Work Text:
Don’t get Anne and Sasha wrong, they love Marcy beyond description and wish nothing but the best for them, yet that doesn’t stop them from being a little frustrated about Marcy’s refusal to make themself anything other than store bought Ramen that costs 96 cents.
”It’s not even the good kind!” Sasha lightly chides their raven-haired partner for their frankly horrible taste.
“Well I don’t mind it. Plus it’s cheaper and faster.”
Marcy rolls their eyes and briefly sets down their Ramen to start coding their newest project. Sasha’s not even sure why Marcy’s pushing themself so intensely with a personal project anyways, he guesses it’s just the usual “tunnel vision”.
Sasha sighs in frustration, but decides to leave Marcy’s study to meet Anne in the living room. She’s watching Suspicion Island, which has somehow made it to Season 14, despite the fact that Anne is literally the only person watching the show still. Sasha dramatically face plants onto the couch, while also draping the rest of himself across Anne’s lap.
“…Hey Sash.” Anne just stares at them quizzically for a moment, before readjusting herself and patting him across their back a couple times.
He groans into the dark gray couch for a solid thirty seconds before turning over and facing Anne. She gives him a knowing look before her expression softens.
“Want to talk about it?” Anne prompts as she traces little shapes across Sasha’s stomach. They murmur a little noise of contentment before starting their rant.
“Marcy’s shit Ramen taste is the problem of the day. I mean seriously how do they even eat that stuff? It’s nasty! It’s a shame to all noodles out there and-“ Sasha continues ranting about the store bought ramen for about 5 minutes. Anne nods along, yet clings to every word.
Sasha ends the rant with a huff of annoyance, but their face soon morphs into a crestfallen expression. “I just worry about Marcy y’know? They’re overworking themself again and I don’t know how to get them to take a break.”
Anne ponders this for a moment before being struck with a stroke of absolute genius.
”What if we try to get them to cook?”
Sasha blinks a couple times. “You know how that went before. Plus they probably wouldn’t want to.”
”I know that, but it’ll get them out of their room, we can spend some time together, and we can talk to them about how this is making us feel!”
”Oh that’s really smart actually.” Sasha hums. “Yeah let’s do it!”
The loud thundering footsteps could be heard at least 3 floors beneath them, but the only thing on Anne and Sasha’s mind was finally getting their partner out of their study.
The door swings open so quickly that any normal door would have just flown off the hinges. Marcy knows this because Anne has destroyed 3 doors, while Sasha has brutally demolished 5. They’ve tried every sort of enforcement imaginable (including actual magic), but apparently there is nothing stronger than two people who are incredibly worried about their partner.
”MARCY! MARCY! MARCY!” Both of their partners engulf them in a hug and squeeze them tightly, which nearly sends their klutzy self sprawling to the floor.
”ANNE! SASHA! ANNE! SASHA! I’m happy to see you both, but is something up?” Their two partners move away to stand beside their desk.
Anne looks to Sasha and he nods in return.
”Well…” ,they start to fiddle with the bottom of his shirt, “We were just wondering if you wanted to help us make dinner?”
Marcy just blankly stares at him for a minute before their gaze shifts to Anne.
“Uh are you sure you want me in there with you? I mean after the last two fires-“
Anne sets a reaffirming hand on their shoulder and smiles brightly, which tells Marcy all they need to know. They nod and grab both Anne and Sasha’s hands for the walk to the kitchen. Sasha’s giddy smile every time they hold each other even after dating for 3 years does not go unnoticed.
Anne positions herself in front of the stove and clasps her hands together. “So what do we feel like today?”
Sasha makes a noncommittal noise and Marcy just shrugs.
Anne pauses for a moment in thought. “Okay how about Khao Pad?” Sasha and Marcy nod in response. Anne beams and she begins rapidly giving out orders that both of her partners eagerly try to carry out.
Anne would never admit it, but she is a bit of a control freak when it comes to the kitchen and food. If you bother her when she stress cooks you better hope you have your funeral paid for. Anne usually cooks, with Sasha only occasionally doing so. He’s not bad at cooking, they just doesn’t like doing it.
Unfortunately, Anne has gotten so used to cooking by herself, she completely forgets about Marcy and Sasha. After about a minute she ends up subconsciously making the dish by herself, while Marcy and Sasha watch on in astonishment. It’s technically a simple dish, but that makes no difference to the lovestruck idiots watching on.
”Annnnnnd it’s done!”
Anne’s heart swells at Marcy and Sasha enthusiastically devouring the food. The wonder of your partners enjoying something you made for them never fades, Anne would say it only grows ever stronger.
After finishing Anne’s amazing dish Marcy places the plate in the dishwasher, walks over to their partners and plants a kiss on Anne’s forehead and Sasha’s beauty mark.
“Love you both! I’m gonna start back on my-“
Whatever Marcy says next is drowned out by roaring thunder that shakes the entire house. Rain drops clang obnoxiously on the roof, Marcy begins to reconsider going right back to their project.
Anne looks to Sasha, as an idea begins to form in both of their heads. Marcy is too lost in thought to notice the mischievous grins growing on their partners faces. The blond and brunette slowly sneak behind Marcy and linger for a moment. Marcy notices too late, so before they can even ask what their partners are doing, they’ve been scooped up by Sasha. He carries them to the living room, while Anne follows and starts chanting.
“Cuddles. Cuddles! CUDDLES!”
Once Marcy realizes what’s happening they can’t help but beam and join in with the chanting. Well, they try to, but they can’t stop giggling from the silliness of it all. Marcy’s giggling is contagious, so by the time they all flop onto the couch they’re wheezing loudly.
Later Marcy manages to compose themself long enough long enough to wrap their arms around Sasha’s neck and curl into their left shoulder. Anne had wrapped her arms around his abdomen and leaned into his right shoulder.
A beat passes before Sasha’s voice fills the comfortable silence.
”Hey Marce, we wanted to talk to you about how you’ve been working recently.”
Marcy makes an unintelligible noise in response.
“Hm? We didn’t hear you Marce.” Anne mumbles.
They make the noise again and much to Anne and Sasha’s surprise, they’re snoring lightly. Not like Anne’s super loud snore that annoys even the walls, but more of a small content noise. Anne and Sasha look at each other briefly, then grin fondly at their partner.
“It’s only 8 pm, but I think I can go to sleep here. I don’t want them to wake up.” Anne muses.
“Yeah, me either.“
Anne then turns towards Marcy and gestures at their sleeping form. “Okay, but we’re talking once you wake up.”
Sasha kisses Anne and Marcy on their heads and smiles. Anne kisses his beauty mark in return, snuggling closer into their neck.
”Good night Anne.”
”Mmmm night Sash.”
The storm stopped 10 minutes ago, however Anne, Marcy, and Sasha are sleeping soundly, unconcerned with such trivial things.
All that matters to the sleeping trio are being together and their peaceful dreams of one another.
