Work Text:

"Karin," Sasuke groaned. "Let go." Sasuke tried to tug his hand out of the woman's grip, but despite being a small, petite woman she was certainly strong and would not budge. She was dragging him into the halls and out of the building with their other friend walking behind them.

"Oh come on Sasuke, you need to start having more fun."

"I told you, I have to work."

"Yes and all you do is work, work, work. How are you going to meet your future husband if all you do is stay in your office?"

"I hate to admit it but Karin has a point you know." At the remark, the redhead glared at her white-haired companion.

"Shut it, Sui!"

"Hey, I’m agreeing with you!"

"Yes, and you also said and I quote, I hate to admit it which is a very backhanded compliment." Karin adjusted her glasses and huffed still keeping her hand on Sasuke's wrist. Suigetsu just rolled his eyes. "Whatever!" And this was why Sasuke wanted nothing more to do with this.

"You are both irritating and even if I was going to meet my future husband as you put it. I wouldn’t meet him in a club, Karin." She just shrugged.

"I said you needed to have more fun Sasuke and hey, you never know. Mr Right could be waiting for you there." She gave him a wink before quickly pushing him inside Jugo’s car. "Now we are going to this club and you are going to have fun."

Sasuke could only glare in response and pout as he was held against his will. Well, not necessarily. He knew Karin was right to some degree as much as he hated to admit it. All he had been doing since taking over his father’s company was work, feeling as if he had to make a name for himself and make his family proud. He was a workaholic, as his friends would put it. Sasuke was 28 now and had yet to have a proper boyfriend, he went out on a few dates here and there but none turned into anything serious unfortunately for him. The one person which Sasuke could only count turned out to be straight and was only leading him on because he thought it was funny.

Naruto would often try to get him to go out when he can, but it was annoying with all the women constantly hitting on him and trying to get his attention. Even when Sasuke did try out a gay bar or club, he never found anyone worthy of his time. Naruto thought he was being too fussy but weren’t clubs and bars for hookups and one night stands only? Sasuke was looking for a relationship and wasn’t likely to find one there.

“We’re here,” well that was quick. The Uchiha didn't realise how lost he was in his daydream. With a sigh, he begrudgingly stepped out of the vehicle and prepared for the night.

"This is boring."

"We’re here for Sasuke, not you idiot." Karin snapped, the place was pretty fancy and quite pricey but it didn't matter as the four of them had decent working jobs. There was a dance floor on all three floors yes three, a dining area on the second floor for eating in or ordering a take out, and a seating area which was where they were currently for chilling, resting and having drinks and a quick bite to eat like a sandwich or so.

"Well, it’s alright for you, at least you have some eye candy." Karin sighed, she was really tired of Suigetsu’s whining. Besides, it wasn't like this place was just for men, it just so happens that Karin had seen their flyer for a 'guy's night out' hinting that majority of customers for tonight would be men. And that was when she got the idea to drag Sasuke. They've only been in here for 25 minutes, not counting the queuing, granted they were still waiting for their drinks to arrive. It also didn’t help that Sasuke just sat there refusing to engage with anyone. The fact some had the courage to approach him in an attempt to chat with him and he just blows them off. Jerk. They were so nervous and obviously disappointed.

It’s no wonder why he’s single. Karin was beginning to think that Naruto was right with him being fussy. What kind of men was Sasuke interested in then?

"You could try making more of an effort. I mean you had seven people attempt to chat you up. Why did you turn them down?"

Sasuke raised an eyebrow. "You expect me to flirt with a 50-year-old."

"Oh, he wasn’t 50. Your exaggerating."

"Still looked old enough to be my Father." Sasuke shivered at the thought, no he wasn't a sugar baby which was obviously what the guy hinted at, saying he would pay him and everything.

"Okay fine. You get a pass on him. But what excuse do you have for the others? They looked about your age, not to mention handsome and you still don’t bat an eye?"

