Summary
Henry's eyes trail up to the figure resting on the descending trapeze and his jaw goes slack. Before him is the most beautiful man he has ever beheld. The raining glitter catches in his rich brown curls like a halo and matches the sparkle of his - well-fitted - suit. Henry knows he's gawking, but then the man seems to catch his eye and wink, and Henry forgets how to breathe.
A multi-chapter Moulin Rouge! AU in which Henry is a hopelessly romantic writer who has run to Paris to escape from the gilded cage of the royal family he was born into. Alex is the Sparkling Diamond of the Moulin Rouge, Montmartre's most famous nightclub, but he yearns to become a lawyer to help the impoverished community he calls home. A chance encounter introduces him to Henry, quite possibly the man who could change his plans, and his life, in ways he could never have dreamed of. But when Alex is promised to the Duke, the club's possessive and sinister benefactor, Alex and Henry's relationship is put to the ultimate test. (Alternate ending to Moulin Rouge! in which Henry and Alex get the happy ending they deserve.)
