Izuku became more exhausted and distracted; after a while they just wanted to eat and drink with their friends. As they called a truce, clinking shot glasses of tequila together, Katsuki emerged from his bedroom.

“Ka-Kacchan,” Izuku choked after sucking on a lime wedge.

Katsuki sneered at them all. “Messy bitches. Why the fuck were you all trying to bother me earlier?”

“Midoriya has the hots for you!” Mina chirped, an evil glint in her eye. “He wanted to hook up with you tonight.”

Izuku turned bright red. If this was part of some convoluted plan so Mina could win the bet, it wasn’t worth it. “Mina, stop--”

Katsuki snorted. “Yeah, right.”

For some reason, that reaction made Izuku feel worse. He smiled weakly and gave a hollow laugh. “Yeah. Mina’s just kidding.”

Mina frowned. “Midoriya--”

Izuku shrugged. “Here’s your chance to win. I give up.”

With that he left the kitchen and went to sit next to Uraraka and Todoroki on the couch, where they were cuddling and watching a movie while some of their classmates passed a joint. Izuku fought back tears and before he knew it, he was drifting asleep.

He had no idea how long he’d been passed out when he felt someone prodding his shoulder.

“Oi, nerd. You fuckin’ fell asleep.”

“Oh,” Izuku said, yawning and rubbing his eyes. “Sorry.”

“Tch. Why are you sorry?”

Before Izuku could answer he gasped as he felt strong arms lift him up. His face was pressed against a warm, firm chest. “Kacchan,” he breathed.

Katsuki just sucked his teeth and carried them both down the hallway toward the dorm rooms.

When Izuku was tossed onto his bed, he sighed in relief and stretched. “Thanks Kacchan. Goodnight.”

“Goodnight, nerd.”

Izuku expected to hear the door shut. Instead, he felt the mattress dip slightly as Katsuki joined him underneath the covers.

“Kacchan!” Izuku gasped. “Why are you still in my room?”

“ Your room?” Katsuki repeated. “Deku, this is my room.”

“I--” Izuku stuttered as he felt Katsuki’s arm snake across his torso, holding him tight to his chest. “What are you doing?” he whispered.

“Holding you,” Katsuki grumbled. “Unless you don’t want me to--”

“No!” Izuku said immediately. “I like it. A lot.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah…”

Izuku gasped as he felt Katsuki kiss his neck. The kisses trailed up to his jaw until Katsuki’s lips locked onto his own. Izuku moaned into Katsuki’s mouth. Katsuki pressed himself into Izuku, his hand holding Izuku’s face as his thumb lazily rubbed his cheek. After a while they both pulled away to catch their breath.

“Kacchan,” Izuku whispered.

“Deku,” Katsuki answered, pecking him on the forehead. “Looks like you won the bet.”

Izuku gasped again. “You knew about that?”

Katsuki snorted. “You and Racoon Eyes ain’t exactly subtle.”

Izuku laughed nervously. “I’m so embarrassed.”

“You should be,” Katsuki teased.

“Shut up,” Izuku giggled and lightly swatted at Katsuki’s chest. “Anyway, I technically didn’t win the bet.”

Katsuki raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”

Izuku sighed, hesitating before he answered. “I didn’t get photographic evidence that I was actually in your room.”

“Fuck that,” Katsuki said. He pulled Izuku into a deep kiss again, this time running his hands through his soft green curls. Izuku leaned into it, clinging onto Katsuki’s broad shoulders as his tongue entered his mouth. He would gladly stay like that for the rest of the night. At least, until he saw a bright light flash, temporarily blinding him in the otherwise dark room.

“What--?” Izuku started.

“There,” Katsuki said firmly as he tossed his phone to the side. He kissed the corner of Izuku’s mouth.

“There?” Izuku repeated, his brow furrowed. “What do you mean?”

“Texted the class group chat a photo of us in my room,” Katsuki said, biting his earlobe. “Now you win the bet.”

‘K-Kacchan!” Izuku yelped, mortified and proud and giddy.

Katsuki kissed his cheek, and smirked against his soft skin. “What’s your prize, like twelve thousand yen? Sounds like you owe me a dinner.”

Izuku gasped as Katsuki’s hands groped his hips. “Y-you think?”

“Mmm,” Katsuki hummed as his mouth latched onto Izuku’s neck. “Maybe not. Maybe it’s more like two or three dinners.” He lifted his head, grinning at Izuku’s flushed and freckled face. “Lucky for you, I’m a cheap date.”