"It’s not my fault there aren't any decent looking guys here." Karin was about to retort and blow at him before their drinks finally FINALLY arrived. "Ah sorry for the wait. Your drinks." A young pink-haired man placed the tray down for them giving an apologetic smile. This was only his second week and the job was driving him insane. The money was good, but some of the customers as well as work colleagues were insufferable. But he smiled at the four constantly apologising as he would have gotten here sooner had it not been for a certain customer he was dealing with beforehand.

The Uchiha blinked as he stared up at the man, pink was an unusual hair colour but it suited him. Especially with those green eyes, he looked....cute, adorable even. When he turned to look at the Uchiha Sasuke he felt heat rise at the back of his neck and immediately looked anywhere else. He was asking if there was anything else they wanted but they politely turned him down. As he was walking away Sasuke stared back at him, silently regretting not talking to him. But what could he say that didn't make him across as weird or needy? He only came to deliver their drinks.

"Ahem," Karin faked coughed gaining Sasuke's attention. "I saw that."

"You saw nothing."

"Hmm, so you weren't just eyeing the cute guy just now?"

"What?" Suigetsu tuned in looking from Sasuke to Karin trying to figure out what she said was true. "I wouldn't picture him as Sasuke's type."

"He's not," Sasuke barked back.

"He so is!"

"IS NOT! I was just wondering why he had pink hair of all colours."

"Ah-ha, so you do admit you were staring at him." At that Sasuke facepalmed against the table, caught in the act and knowing there was no use in lying to Karin.

"It doesn't matter, he's working so he's off-limits."

"You could still try."

"He could be straight, like I said he's working."

"He could also be bi, pansexual or ace. You never know."

Sasuke glared at Karin who was not fazed in the sligtest. "I'm sure hundreds of guys attempted to flirt with him and as I mentioned he's working."

"Sasuke does have a point you know," Jugo piped in pointing to the pink-haired man and a stranger who obviously tried (and failed) an attempt to act smoothly towards the young man. He instead however just looked awkward and pointed towards the bar as a way to which they think is of him hinting that he needed to get back to work.

"Okay, so maybe you do have a point." Karin sighed but then a light bulb went off.

"Then you should just catch him on his break. This is a rare opportunity for you, since when do you come across someone you are interested in?" Sasuke was about to open his mouth to protest but closed it in thought. As much as it pained him to admit it, she had a point. Sasuke rarely met anyone who catches his eyes in these clubs. Well, when he says rarely what he means is never. But even so, it just seemed creepy trying to go after someone on their break. It was called a break for a reason, alas this was Karin.

"Well, since I'm such a good friend to you, I'll go ask him for you. I'm sure he'll be flattered," Karin said as she made her way to stand up. Sasuke quickly caught her wrist before going anywhere.

"Karin no!"

"Karin yes," she smirked smugly at him. "I'm doing you a favour here. As I said, it couldn't hurt to ask." Sasuke knew it was a lost cause, once Karin made up her mind there was no going back. From personal experience, he would know since he had two friends like that. The other friend is his annoying best friend and her relative, Naruto. Releasing her wrist from him his grip she dashed off before any of their other friends could get a word in. Damn, she was fast.

"You know there's no point Sasuke, just let her have her way." Suigetsu tried to comfort his friend. Well, how worse can it possibly get?

Karin looked around and made their way to the bar, since she couldn't find the pink boy, she looked for another staff member hoping to find out where he was. Karin noticed a blonde-haired woman, from the way she was walked and stood she must have been the boss or at least one of them. "Excuse me," Karin made her way once seeing she was free. They did look intimidating but that wouldn't put her off trying to find her friend his future husband. "I don't suppose you know where one of your staff members is? He has pink hair, green eyes, quite handsome if I do say so myself." The woman hummed with an amused look in her eyes.

"Well, he's around but I'm sorry to say he's interested in men if that's what you're here for."

Perfect.

"Ah no, it's fine, I'm actually looking for him for a friend."

