Work Text:
It was going to be a homemade ramen kind of night for Kung Jin and his husband. The two men have been preparing tonight’s dinner together. Even if it is just ramen, it was still fun and romantic for the two of them to enjoy. As Koma finished cutting up the vegetables to add to the ramen, he suddenly felt a pair of arms wrap around his waist and a head being laid on one of his shoulders. It was Kung Jin, who was also giving Koma loving kisses on the side of his neck, too. Koma let out a sweet chuckle as he felt Kung Jin suddenly make a fart noise into Koma’s neck.
“Do not worry, babe. Dinner will be ready in a bit.” Koma said to him. Kung Jin pouted. Though, it was not exactly the ramen that Kung Jin wanted at the moment.
“Can I just have you for dinner instead?” Kung Jin asked him. Koma blushed but was still smiling.
“Hun, you know that you need food to survive and keep up your strength as a warrior. We both do.” Koma replied and was honest with him at the same time.
“I Mean, I still can get my daily protein with you.” Kung Jin spoke up. Koma looked at his husband, who gave him a wink as soon as they made eye contact. Koma gave him a quick look and turned his head away again, still blushing.
“Pervert.” Koma said with a smile on his face. Kung Jin chuckled a couple of times himself, too.
“Only with you, babe. Only with you. You are the only person that I want to be this way with.” Kung Jin said back. Deep down, Koma did not mind Jin being this way with him. In fact, he loves it. Though sometimes...it just takes Koma by surprise with some of the things that his husband does. But regardless, Koma and Kung Jin love each other so much and are very happy. Which is all that mattered to both of them. Koma smiled once again.
“I love you.” Kung Jin told him. Koma turned his head to look at Jin once again.
“I love you, too.” Koma said back. Jin gave Koma a quick and gentle kiss on the lips before he moved his arms off of his husband’s waist and helped him finish up cooking the ramen and side dishes for tonight. Both of them also felt so lucky to have one another in their lives. Also to Jin, Koma was the most beautiful man that he has ever known and he does not want anyone else.
Koma does not want anyone else to have a lover either. It was much more than a marriage that bound them together. They both have a bond with each other that neither has ever had with any other person in their lives. And it was wonderful and unique. Just like the couple themselves. Also, as much as Jin was a jokester with Koma, Koma did not mind it at all. In fact, that was one of things that he loves about his husband.
“You know, I never thought that I would ever get married. But honestly, I am enjoying it quite a lot.” Jin suddenly piped up.
“I thought the same thing before meeting you. And also honestly, I feel like the happiest being in the world.” Koma said back. Kung Jin smiled.
“Me too. I do also feel like I am the luckiest man in the world.” Kung Jin said.
“In what way?” Koma asked, feeling curious about what Jin meant by that.
“Because I have you as my husband and my soulmate.” Kung Jin replied. Koma stopped what he was doing when hearing that. Kung Jin saw and turned his head again to look at Koma.
“I mean it. I feel that way having you as my husband and yes, to me, you are my soulmate. Being with you has been so amazing and I feel lucky to be able to spend the rest of my life this way. And I do not care if you are human or not. Regardless, you are incredible and to me, I rather you be the way you are than someone you are not to fit in with society. Fuck the rest of the world. There is only one you and I love every single part of who you are. Inside and out.” Kung Jin explained to him.
Koma smiled back before he suddenly spoke.
“I love you the way you are, too. And I also feel so lucky to have you in my life. Thank you for supporting and loving me the way I am.” Koma told him.
“You are welcome, dear. And thank you as well.” Kung Jin said back.
“You are welcome, too, babe.” Koma also said back to his hubby. The two of them went back to finishing up their bowls of ramen and such before heading outside the balcony to enjoy a meal together while watching the sunset. The sky was filled with the colors of pink and orange as they watched. The air was a bit breezy but not too uncomfortable at the same time. It was quite nice all around.
Koma could not help but suddenly have an uneasy thought pop up in his head. He turned his head to look at Kung Jin, who just took a bite of ramen from his bowl.
“...What happens if we can no longer be together?” Koma suddenly asked him. This surprised Kung Jin and he looked at his husband as well.
“What do you mean?” Kung Jin asked a question back. Koma hesitated for a few seconds before explaining to him.
“I know that as Shaolins warriors, we have and need to be up to the task and ready when it comes to battle. But..what if one of us got hurt?” Koma spoke and asked another question as well. Kung Jin put his chopsticks down on the table and suddenly hugged his husband.
Koma was quite shocked by what Kung Jin just did. And yet, he hugged him back.
“There is NO way that I am going to lose you! Nor that you will lose me. I will do everything and anything to make sure that you are safe. And you do not have to worry about me, I am a tough guy! We will always be with each other and together, no matter the circumstance.” Kung Jin replied to his questions. As much as they made Koma happy, still..he knew that there was a chance that something bad could actually happen.
“But...what if it does happen? Or worse...what if we could never have a night like this ever again after that?” Koma asked yet another question to the love of his life. Kung Jin looked at his husband’s face.
“Then I will always cherish this one night together. I cherish all the times we have spent together and never take any of them or you for granted. Do not give a thought about what could happen to us. Just focus on what is going on right now. And do not dwell on losing me. I promise that everything is going to be okay and we will be together for the rest of our lives. I am not going anywhere . Best believe that!” Kung Jin answered and explained to Koma.
Koma began to smile again. Plus, Kung Jin was right. There was no reason to focus on what could happen to them and should just focus on what is happening right now. And Koma was perfectly fine with that. Koma looked at Jin, still smiling.
“I agree. I mean, I am always going to worry about you but I am not going to let it get to me like what just happened. I promise.” Koma told him.
“And I'm always going to worry about you, too but..I also want to enjoy what we have right now. Like I said, just focus on the present, do not worry about the what if. And even if we do have to fight, I will be by your side all the way.” Kung Jin told him. Koma nodded.
“I will be by your side, too, my love. Always.” Koma said back to him. Jin leaned forward and placed his lips against Koma’s, giving him a kiss. Koma and Jin kissed for several seconds before they pulled away from one another.
“You are so amazing.” Koma spoke.
“So are you, hun. So are you.” Kung Jin said back to him. After another minute or two, the two lovers went back to eating their dinner together while watching the sunset. While the sun went down, the two of them cuddled up together on the small couple’s lounger they had out on the balcony.
“I can truly get used to it.” Both the men thought at the same time. Koma snuggled up against the side of his husband a bit more. Jin wrapped an arm around his man to keep him in place.
“Feeling comfy?” Jin asked, to make sure. Koma placed his head on Jin’s shoulder.
“Yes, dear.” Koma replied. Jin placed his head on top of Koma’s. He also felt so much better about what happened earlier at dinner. Thanks to Kung Jin.
“I am glad.” Jin told him. Jin and Koma spent a wonderful and relaxing evening on the balcony, being happy and relaxed with one another. It was an evening well spent. And these two were going to be together forever.
The End
