Work Text:

Sometimes, days get difficult.
When the gunshots stop and Omen is left in silence. Voices creep to his head, they start murmuring, speaking to each other and speaking to him.
Then, they scream.
The most horrible and agonizing of sounds fill his consciousness. Rotting his almost human mind and ripping apart his unstable body that he can barely keep together.
With each scream, with each voice torturing him, he shatters.
Every part of him demands to break, to die. But it never happens, no matter what he does he is simply alive and to his demise, he never ceases to be.
Days he spends alone in the valorant headquarters are by far, the worst.
He could mask his pain by inflicting it to those clones, some sort of adrenaline overpowering his senses and finally having a break of his demons. At soon as that stops he feels them back.
Now alone in a dark room, he is unable to move. Resting in a hard mattress he acts as if he is already dead, giving up to the damned on his head, on his soul. He knows eventually he had to get up and finally feel the short-lived freedom that being on a mission gives him, but he wishes I shouldn't be like that.

Cypher felt a soft being rubbing on his leg and a gentle purr coming from under his workbench. He let his work on a pause to give the little animal the attention it demanded.
"Hecate, what brings you here?"
The cat meowed as if she understood his question, Cypher nodded in agreement and softly patted her head.
"I'm sorry sweetie but I have work to finish, you shouldn't come to hang out here"
Cypher got up from his chair in an attempt to get the cat out of the workshop but she began to meow louder, maybe she wanted something.
"Have you been fed?"
Cypher didn't know why he expected the cat to answer but he could figure out by the way she behaved that she wanted something.
Suddenly Hecate began sprinting out of the workshop and went in direction of the kitchen, Cypher followed her.

Sage stood in the front of the cupboard, deciding in between her limited boxes of tea.
Valorant as an organization lacked funds, most of the money coming most probably from Vipers dirty laundry. That meant they weren't really in the position to get their hands on fancy stuff at the moment, she lamented a little, missing her homeland tea.
When she finally settled on a simple mint tea, a black mass of fur jumped to the counter beside her. She eyed Hecate and promptly ignored her, which seemed to bother the cat as she loudly meowed to gain her attention, it didn't succeed.
What did get her attention was the man that followed after Hecate.
"Good afternoon"
"Good afternoon, Sage"
Cypher could see Hecate's bowls from there, they were full.
"I thought she didn't eat all day, went to my workshop just to meow at me"
"I wanted to give her some ham and she bit me, I don't understand cats"

At that point they were both staring at Hecate, who was seemingly proud of her job of bringing the two of them together to look at her, she looked like she wanted to give a talk.

"Maybe she just wanted pets and not food" Cypher petted her head once again.
"It's weird that she is not with Omen..." He added, those two were almost inseparable on Omen's free days.

"Now that you're saying that, have you seen Omen? I last saw him yesterday, after coming back from the mission in Italy"

"I haven't seen him, no" Cypher gave a brief pause, thinking of the man in question. "Do you think he's alright? He usually asks for some space but it's weird of him to ignore Hecate"

"I don't really know" Sage let out a worried sigh and proceeded to give Hecate a soft pet as well before going back into making her tea. "Could you check on him? I warmed enough water to make tea for the three of us, maybe ask him if he wants some"

"Alright, I'll go"

"And Aamir"

Cypher stopped on his track to look back at Sage, who leaned in to kiss him softly on the lips, Cypher flustered a little.

"Come back out of your workshop more often, I'm tired of both of my boyfriend's hiding all the time"

Cypher let out a quiet laugh before resuming his way.
"Will try"
Hecate followed after him.

Omen was startled when he heard the creak of the door, the light coming from the hallway almost blinding him but that was soon fixed when Hecate jumped on his chest, purring while she rubbed his face, realization soon hit him.

"I'm sorry for leaving you outside..." Then confusion began again when he wondered how did she get in.

"Omen"
Omen looked at the source of the familiar Voice who slowly approached him, he didn't say anything.

"How do you feel?"
He felt the weight shift on his bed as Cypher seated, he soon sat beside him, Hecate accommodated herself beside them. "Sage and I were worried about you"
Everything was still loud as always, many voices going around his head but he could ignore them for one, Cypher's voice.
Omen didn't feel like lying.
"Not so good today"
Cypher leaned against his shoulder and took his hand, intertwining their fingers.
"I see, is there something we could do about it?"
Omen felt Cypher's short beard against the exposed part of his neck, it tickled a little. That was the first nice thing of his day.

"I don't think so" Omen had to admit, although he did feel just a little bit more at ease. Cypher leaned in to kiss his smooth cheek and pulled Omen for a hug, Omen let himself rest on his lover's arms.

"Sage made some tea, do you want some?" Cypher told him softly as if Omen could get scared and run away, he just didn't want him to part from them.

"I do..." They let go of their embrace even when they didn't really want to and got up.

It was not always that the voices got that bad and wasn't accustomed for Omen to feel that vulnerable, but deeply he knew that right now, he was safe.

When they finally reached the dining room the first thing that Omen felt was another pair of arms enveloping him again, he gave in, tired.

"I'm glad to see you're alright"

"I'm... glad to see you too"

Sage's hands cupped his face and sweetly caressed him. Her hands had a refreshing feel that even he was unable to describe, it felt comforting. Her lips did as well

"Hey! Don't leave us out"
Both Sage and Omen turned to see Cypher with Hecate in his arms, surprisingly the three of them laughed, even Omen for a bit.
Cypher was pulled into the hug and Sage gave him a quick kiss while Omen brushed his cheek with his some sort of mouth, unable to be seen from under his hood.
Hecate earned a lot of pets from Omen during it.

The three of them sat down and enjoyed the tea with some toast.
In his misery, Omen could sometimes forget how in peace he feels with the people he loves the most
