no we can't paint the angel's wings red, keigo

Summary:

it's christmas, and izuku is more than happy to get it over with if keigo keeps asking to paint the wings red on the angel

Notes:

just a quick thing ;; this is set after the events in 'the view from halfway down'! you don't need to read it, just know izuku is a quirkless hero and keigo is his older brother figure!

also very quick oneshot just to make me : ) and help me get back into writing a lil bit more

Work Text:

"keigo, if you ask to paint the wings one more time, i'm actually going to rip your head off."

izuku laughs out at hitoshi's blunt and aggressive comment, shaking his head. it had been close to two hours now since keigo had asked to paint the wings of the angel, and it was starting to wear down on the poor purple haired man's psyche apparently. he couldn't blame him. unlike izuku, hitoshi hadn't grown up with keigo's shenanigans, and wasn't used to them. his visits were the most hitoshi got to meet of keigo, and for a long time, he avoided them out of pure awkwardness. so, understandably, he didn't know how to interact.

"but it'd look so cool, eggplant!"

"i swear to fucking god--"

"alright, alright you two idiots! enough! i'll make you both test subjects if you don't shut up!" mei warns, the immediate silence telling izuku that she truly ruled those two with her words.

shaking his head out with a sigh, he finished putting the candy canes on the tree, flicking both of the offender's foreheads. the noise he got from keigo was definitely something of a weird screech, but the noise he got from hitoshi was a generally offended scoff. yeah, these were his idiots alright.

"how about this, we'll break out the second angel and interchange them. we can paint this angel's wings," izuku offers, which gets keigo as hyped as can be.

"he doesn't even go here!!!" hitoshi groaned, crossing his arms.

"making a mean girls reference is not going to make me budge, hito," izuku rolls his eyes, snorting.

"i'm sorry that you're so jealous of me, but i can't help that i'm popular," keigo taunts, earning a hard glare from the tired purple haired man.

izuku sighs loudly, he knows the two are going to continue to fight, so he opts to sit between them, crossing his arms indignantly. he was going to mediate these two, otherwise he was quite sure he was going to go insane from their bickering.

"don't make me put you two in your get along sweater," mei says, warning tone prominent in her voice. it gets the two of them to shut up instantly, even keigo offers no snark in return about wanting to get into the get along sweater. izuku can't blame him, the sweater was not made for two people and took an hour to get off last time.

despite that, watching his friends and family interact is enough to make him smile as he watches mei begin to pester hitoshi about letting her use his quirk more in testing. he hums when keigo leans back with him, offering a quirk of the brow.

"happy?"

"yeah. really happy."
