Jedediah really liked being hugged by Octavius.
At first he attributed it to their friendship. They had spent a lot of time with other miniatures that while they liked them, had never seemed to fully understand them. Managing so many people was stressful and something very unique to the museum, as they did it "for real" and not through implanted knowledge. That was something that Jedediah and Octavius could understand each other quite well, something that Jed enjoyed greatly in that friendship that allowed him to let off steam and share more experiences in that area.
Then he began to tell himself that it was due to the warmth that Octy's body emanated, because every time they embraced, he felt a curious sensation in his chest and stomach, as if he was glued to the small fire that Larry allowed them to light on the coldest winter days.
He also told himself it was from the smell of his friend. Something that was already beginning to seem strange to him, but he couldn't help but notice.
They were both in the habit of competing in everything, no longer as part of that rivalry, of those quarrels they never settled, but as a way of showing each other how well they got along and how much fun they had together.
And on several of those occasions, the blond allowed the general to win, only because Octavius was effusive and when he hugged him, Jed could smell his neck.
Octavius had a distinctive odor, something the cowboy had never smelled on any other figure in the Museum. He even liked the chestnut's sweat.
At first that struck him as extreme, disgusting even, but still he couldn't get it out of his head that it wasn't really an unpleasant smell, but something rather pungent and attractive that made Jed wish Octavius wouldn't release his effusive grip.
Maybe, and just maybe, if the general...I don't know...would come closer.....
That would calm the blond's eagerness to bring him roughly to himself, for that would be incredibly awkward and strange.
So, when they had scaled that globe in the most stupidly funny way possible, and Octavius found himself celebrating how he had beaten the cowboy by milliseconds, Jedediah could no longer help but make the desperate plea his heart and body was asking for.
- Octy...do you think you could come closer? - Jededaiah had lowered the brim of his hat. He couldn't bear for Octavius to see him with a red face.
The chestnut stopped in the middle of a ridiculous party dance and looked curiously at the blond.
- So?- he took a stiff step in his direction and remained static, without understanding.
- Just a little longer- Jedediah muttered, continuing his refusal to lift his hat.
- How about now? - Octavius was a step behind Jedediah and was still equally confused by his companion's request.
- A little more- Octavius was about to start protesting but he could see the cowboy moving his hands nervously, so he thought it was a good idea to follow through with his odd request.
- Jed...- Octavius whispered with genuine concern. His face was contracted and his eyes shone with seriousness.
- Just a little bit more- said the blond, raising his head at last, receiving Octavius' concern with flushed cheeks and his lower lip clenched between his teeth nervously.
Octavius stiffened. Not because the dawn had come, at least not the one that made them mere figurines again, but because of the glow that Jededaiah emanated, a gleam in his eyes devastating and captivating.
Octavius sighed softly, shocked by all that his friend communicated without even saying a word.
He slid his hands subtly to the cowboy's waist and pulled him forward. He felt his chest close to his, and their hearts had begun to hammer against each other.
Jedediah, for his part, bit down on his lip with such force that the blood spurted in a small spot. He avoided uttering any embarrassing noise that would ruin the moment.
He wrapped his hands around the general's neck and hid his head in the hollow of his neck.
He inhaled that smell of sweat that made him so sick, a strong, sharp and strangely delicious smell.
Octavius was tickled by Jedediah's light beard, but at no time did he break the contact, he just kept his arm firmly around the waist he had held so far without thinking.
Now, both felt their bodies tingling thanks to something long hidden, something unconfessed that sought to come out no matter what.
But there was no need to speak, not when Jed placed his lips on Octy's neck, and Octy gasped deliciously, laughing too at the unexpectedness of the action and the realization that he had been waiting for it for a long time.
- Just a little bit more - it was Octavius' turn to ask, before Jedediah sent his hat and the Roman's helmet to hell and then smiled flirtatiously at him while holding his neck rather roughly.
Then they kissed in such a way that their knees began to tremble, completely terrified of all the pent-up love, longing and desire between these two friends.
They knew that their relationship had changed forever, but they refused to put a stop to it, to something they had long desired.
