Work Text:

it had been a rough day- no, a rough week.  it seemed like no matter what kirishima did, everything went wrong and the more he thought about it, the more upset and stressed out he'd get.  all he wanted was to go back to his dorm and sleep.

as kiri walked across UA's campus, he could feel all of his emotions start to bubble up in his throat but tears refused to come out.  he could feel himself starting to go numb to the negative emotions that had been consuming him all week long.  he wasn't trying to suppress them, it was just happening on it's own.

upon reaching the dorm buildings, he was completely emotionless.  he knew feeling like that was wrong and maybe he should be concerned but he just couldn't find it in himself to care.  he couldn't find it in himself to care about anything, actually.

he walked past a few of his classmates that were occupying the common room, completely ignoring their greetings or questions.

he trudged up the stairs and down the hall until he reached his room.  sighing, he opened the door.  he closed his black curtains to the only window in his room, turned on a fan, took off his school clothes and crawled under the covers of his unmade bed.  he pulled his comforter over his head and put on a random playlist he had in his phone with a sleep timer.

it wasn't too long until he fell asleep.  it was only four pm.

--

he woke up at two wide awake and feeling even worse than he had when he went to bed.  he was longing for some form of release but knew better than to do anything that would get him in trouble with not only the school, but his boyfriend, if he found out.

he turned on his bedside lamp and opened the drawer of his nightstand, and pulled out his red ink pen.  he slowly dragged the tip across his upper thigh, leaving trails of ink behind that were as red as his hair.

after about 5 times, he moved onto drawing shapes and symbols on his hand.  some crosses, some hearts, some random lines, he kept going until he felt like his hand was covered enough to his liking.  placing the pen back in the drawer, he clicked on his phone.  three missed calls and all from bakugou.  maybe kiri should've told him that he was going to sleep so his boyfriend wouldn't worry about him.  kirishima knew he knew that he was having a rough week.

he sighed.  although he felt like he should've told bakugou, he couldn't find it in him to care.  there were a few texts too that the boy didn't even bother opening.  he just set his phone back down and turned off the light.  falling asleep came easy once again.

--

the next day, kirishima woke up well after classes had started for the day.  he had slept for almost 18 hours straight, with that short gap at two am being the only factor that stopped the consistent slumber.

he couldnt find it in himself to go to his classes for the day so he just decided on trying to go back to sleep.  his body was telling him it was hungry and dehydrated, but he just didn't care.  he didn't even want to look at his phone to see what his boyfriend had to say about his absence in school.

going to sleep sounded so easy.  he couldn't think of anything better.  he had only been awake for a few minutes, not even sitting up to take in the day, but closed his eyes once again.  it took a bit more patience this time since he had slept for so long already, his body really didn't need more sleep, but eventually, it gave in.

--

kirishima was abruptly woken up by a loud pounding noise.  he shot up in his bed, startled from how he felt like it had vibrated his entire body.  he sat still for a few seconds, staring at his door thinking that's where it might've come from but nothing made a sound.

he began to shuffle back down under his covers with the thought that it was just in his head when it happened again, this time accompanied with a "Shitty-hair, open this door!"

bakugou.

kirishima sighed.  he loved his boyfriend so much but he didn't want him to see him so lifeless and pathetic.  whatever he was going through right now, was not him and he didn't want anyone to see that, but he knew bakugou wouldn't understand.

he slowly got up off his bed and begrudgingly made his way over to the door.

bakugou was about to bang on it for round three when the red head finally opened the door.

he was just in his boxers and his hair was a disheveled mess.  despite sleeping over 20 hours, he had deep dark circles underneath his eyes and bakugou had never seen such a lifeless expression from his boyfriend.

"K-..Kirishima?" bakugou stuttered out, making his way into the room, following his boyfriend after the other seemed to have just opened the door as an invitation in.

kirishima sat down on his bed, blankly staring at the floor as bakugou stared at him, awestruck.  this wasn't his boyfriend.  he looked so empty.

"Kiri, please."

kirishima looked up, expression never faltering.  he gulped.  he hadn't made a sound in so long and his throat was so dry.

"It's hard." he croaked out, his voice cracking in the process.

bakugou's expression softened.  he knew better than to show kirishima how scared he was over how the younger was acting, right now.  he saw the marks his boyfriend had made on his upper thigh and moved to sit next to him on the unmade bed.

kirishima's eyes found their way back to the floor and he felt the weight next to him.  without looking at the other, he leaned and placed his head on his boyfriend's shoulder.

bakugou leaned in more and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend.  "I'm so sorry, baby.  I'm so sorry things are so hard right now." he comforted, petting the red head's messy head of hair.

kirishima could feel the fog lifting from his head as a singular tear broke free and rolled down his cheek.  his boyfriends' words were all it took.   the dam broke and kiri bursted into sobs.

they were loud and seemed uncontrollable, similar to a child's.  he sounded so broken.

bakugou turned the younger boy into his chest and held him closer, rubbing his back.  it was hard for him to keep it together as he listened to his lover's heart-wrenching sobs.

kirishima's entire body was shaking and his hands gripped tightly onto bakugou's school uniform.  he felt so pathetic.  he couldn't control his crying at all and he knew he was being annoying and an inconvenience.  he didnt deserve to have bakugou there with him.  he didn't deserve the comfort.

it was a few minutes before kirishima seemed to calm dowm.  "Baby, do you wanna lay down so I can hold you?" bakugou asked, wanting to do anything he could for his boyfriend.

kirishima pulled away with his eyes glued shut, still crying, nodding weakly.

bakugou held onto his boyfriend once again and laid down slowly, positioning kiri so he was facing his chest.  the younger boy once again gripped his lover's shirt, continuing to cry into it.

"I love you so much.  You're gonna be okay.  I'm here for you and I'm never leaving." bakugou whispered while petting his boyfriend's hair. "It's all gonna be okay."

after some time, kirishima's cries subsided into soft whimpers and eventually into even softer snores.

all of his crying exhausted him and even though bakugou wasnt that tired, he wanted to stay with his partner for as long as he'd allow him to.

the blonde boy fell asleep holding onto his lover tightly as they drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

Notes:

literally didnt mean for it to turn into this. was gonna use it to vent and then turn it into a Really fluffy ending but just. didn't feel like it anymore.
