Safe Place To Hide
The cold dark tunnels weren’t safe. They were just an escape from the prison they were both held in. After days of navigating them and using the Mera Mera fruit as little as possible, the two finally saw natural light.
“Sunlight!” Vivi exclaimed crawling ahead of her companion.
“Wait, before we step out we need to know what side of the line we're on and determine where to go.” Sabo stopped the Princess. Well, uncrowned Queen technically. “Is it safe to go back to your country if we are near Paradise?”
“I don't know. It might be safer to head elsewhere until we know that they aren't after us.”
“Any friends that can help us?”
“Not on that part of the Grand Line. They would be too far. Especially since I don't hear a waterfall.”
That hadn't been on the revolutionary’s mind at all. The possibility that they could be near reverse mountain.
“How about you?” she asked him.
“I just need someplace safe to contact my base.”
“Then where's a safe place?”
“That's the thing. There is no safe place.”
“How about a pirate ship?”
“Depends on the crew. I know a few that would be helpful right now. A few I definitely would prefer not to run into at the moment.” he thought about it a moment more. “unfortunately all the safe ones are in the new world. What made you think of that.”
“Last time I was in a situation like this it was a small pirate crew that saved me and took me home. I almost joined them.”
“What crew and do you know where they are?”
Vivi took off her bracelet to show him her tattoo. A Jolly Roger that was all too familiar.
“Of course it would be my little brother. I guess we're hoping for the new world then.” a smile on Sabo’s face.
“You know where my crew is?”
“Nope.” he popped the p. “I do have his vivra card on me though and know he's in the new world.”
“That’s useful. We can tell where he is and head that way.”
Sabo pulled out the paper. Holding it in the palm of his hand he signed when it moved toward the light.
“Looks like we got lucky. The Sunny is definitely safe to call Dragon from and Luffy won't mind either of us being on his ship.”
Vivi crawled through first. Followed closely by Sabo. A line of boats and ships floating nearby. They weren’t in the best condition.
“Lucky might be an understatement.”
“Are we both sure we’re not Ds?”
“I’m technically the ruler of one of the 20 kingdoms”
“A good one too.”
“You are the brother of two apparently. Yeah, I met Ace too.”
“I'm kind of jealous.”
The two set sail heading wherever Luffy's card was pointing them.
