Chapter 1: Oh how the mighty will fall

Chapter Text

“Finn, you believe me, right?” Frost prayed that her partner would stop this whole ordeal, yell at King for even attempting to expose her lies, anything to prevent this power from leaving her.

“...”

“Darling?” another plea escaping their lips. God, they are so pathetic. They could call upon the powers of the entire server, yet here they are, about to have that same power removed by mere mortals.

“...”

“...Phoenix…?” panic welled in her lungs. She couldn’t go back to being powerless - she would miss so much. Immortality was something she could live without. She wasn’t scared of losing that. She wasn’t even scared to lose her powers, really. She was scared to live alone. That choker translated everything for her - even herself. As soon as the crown and choker were removed she wasn’t worth more than an artifact - a relic of the past, doomed to speak a language long forgotten.

“I think they’ve made their choice Frost.” King said. King, the Llama hybrid she saved. The girl they basically adopted. The girl who saw a shiny jewel, and not knowing it held humongous power, showed Frost only to have them kill her. They have always regretted that day.

Frost looked to Finn, only to have them look away. That’s when King started to approach them.

“You told me you were God. You said you saw the world being created. But now everyone knows that the title of “God” is nothing but a title. It’s time you let someone else take that role.” King started to reach out for their crown as Frost attempted to squirm backwards, short breathes escaping along with their tears.

“Finn, please restrain the liar you call your ‘Darling’.”

“They’re not my ‘Darling’ anymore, King.”

Frost froze before going back to her attempts to escape.

Finn soon held Frost down, not uttering any words nor showing any emotion.

Frost realized that would be Finn’s last words to her that she would understand.

King had reached their crown, removing it. They felt the world spin around them, a mix of her magic leaving and lack of oxygen from hyperventilating. God, they could pass out right here and now.

King then reached towards her neck to remove their choker. Before she could remove it they uttered their last words.

“I’m so sorry.”

King unclasped the choker as Frost’s world had finally fallen, any words coming from their friends' throats sounding like absolute gibberish. Her world continued to crumble, spinning far too fast as their limbs went limp and her world fading.
