If asked, Izuku would say he had an okay childhood. Not great but definitely not as bad as it could’ve been. He had a mom that paid the bills and worried about him. Yeah, he had bullies. Yeah he would come home with broken bones and third degree burns and black bruises, but at least they never killed him or blinded or deafened him, so it wasn’t that bad, right? He had an okay childhood.
If asked about his school life, he would say it was okay. He didn’t have perfect grades but they were all C’s or above. Yeah, the teachers botched the scores so he probably would’ve had all A’s if they weren’t biased but he never failed a class. His teachers weren’t the greatest but they weren’t the worst, right? Sure they spitted and muzzled and gave him four or five hour suspension, and one even forced him to “make up” for disrupting the class, but they never hit him. The one who made him make it up never raped him either, it was just helping him, so it was okay, right? Right. He had an okay school life.
If asked about his mental health, Izuku would say it was okay. Not great but not horrible. He didn’t cut and has never attempted suicide so he was fine right? He guess sometimes he would dig his nails into his arms so hard, he still had indented crescents in his skin, but that wasn’t self harm! It didn’t even break the skin. He might’ve looked at the sleeping pills in the medicine cabinet but he never took them. The thoughts of “just take it, just do it, just die” were there for everyone right? Same when he was walking, there was a voice screaming at him to “walk into traffic, just die, it’ll be really quick, just one step”. He had never attempted suicide or self harmed. His mental health was okay.
If asked about his sleep, he would say it was okay. He knew that it as recommended that teens get 9-10 hours of sleep but no one actually had that did they? It’s not like he only got an hour each night? He got at least three every night. Not consecutively, but still, he was sleeping, so it was good right? His sleep was okay.
If anyone asked about anyone of these? He would want to say these answers. But instead he would sob. But it was okay . He never sobbed or cried. Because………
