    Holidays were never a thing in Boston. The closest to celebration they had in quarantine was when the military rounded everyone up for their 6 month head count.

    Jackson was different though, and the upcoming holiday was Halloween.

    Ellie always favored Halloween too, but this year wasn't the same. This year she wasn't celebrating with Joel, which was their favorite holiday together. He was always excited to help her, learning more about her favorite characters and creating impossible carvings to impress her.

    As mad as she felt towards him, she couldn't help but to miss him. Of course, she thought it was too soon to give in, but on more than one occasion has she almost forgiven him.

    Today was one of those days.
