   Summary

   The Earth is dying, its natural resources exhausted and abused, and humanity can only watch in terror as it crumbles and burns around them. In a lonely labor camp in Iceland, Prison Warden Black Jack resigns himself to a captain's death as the ship of man's foolishness sinks around him. Godoh has escaped with his robot Olga, and Black Jack can only hope that the young man's journey to find the legendary phoenix gives him some peace in death, even if it holds none for the warden. But even in the darkness at the end of the world, there's light: the light of a robot girl with a loving heart.