"Oh? Then why doesn't this friend come and find him himself?"

Karin huffed. "Because he's stubborn and probably shy. He doesn't usually take an interest in someone but he couldn't stop looking at him and as one of his best friends I would like your permission to set them up." Well, that was probably a bit too forward, but it was the truth. "Uh-huh, that doesn't sound creepy at all. Why should I let my staff member off to meet a complete stranger?"

"Okay how about this. I'll pay you, look I promise I'm not up to anything funny. My friend likes him, won't make any effort to approach or talk to him so I'm doing it on his behalf. Of course, I understand he is working so I'll pay you for his time. Look I'm desperate here, if I don't do anything he'll be single for the rest of his life." She snorted. "Oh? Interesting, for payment I can take you up on that." The woman laughed. Well, that was easy.

"Tsunade?"

"Ah speaking of the devil. Sakura, this young lady wants to talk to you. Apparently, you have a secret admirer." She smirked at him, he just looked confused at the two of them. "Don't worry, take a break early and you can come back to work afterwards. I'm curious to see how this plays out." Sakura wanted to protest but the red-haired quickly grabbed his hand, "just follow me and I'll explain on the way." She smiled, Sakura glared at his boss whilst being dragged away who only grinned back and made her way instead to take his shift. Well, at least she was getting money out of this.

"You want me to date your friend?"

"Eh, it's not really a date per se, just let him chat to you and get to know each other. Then you can decide whether or not you want to date him." Karin suggested. "I promise you he's very handsome, stubborn and a pain in the ass sometimes but he has a good heart." Sakura had no idea how to feel. They just came here to work and now the boss is letting them off on a break early to chat up some guy. Oh, please don't tell me he's old. Please let him be young. If he had to sit and act interested they could at least be around their age. When Karin pulled him up to her table Sakura was relieved to see such fine, young handsome men. One, in particular, was rather attractive.

"Sasuke this is Sakura, Sakura Sasuke." The two looked at each other both feeling mortified and completely stunned by what was going on. It wasn't like either of them got a say in this, but hey Sakura thought. At least he hit the jackpot. Karin meanwhile just stood there, grinning. "Now we'll leave you two be, Suigetsu, Jugo we're off."

"But we only just got here." Suigetsu pointed out but after a quick glare sent by Karin Suigetsu scrambled apologising to Sasuke. Jugo let out a nervous chuckle and followed.

"See ya Sasuke." Blinking once, twice Sasuke realised he was abandoned by his so-called friends and left with the boy he was crushing on for no less than 10 minutes? 5 minutes? Great.

"Um, so.... should I sit down?" Sasuke nodded looking away awkwardly. Taking that as his cue, Sakura sat on the opposite side facing him. It felt a little weird considering he was in his work uniform but then didn't the woman say that it was more of a chat rather than an actual date? With that in mind, Sakura calmed his nerves and faced the man in front of him. He was rather attractive he would admit and it was cute that he was blushing. Still, how does he go about casually talking?

"So, your friend said that you're interested in me?" Sakura quirked an eyebrow smirking at him. How did I go from 0 to 10 so fast? Sasuke choked but played it off as a cough. This caused Sakura to giggle and smile at him gently. "Hey it's fine, I mean your friend did say to see this as a chat so why don't we talk and see how things go?" He almost squeaked out.

"I promise I didn't get them to set this up."

"I take your word for it, you don't exactly look happy about this despite having a crush on me." The man only glared at him in response to this, "are you always so full of yourself?"

"Yes, if a hot man finds me attractive. I feel like I should have a reason to be don't you think?" He smiled cutely at him. At least they were more at ease and he was looking at him now. Sakura could still feel butterflies in his stomach but surprised himself with how casual he acted. "You think I'm hot?" The man, Sasuke right? Smirked in response and if he could faint he would but he wanted to play off as disinterested and cool like in the movies.

