There are two families of druids and bandraoi, the Rose family who served the guardian of spring and summer and the Schnee family who served the guardian of winter and fall. The two of them hate each other but that will all change with two.
Ruby rose is a powerful bandraoi, by the time she reached 15 years of age she has fully mastered her powers. While Weiss schnee is just as powerful if not more.
One day Ruby found a little yellow snake-like creature being chased by wolves. She saved it by creating a rose bush for it to hide in. The creature then gave the young girl a golden necklace with a semi circle jewel that looked like it was meant to click onto something else.
While this was happening Weiss found a small purple creature that looked like it was freezing to death so she took it home and helped warm it up, in return the creature gave her a purple necklace with a yellow semi circle jewel.
The girls asked what it meant but the little creatures said "I will connect you with your true love." This made the girls squeal in excitement.
But three years have passed since that fateful day and they've given up on the idea.
Then one day Yang and Ruby decide to snuck into a Schee masquerade party. Ruby noticed that her necklace disappeared so she went to find only to find it connected to another necklace belonging to someone in a light blue mask.
It was love at first sight, they greeted each other with respect and wonder, then they promised to see each other tomorrow in secret, but Weiss's father caught wind and forbade Weiss to see Ruby ever again.
Weiss was never the one to listen so she snuck away to meet Ruby once more. They met by a large tree and they kissed for the first time, both accidentally and purposefully.
They're not stupid they know that their families wouldn't approve so they decided to run away together to start a brand new life. They bought a house together, Weiss grew a bean farm for food and money while Ruby went on bounty hunts for fun and money. They even got married.
One day, there was a knock on the door. Weiss opened it only to find Ruby's family, Yang and her mother Summer Rose. They just wanted to see Ruby again and wanted to know why she left. Weiss then explained everything to them. Ruby then entered the house with a land shark she intended to cook. Worried for her lover's safety, she jumped in front of her to protect from whatever her mother was planning.
Only to find that she has no quarrel with Weiss and only wanted to find her. Summer then explained that she'll even let Weiss be a part of the rose family as long as Ruby comes home and that made sure to tell Ruby that Weiss can come with them.
