Work Text:
It wasn't easy to sneak off being the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order. But the few times he managed, it would be to one place, Dagobah, his family's home. And to the tiny hut of his family, of his lover and their child. Once his child was old enough they would return to the temple. But for now, it was safer and smarter to keep them hidden, he wasn't Kenobi or young Skywalker who were oblivious to the failed attempts at hiding their relationships to Duchess Satine and Senator Amidala. Maybe the advantage of age was handier that known. And maybe that's how he kept his family secret and safe for so long. Kept far from the Order and the Republic. Thought his lover missed her work as a Jedi, she was happy raising their child. And while time apart put some strain on their bond, it made the time spent together all the more special.
Like now, sitting at a tiny table just his height, across from his wife, their child in between them, and his favorite stew (that everyone he knows say is inedible) a domestic moment, a moment deeply needed. Just the three of them, not just two like how it started
Few exceptions existed in the Jedi Order. Some were allow, some were not. And much like his fellow councillor Ki-Adi-Mundi one was made for him. The exception of a child. Only him and his beloved Yaddle were left in his species, and following protocol they were allow to mate and bare a child. And while awkward at first, both grew to love and care for another. Leading to his child. A perfect mix of him and his lover. When the child was revealed, both he and Yaddle were overjoyed. And since in no doubt their child was force sensitive, Yaddle stepped away from her work as a Jedi to care and raise their child. While he as many called it was the "bread-winner" for his family. It put some strain on their relationship but that made the small time they had together all the more special. Like now.
Once dinner was finished, food was packed away, and their child, Grogu, was sound asleep, it was time for them. He updated Yaddle with the going-ons at the temple, of his lineage and the pride he held for them. Yaddle sat quiet till he finish, updating him of Grogu's growth. He smiled at how big he was. It was only a short time until Yaddle and Grogu returned to the temple. He couldn't wait to have his lover back with him. They talked in their native tongue until the fire died away. As darkness fell, he smiled and lead Yaddle to bed. Tonight was the perfect night to give Grogu a little sibling. After all you're suppose to cherish your loved ones, and some times that means giving your child a little sibling.