"Oh please, it's not like your not aware of it. Besides I can feel a bunch of glares being sent my way at this very moment." To which Sakura responded himself by glaring at some of the men in return, it wasn't his fault that he liked him. Sasuke shrugged and paid no attention to them.

"Would you like a drink?" Sasuke asked noticing how he was the only one with glass. "It would have to be non-alcoholic seeing as I have to work afterwards." Noticing Tsunade approaching, of course, she wants to find out how it's going. "So can I get you any drinks sir?" Tsunade sent him a wink. "Just coke will do for me please."

"How about you? Would you like a top-up?"

"Ah, I haven't started on my first so I'm good." Tsunade nodded pleased that her employee seemed relaxed. Hey, you can never be too careful right and sure Tsunade may have sold him out but she still cared. When Sakura finally got his drink they started to ease on different conversations. Talking about their interests, what they do for a living, their dreams and what they saw in a potential partner. Sasuke had found out that Sakura was a few months older than him but they were both the same age. He worked here part-time to get some extra cash as he was in medical school and planning to become a doctor.

Then they started talking about past relationships, with Sasuke's relief he found out that yes Sakura was in fact available. Karin had apparently never asked in the first place and that his ex had cheated on him with someone who he wasn't supposed to worry about, figures. Although he didn't seem bitter about it which was a potential sign that he moved on. Sasuke then explained his own past experiences to how he fell in love with a guy who was straight. He said all the right things and the two had even kissed and made out as well, so it wasn't like there were any warning signs. But it had apparently been a dare that his friends set him up and they were all having a good laugh about it. Considering it lasted for half a year, Sakura wondered if perhaps there was a chance of him having an interest in him and if not. Well, then he's a bastard for doing something so horrible like that. Sakura's words, not his to which he agreed with. They then talked about their first kissing experience. Sakura's was horrible and cringeworthy and Sasuke was equally just as bad. Well neither of them had any experience so it made sense.

"Practice makes perfect, right?" Sakura laughed which Sasuke responded with a chuckle. The alarm went off on his phone causing the boy to frown.

"Ah, I need to get back to work," Sakura looked at the phone then back at him. "I don't suppose you want to go on an actual date with me?"

FUCK YES!

Sasuke's mood was suddenly lighter but he played it off cooly as they exchanged numbers. The two had agreed to meet up the next day for a proper date and hopefully, see where things go from there. Sakura got up and blushed to make his way back to work, he looked forward to the date even though the two had basically got to know each other.

Sasuke sat there for a while, still processing what had happened and the fact that he met someone. He decided to call Jugo hoping that they hadn't gone too far. Unsurprisingly it was Karin who picked up the phone and asked him how it went. They were on the way back as Karin still had yet to pay the boss, she kept her word.

As for how the relationship progressed between the two. They hit it off really well and it wasn't long before Sakura became Sasuke's official boyfriend and now husband. Sakura made sure Sasuke took care of himself and gave himself time off work to let his other employees have something to do instead. Sasuke also made sure Sakura got his rest and it wasn't long in the relationship did they decide to move in. As Sakura worked in the hospital the house made it much quicker for him to travel to. Sasuke's family had also loved him and he was happily accepted into the Uchihas. They were a rather big family with having his parents, brother, grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles and of course his adorable nephew and niece. Both the Harunos and Uchihas would spend Christmas and any other holidays. Seeing as Sakura only had his two parents it was easier for them all to meet up together. They would sometimes invite friends to which Karin would constantly brag about how she was their cupid. Well, she wasn't wrong there and when she found out that Sasuke proposed she was all over it planning the wedding (along with the two mothers who were equally as excited) making sure everything was perfect. Sakura wasn't fussed, he just wanted to marry his beloved especially when there was a time he didn't think he would get married. Sasuke wanted it to be just as special so he made sure they didn't go overboard. Of course, they faced their fair share of problems but nothing they couldn't fix.

The two were happily married and Sasuke would make sure it stays that way.
