Summary
Months have gone by since the events of the village where Ethan had saved his daughter at the cost of his life, yet every day persists a new struggle; loneliness. He has his daughter, of course, but Mia was the very reason he was able to be holding her each day, simply because she chose to give her life for his. He wonders if, perhaps, living each day was a form of torture; a constant reminder that he should be the one dead, not Mia.
Amidst the days that go by, Ethan suffers from nightmares that plague him, a constant, ghastly reminder that he had gained so much, but the loss outweighed the gain. However, a sudden visit from Chris just might turn things around. It surprises the father at first, since he hasn't seen much of the older man ever since the destruction of the village, but then Chris becomes an ever-persistent presence in his life, and it makes Ethan feel... Strange, at first, but it's rather welcomed later down the line.
However, is Chris' visit for better, or for worse? What's to say that this time around, with Chris being more constant in Ethan's life, the father is suddenly safe? Is there a chance that Ethan gets his happy ending, or is history destined to repeat itself?
