Chapter Text
The name 'Jue Viole Grace' always managed to send shivers down his back anytime it was mentioned. Khun didn't even know the guy. In a world where Alphas ruled their packs, that name managed to scare even the Alphas.
Jue Viole Grace was known to be the most powerful Alpha of Alphas. He had immense power and should have ruled all the packs. It was said that his mate was a human and he had gone to search for her. Since then, no one had heard of him. At least, that was what Khun was told. The story was about 50 years old, and Khun was just 18. Now, they had a new Alpha of the alphas. His name was 'King Jahard.' Khun always thought the guy was ridiculous. His main worry was that In two months, he was going to be 18.
Werewolves always turned when they became 18. Once they turned, they gained extraordinary powers together with their status. Rare and gifted individuals would usually come with two abilities.
Khun was worried because most of the men in his family were usually Alphas and Betas. He didn't want to disappoint his mother any more than he could. Even his elder sister, who should have been an omega, came out as a Beta with fantastic abilities. The ability of a 'seer.' It was unheard of in the whole werewolf pack. His mother had spared no expense in showing how happy she was. A big celebration party had been thrown, and even his father, who was the alpha running their pack, had shown up, which was no surprise.
He hated his father so much because the man was a womanizer. He spent time on women instead of directing his energy towards developing the pack. He had so many wives and children even Khun had lost count of how many siblings he had. Being a Khun stopped being special when half of the pack members had blue hair and were related to you one way or another.
Khun sighed as he thought about the event coming up next month. It was Jahad's annual festival. It was a festival where their current alpha of the alphas would choose a bride amongst the newly turned werewolves. It happened every year, and every time it happened, Jahard always ended up adopting them instead of marrying them. So they became his princesses instead. The princesses were almost as much as his father's children, if not less.
Now that his sister has come out as a being of power, there was a very high chance she would be chosen to be his bride. He knew his sister 'Agatha' had been in love with Jahad forever. The man was beautiful. If not for his dark, immense aura, brooding stare and smile that gave Khun the creeps, Khun might have liked him too. He didn't think this man could keep himself happy, much less sister. He felt she deserved better. Someone who would love her for her, not her powers. He would have to devise a way to ensure they don't get married.
It was a late afternoon in the pack. Most people were out and about preparing for the upcoming festival. Up In his room, Khun was in deep thought. He was known to be a 'strategist'. When people got in trouble and wanted to avoid being punished, they always came to him for help. He would come up with plans that would instantly clear your name in exchange for a little token, of course. How else was a boy going to survive? He had to think of a way to get Agatha out of this marriage quickly.
He saw how happy Agatha and his mother were and he was sorry he would have to ruin Agatha's joy. The same could not be said for his mother. He couldn't care less about her joy. Agatha had reasonable reasons to be satisfied. The man she was in love with may choose her as his bride while he felt his mother was unreasonable. His mother only wanted power. She didn't care what she had to do to get it. Sell a child in return to gain power, then so be it.
Khun!Khun!!Khun!!! Maria yelled.
He had spaced out and he didn't even notice she had been talking to him.
"When and how did you get here?" he asked and shook his head. He needed to get his head in the game. He hadn't been able to think up a way to solve the problem.
'"A few minutes ago actually and I used the door. Your mother showed her disdain for me as usual. What were you thinking about so much?" she asked him as she smiled.
He stared at her for a few seconds. He knew he could trust her because she was his best friend, but he had to be careful about who he told his thoughts to. Maria had just turned recently. Although she was an Omega, she had the gift of lightning. She would most probably join the annual festival. A plan was beginning to form in his head but he had to be sure.
"Maria, how do you feel about the fact that Agatha may get married to Jahad?" he asked her.
"Hmmm, I was hoping to be a Jahard princess even though I wouldn't be his wife. Now that your sister has turned and has the ability of a seer, there is a high chance Jahard would most likely choose her.", she sighed. He stared at her and smiled "what if I helped you achieve your goals?"
She looked so surprised and stared at him for a long time and asked, "at the expense of your sister?"
"For her happiness, I would do anything" , he said so softly as his eye softened. He was going to fight for her happiness even if she was unwilling.
The day of the festival was approaching, and time was not on his side. Khun had been laying all his plans in motion. He had to make it happen as fast as possible. While his mother seemed to have married off his sister in her head, his sister herself was acting like an house wife. He pitied her because he knew his plans would break her heart. But she would get over it. She was always the strong one.
He didn't have to worry about going to school, unlike Kiseia. He had finished high school early because he was brilliant, and half of the time, he was the one teaching his teachers. They disliked him, and he didn't feel bad for them. Honestly, the pack was full of dull people just like his father.
He was lying down on his bed when he heard a knock on his door. His cousin 'Ran'.The boy walked in like he owned the room. What was he going to do with this child? He behaved too mature for his age.
Ran looked around the room and stared at Khun."You are planning something, aren't you? he said.
How the little boy saw through him, he could not find phantom it. "Why are you under the impression I am planning something?" Khun raised an eyebrow at him and sat up.
"Because your room is a bit messy,"Ran stared at him dead in the eye.
Okay, he had him there. Khun always left his room tidy, and he hated when someone touched his things when he wasn't around. Hence, he always locked his door. His room was out of bounds for even his mother. It was a mutual agreement between them. She stayed out of his room, and he stayed out of her way. Don't you love family?
However, today was different. Books were strewn everywhere on the floor. The pack maps were also on the floor close to Ran's leg. He bent down to pick it up and eyed it warily.
"Please do not tell me you plan to do anything illegal?", Ran asked with an almost wide eye.
Khun shrugged and replied, 'It depends on what you classify as illegal.
'Khun!' Ran yelled
"I was just being sarcastic; you know," Khun laughed.
Khun loved the kid. He was the little brother he never had. Although the Khuns were raised never to show weakness, Ran always wore his expressions on his sleeve. At least to Khun he did, but to his family members, Ran was a cold-hearted kid.
He was an adorable naive child, and Khun wished he could protect him from the world's dangers and his family. He couldn't tell Ran his plans, the boy would probably understand, but he would be implicated if something happened to Khun. He couldn't let that happen. He had to do this all on his own.
