Kara choked on air and Lena’s throat went dry, forcing a dehydrated cookie cough. Their friends all swiveled towards them, nosy and completely interested in the answer. Kara gave Lena a shy look and bent down to get to Esme’s eye level. “No, we’re best friends. What makes you think that we’re—“ She coughed. “—girlfriends?”
At a welcoming game night for Esme, Kara and Lena are their usual obvious selves. Esme asks an innocent question and through the use of her powers, gets some interesting answers.
